These nurses had 6 to o 20 patients per nurse.. he contuined to bleed blood clots through his breathing tube it was horrible! Finally I insisted they call 911!! Ty hey refused said I could call 911 if I wanted. What! What kind of hospital or nursing home would say this!! I freaked on them they left came back ok we called 911 we will take him to the hospital. From the hospital I brought him home on hospice.. he was brought there in fair condition he left in a box!! Do not send your lives one to this place please! No

I was paralyzed in 2019 while working as a heavy machine operator for a mining company. After I was…read moreable to leave the hospital I ended up staying at Santé for years (off and on) & it's the only physical rehabilitation facility that I will go to. I have had the displeasure of staying at 2 different PT rehabs before I ended up at Santé & you would not believe the horror stories I have from those places, just unbelievably awful (Both stank of urine & feces the moment you get passed the front desk.) & Sante was like a Godsend for me. Let me start with the facility 1st. The place is very nice. They have a Starbucks Cafe, a full gym staffed with friendly & knowledgeable physical therapists that will work with you everyday, a full restaurant, and most importantly, HUGE SPACIOUS INDIVIDUAL ROOMS equipped with a flat screen tv, a mini fridge, a kitchenette, a microwave, and a nice big full size bathroom for my wheelchair. Next let me tell you about the staff. Everyone there is so friendly & polite. I stayed there for years & most of the staff stayed there and are still there since I first went to Santé in 2019 (That should tell you something. Most nursing facilities are like a revolving door when it comes to the staff). I'd like to mention some names of people who really became friends of mine while I was there. Marlin, Brian, Aiden, Catalina, Sharon, & Kimberly from the CNA team are all excellent at their jobs & true professionals. These guys went over & beyond their duties for me & I thank God for their help, they truly are the best (You need to trust me on this, at other places I've had criminal's & people who just don't care & I never got that at Santé. They were always good to me). From the nursing staff id like to mention Betty, Jose, Fennela,& Elizabeth. These nurses are top notch. They actually care about the patients & they don't treat you like a person that they have to deal with, they treat you like a person & that is so rare in healthcare especially post covid. If I had to complain about anything it would be the food. When I first went to Sante in 2019 they had an extensive menu with lots of options & the food was actually good. I left for a year and when I came back the kitchen had really gone down hill. You know it's not good when the employees don't eat from there. I talked to the main chef Daniel & he told me they cut his budget drastically & the quality of the food suffered as a result so it's not his fault, corporate is always looking to save a buck & they shouldn't do that with the food, it's kind of important for those who have to stay there for long periods of time. I was able to eat there everyday if I wanted to but I ordered delivery most days because the food was nasty. There are so many others I am forgetting to include but the staff for the most part is amazing. If you are looking for a nice place for yourself or a loved one look no further. It doesn't get any better than Sante of Mesa. Other places will put on a show for you & trick you into staying there thinking it's a nice place & then when management goes home the night crew will come in and they are terrible, sometimes even abusive. This doesn't happen at Santé, they even have couches in the rooms with pull out beds so you can have a loved one spend the night with you, they welcome it because they are fully staffed at nighttime and don't leave you with a skeleton crew like everywhere else. At least that's been my experience. Last but not least I'd like to thank Kristina the maintenance manager! Kristina is an angel walking around on earth. She totally gets me & we were friends (she is another 1 who has been there a long time.) She will make sure everything in your room works & she keeps the place nice. Management is also great! If you do choose Santé' make sure you don't get Irene as a nurse. She is a nurse at Santé who doesn't belong. She is the only one I ever had a problem with & it was like she liked to pick on me. I honestly never did anything to this lady & for some reason she was always rude & unprofessional. Whenever I would ask for her she literally took an hour or longer to get to me if she ever came at all. I would ask her to change my folly catheter in the morning time and she would blow me off all day & try to pass the work on to the night nurses. The worst part about working with her is when I would ask for her help I could actually hear her just talking & laughing with the staff instead of attending to my needs. She made some of my days very bad & I always loathed the days I had her for a nurse but she is the exception, all the other nurses there are great, especially the ones I named. If you have any questions feel free to ask me, I will answer any questions truthfully because I know how important it is to put your loved ones into a good nursing facility & God willing I never need to go back but if I ever need to stay in a nursing facility again Sante is where I would go. I hope this helps God bless!

Allegiant Healthcare,…read morePlaza Healthcare and the other seven places he stayed in were understaffed and uncaring; especially Plaza Healthcare. He went from 16 hours of breathing on his own at Banner downtown acute care (kicked out at 100 days because he was getting better AND Medicare refused to pay) to one hour *ONE HOUR!!!* in only 29 short days later at Plaza Healthcare! Disgusting! ALL of these SNF's are horrible in AZ. After 10 1/2 long months of being gone from home, fighting for his life from Covid, he died. Dr. Boba changed his DNR without our approval and said we approved. I think that's fraud

After my mom's stroke and brain bleed she was brought to this facility for memory care and rehab. I…read moreseriously wish I had taken photos to show what was taking place. The first evening my mom was there I walked in and she was laying on a plastic mattress with no sheets on the FLOOR!!! I demanded they raise the bed, put some rails on it and put sheets on it. They said they couldn't find the sheets to fit it! I told them to bring in a different bed then that had sheets that fit. The following day the in charge nurse told my father, in front of my mother that this was the best it was going to get. She would not be getting any better. At this point my mom couldn't speak, couldn't get up and walk, but knew what you were saying. It was the first time since her stroke and brain surgery that she cried. She knew what this nurse was saying. I was furious. I got my mom up, had her stand while I held on to her and we would just hug and sway back and forth to get weight on her legs and get her muscles working again. (Isn't this what a rehab hospital should be doing???). Within 3 days, my mom was able to walk to the restroom and use it. Now she didn't have to lay in her waste for HOURS waiting for someone to come change her. Within a week, they had a hard time keeping her down. She began talking again. Although still very confused with memories, she was improving greatly. That nurse tried to make me feel stupid like I had no idea and because my mom had had a seizure, she was now going to live an infantile existence for the rest of her life. If it was up to them, she would. They were doing absolutely ZERO memory care with her and occasional pt. I was horrified at what was going on. I had to throw fits to get her bathed. I was constantly being told they were understaffed or the 'shower girl' didn't show up. Today, almost a year later, my mom has some memory issues and dementia, but she is home and functioning pretty darn well! Especially for someone who was never going to get better! The picture is of my mom the other day, riding her bike. I've thought of taking it into the nurse and telling her don't you dare EVER tell a patient or their loved one this is the best it gets and she won't get any better.

I researched the facilities that were within my medicare network. All of them received mostly negative reviews. My daughter knew a former of Mi Casa employee and she had mostly good things to say about the place. Thus, we selected Mi Casa for my wife's care. The facility is old and somewhat dated; typical Arizona decor, beige and brown. However, the facility is clean and the cleaning lady did her room daily. The nurses that cared for my wife were very good and caring. The majority of the CNAs were also good. Weekends usually had fill-in staff who were mostly OK. The physical, occupational and speech therapists were exceptional and caring. My wife made a lot of progress while there. Criticism of the food is warranted. Most of the entrees were excessively salty, as was the daily serving of instant mashed potatoes. The vegetables were what my wife ate mostly. My wife is lactose intolerant, but we sometimes received a carton of milk with the meal. The kitchen staff does not follow instructions very well. After two months of care, some desk jockey at Humana Medicare Advantage decided she did not need any more SNF care. Too bad, as she will require considerable physical therapy for the next several months.
