It didn't work. Tried again - same results. Ordered via Uber Eats. (2)My go-to is Chicken Tikka - no onions. I clicked on the Allergy tab for onions, however when it arrived my Chicken Tikka was COVERED with them!! it said 3 times on the receipt NO Onions /Allergy. This was completely ignored ! Despite scraping them all off and smothering a piece in Raita, my tongue is still tingling and swollen. (3)The Naan Bread was so dry, thin and over cooked it was the consistency of a burnt cracker. I tried soaking it in some water between paper towels and microwaving it, but it was so thin in many places it snapped. I'm used to Naan being thick and soft with some blackened edges. I like to put my chicken inside with Raita and eat it like a pita wrap. Not with this stuff ! (4)Nowhere on the website or Uber app does it say that the Butter Chicken comes with rice. So I order a side of rice for my husband. 3 containers of rice show up. Had I known it was already included (most places will tell you ) I would have saved the 6$. He didn't need 3 containers. (6)The free dish included when you spend 40$ was Papri Chaat . It was something I never heard of, but sounded good. I'm Sure it would have been if the wafers (Papri) wasn't It was completely soggy. (7) I also told them no Chutney as it would go to waste. They sent 3 containers .... The Good- It was quick from order to delivery. The Raita was delicious. Butter Chicken was enjoyed by my Husband. The flavour of the Chicken Tikka once all the onions were scraped off. Had they substituted cabbage for the onions it would've been really good. Thankfully Uber refunded me the 20$ for the Chicken. I checked the reviews of various Payal eateries the night before our trip, and Navraj sounded good. Clearly, we made the right choice. Everything about this experience was very positive. First, we received a quick and friendly welcome. We arrived before noon and had no trouble getting a booth. After perusing the extensive menu we decided on the lunch special which, on Thursday, happened to be two of our favourites: Palak Paneer and Butter Chicken. Specials are different every day. Soon the thalis arrived and we were amazed at the lovely portion size. Besides the two main dishes (we did not have to choose, we got them both), there was Basmati rice, a warm buttered naan, raw veggies, and raita. Also included was warm gulab jamun. All for $15! The Palak Paneer was creamy with lots of soft paneer cubes. This is my favourite Indian dish and it did not disappoint. Lovely! The Butter Chicken sauce was rich and full of flavour, with tender chunks of chicken. The food was absolutely delicious! It was fresh and only mildly spicy. I was surprised at that, because I doubt they cater much to western tastes. I expected the food to be much hotter than it was. We had told the server we prefer mild spice, but did not really expect that. However, it was perfect for us. Full of flavour, mild spice, so we could really taste the food and not fighting the heat. Very impressive! Neither of us could eat all the food in one sitting, and we loaded up the take-out containers the server offered. We took home rice, naan and a container each of the Palak Paneer and the Butter Chicken. Service was friendly and attentive. We felt very welcome. Granddaughter enjoyed watching the Bollywood music and dance routines on the large screen. We left talking about how much we enjoyed the food and the lovely experience overall. It was a long trip to get there but we felt it was worth it, apart from anything else we did at Payal Centre, just to have that wonderful meal. We highly recommend Navraj Sweets and Restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Indian food. We would definitely go again!
