Welp! What a disappointment. My family and I frequent this restaurant quite often when we are in the mood for Jamaican cuisine. This time was not that great. I ordered the meals via door dash pickup online and when I told the staff my order they had difficulty finding my order. That was the first issue. Before I could get the full word "door dash" out she blurted out that they did not confirm the order as if it was a delivery order. The next issue was that they ran out of jerk chicken. The man told me that there is some cooking in the oven and that it would be ready in 5 minutes. I was cool with that. At least I knew the food would be fresh. Problem! He lied the jerk chicken would not be ready in 5 min instead it was ready in 45 min. I should have cancelled my order and asked for a refund but I continued to wait. There were no apologies for the wait time or the rude customer service. When I got home to begin eating I noticed that they did not give us a substantial portion of meet. It was mainly bones. I felt like I definitely got ripped off. Also, I think they changed the recipe of the sauce for the jerk chicken because it was really sweet and tangy instead of being spicy. I don't think I will be back unfortunately. This is not the first time that I have had a bad experience at this restaurant. Whether its them running out of food, order not being ready for pickup, or bad customer service..it is always something. It is time to find another local Jamaican restaurant in the area. My first thoughts when coming inside was wow this food smells good. I ordered the oxtails, rice & beans, Mac & cheese & plantains. Let's start by saying this place did not have a welcoming atmosphere. The Mac & cheese was nasty no flavor barely any cheese it was just noodles, I've could have gotten better Mac @ Popeyes. The rice & beans not seasoned it was pretty bland. Came in late on a weekday. Got the medium jerk chicken with rice/peas and plantains. Large takeout portion that lasted 2 meals. Sadly, they were out of veggies. She offered the oxtail gravy for the rice, and I'm so glad I said yes, because it was delicious and I even got a little meat in there to try. Jerk itself was very flavorful and a good spice level, definitely had a little heat, like it should. Plantains were a nice balance with their sweetness. The food is generally delicious! I want to give a 5 star review but unfortunately, the Mac and cheese is extremely inconsistent. Some days it tastes a bit like soap, other times it is sweet, sometimes it is creamy, and other times it is dry. I wish there would be one recipe used for the Mac and cheese. I haven't had Jamaican food in so long and there so many places to choose from. I got lucky that I found this place through Yelp. I ordered a medium curry goat with rice and beans. It also comes with plantains, medium oxtail with the same side of rice and beans and plantains, medium jerk chicken with a side of rice, bean, and cabbage, side of plantains, and mac and cheese. I have to say the portion side is amazing, definitely gave a good amount of food. I love every single dish. They were all very tasty and well seasoned but my favorite has to be the oxtail, curry goat, plantains, and the cabbage. Mac and cheese is the only dish I think was ok. Dry and not cheesy enough. There was only one person working but nevertheless, the wait wasn't bad and the service was good. I will come back again and get some seafood dishes like the fish. read more

We ordered jerk pork and mac and cheese for one dish. Oxtail, rice and peas, and plantains for the other dish. My wife, who's Jamaican, said her oxtail dish was just "ok". My pork had a ridiculous amount of bone and fat on it. Like big slabs of fat. Also, it was just drenched in jerk sauce. I like jerk, but this was way too much. The actual meat, when we were able to get to it, was not bad. But there wasn't much of it that was edible. The mac and cheese was a joke. There was very little cheese in it and it was basically just plain elbow noodles. Very bland and plain. And they still use styrofoam containers. The food is better at any number of Jamaican restaurants in the Trenton area, and they all use recyclable togo containers. We wanted to give this place a try, but we absolutely won't be back. Excellent food at an excellent price. This place hit all the marks. Also, one of the only places open this late (until 10 PM) during the COVID pandemic. I was able to satisfy my Jamaican food craving with just a short 20 minute drive to this little store. I am so happy I did. There isn't too much to say. I got the curry chicken platter with rice and peas alongside cabbage. Nowadays, it's rare to get several meals worth of food (an amazingly large plate) for $9.63. In fact, at most of the other local restaurants I have been to around this area, this same meal would usually cost $12+. The price was great and the food was all-around tasty. I enjoyed my meal. I am deeply disappointed in this restaurant. After reading the reviews, I was excited to get some things delivered on Ubereats. After placing my order, I received a call from the restaurant informing me that they are out of literally all the things I tried to order. This is understandable and happens sometimes. What was not understandable was how this was then handled. The person on the phone refused to cancel the order and insisted that I do it. Of course, this means that I was charged by Ubereats over 70% of the price that I would have paid had the food actually come. This is a hard "No." I was looking forward to trying this place and ordered: jerk chicken, curried chicken, beef patty, plantains, and Mac & cheese. I also ordered a chicken patty, but was given beef instead. While the plantains, patties, and Mac & cheese were decent, both chicken dishes were not edible. They looked good and smelled good, but the quality of the meat was very poor: bone fragments and shards in every bite. I get it that there are bones which the meat falls off of, but this included tiny pieces that you had to spit out or you would swallow and choke on. Met some friends here for a quick lunch, and while it's a small place that's probably mostly takeout, the food is quite good, even for my friends who hadn't had Jamaican food before. What was also helpful was that they allowed us to try the different dishes to see what we might be interested in, which was pretty key for my friends new to Jamaican cuisine.
