This will be a long review. I believe in praise when deserved. Lighthouse is clean. All the machines work. Most are new. They offer 2 change machines. They off the Payrange App for us that never carry cash. They have a well stocked vending machine that includes laundry soap and softener for us that often forget to bring our own. They upgraded the security cameras for our safety. But the number one best feature is CUSTOMER SERVICE. We can go anywhere to do laundry, but when things go wrong like they do you want good customer service. This is the best I've been to. I give my word on this place. read more

The worst and the most dirtiest laundry mat I've ever been to! Recently moved into the area and found this to be the closet laundry mat to use to wash our comforters. First impression upon walking in was why is it SO DIRTY! And why were the floors drenching wet and also why are there no workers?! There were at least 3 broken machines with no out of order signs. I texted the number on the wall to report a flood, and no response. One of the machines did not drain the water from my comforters and I had to pay to use another machine to do so. For the price, the machines do not get the work done. Don't think I will be coming back here! So gross! Who knows if they even maintain their machines. read more

Was trying to find a laundromat that could take a huge blanket I have. Finally found the Lighthouse and came in, from first looks clean. I came close to closing which the owner of the place was so kind to let me continue my wash and dry. Don't expect it to happen everytime I come here but very kind person and I appreciate him letting me wash my blanket. Other places usually I need more than a 40 minute dry for my blanket but it took about 20 minutes so I saved some change even if it wasn't a lot. Money is money, I'll be coming here more often for sure! read more

Sometimes there's water on the floor and sometimes things don't work but the owner will refund you. I like this laundromat due to the convenience of it . I love the huge washers for comforters and to do huge loads of laundry . He might not respond right away but when I followed instructions I received a refund. Could it be cleaner, yeah. I only left one star because I have to leave a star to leave a review. Washers cost 9:50 and 750 to wash when you add the hot water option It goes up $.50 when you add a permanent press option it goes up $.25. I put coins in and turn my head to grab more coins in the amount of owed went up, the laundromat is dirty there's nobody that works there half of the washers are down with no out of order sign. there's a puddle of water on the floor along with a bunch of trash all over the floor read more

Not really sure what's up with the bad reviews. Never had issues with getting change from the coin machine. The place is decent and all the machines I used have always been working without issues. It's a laundromat, you don't come in here to get catered to. You're here to wash clothes. There's a coffee shop and a taco bell in the area so in case you want to grab something while waiting for your laundry, you have options aside from the vending machine. I dread going to laundromats myself but there are times when your washer just does not want to cooperate. I am glad this is close to where I usually do grocery shopping. read more

This has got to be theeeee cleanest laundry mat ever. I came here to wash my comforter and to my surprise when I walked in I was amazed at how clean it is. I down loaded the app before I got there and was given a free $9.00 wash so I didn't have to pay any money to wash my comforter. I'll definitely be back. read more

This place is nasty!!! My dryer is making this loud noise so I took some bedding laundry to dry and they finished smelling like stinky dog. So sick! I don't even have any pets at home. Had to come home and rewash all my bedding. A waste of detergent, fabric softener and money used to dry. I do not recommend this place at all!!! read more

I had a great experience here. It had been years since I hade gone to a laundry mat, but my washer broke and I needed some clean clothes. The place was very clean. Plenty of machines open. I didn't have any problems getting change or using the machines. It was very quiet the Wednesday evening that I went. It was nice that all the snacks and drinks were only a dollar. read more

Don't waste your money. The place was filthy. Clearly hadn't been cleaned in days. Closest to us so we used it anyway. Realized that since the trash cans were overflowing, the dryer lint traps probably hadn't been serviced either - that's why it was taking so long to dry clothes. This place is great! I've been going here for the past few weeks while my washer has been out of commission. I love that the washers are super big - they get the job done and quickly. It's right near a great coffee shop as well as close to the post office, Fred Meyer, an ATM, and a couple fast food restaurants. It also has free WiFi - so it's great if you like to maximize your time and tackle a few errands while your load is drying. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is that on every occasion I visited, at least a handful of machines were broken and usually one out of the two coin machines is out of commission. On at least one visit, there was a fair amount of water on the floor in parts. Now I'm not a laundromat regular, so perhaps these things are typical and to be expected, so take that with a grain of salt. Overall, I'm happy I found this place and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The people seem friendly too. read more

Went here today to wash a comforter and when the wash cycle is done...I pull it out to find 2 big black rub marks on it and these were not there before! But who can I talk to? No one! No attendant. While I was there...the washer ate somebodys change and guess what...no attendant! Wash at your own risk! Im NEVER going back there again! I really hope the marks come out. read more

Close to my work and there is usually open machines available. Change machines usually full if you need quarters. No one on staff if there is a problem with machines, and I didn't notice a sign saying who to call if there was a problem. read more

Lighthouse Laundry is in a nicer part of Tacoma on the way to Point Defiance. They face the El Toro Restaurant on the north end of Westgate South. They are in the same shopping center as Albertsons, GNC and McDonalds.They have new and not-so-new machines, going up to the four-loader size. The fast-spin cycle on the front-loaders save drying time. It looks small from the outside, but packs alot of machines into a small, cramped maze that stretches back from the front door.The place is more or less clean, and there are vending machines. but not much seating. I suppose you could go next door to Tacoma Del Mar and get a taco during the washing cycle, but NEVER leave your clothes unattended during the drying cycle. It is all self-serve, so there is no drop-off, dry-cleaning or alterations, or attendant. They are open 8am-9pm, seven days a week. read more

I strolled into this laundry mat on a sunny Wednesday afternoon. Upon entering my once sunny disposition turned quite glum. Only half of the machines were usable. The others sat there in silence with an 'out of order' sign hung on them. I sat and waited for a machine to become available. There was a lady emptying a washer near me. The look on her face of absolute disgust spoke well of her situation. The machine she used failed to run a spin cycle. She was stuck with the conundrum of wether to spend the money to run them again in a different machine, to hand ring all her clothes by hand and then put into dryer, or to just throw the sopping clothes into the dryer and pay more money for the extra dry time. As she pondered, her clothes drained on to the floor thus creating what I now call Lake Lighthouse Laundry! I departed soon after this event. Only to be asked by the obvious methamphetamine addict next to me I had a cigarette. read more

This place is a dirty, floor peeling and looks as if it has never been mopped! The machines don't work (most of them) and they are moldy inside. I spent 15 dollars just to wash one load. Lost most of it on two machines that didn't work. Decided to not waste my time on the dryers. I would not recommend this place at all. It needs to be completely overhauled! read more

I haven't been to a laundromat in over 2 years - but my dryer is on it's last leg, and I'm getting tired of the LOUD squeaking, anywho... found this laundromat using Google, I was impressed they had a video walkthru of the place. I'm not sure how many "loads" I had, but there were three large baskets overflowing. I threw them in the washer, dropped in $4.50 and away they went. One washer went 14 minutes, the other 18... not sure why. The only difference was one I picked cold (18min) the other warm (14min) The dryers were large industrial things, as clean as could be expected - actually everything was quite clean! I was suprised since the last one I frequented was REALLY dirty... just thought that was normal. Back to the dryers... for $0.25 they gave me 4 minutes, and they dried my clothes and towels pretty quickly. There were a few broken ones and I didn't realize it, so I got to move my clothes around after they were already in the dryer - yaaay. I'll keep going back until I get a replacement dryer! read more
