About 7 years and multiple tattoos worth with a wonderful artist who worked at your shop recently. You mistreated, misled, took advantage of, and ripped off one of the kindest and most intentional humans with one of the biggest hearts. I love Lil Baby's, and I especially love Gia! I've been going to Gia for several years, and have continually been blown away by their skills (especially as they're doing a large cover up for me-- not easy!) But just as importantly, I always feel appreciated and listened to, and that their concern for my experience and safety are paramount. I think Gia may be my favorite tattoo artist so far. If you are looking for an in-and-out (quite possibly mediocre) med to large piece please do not go to Lil Baby's. Gia pays attention to detail. I mean the crisp lines are the best I have seen. And speaking from experience I have seen some blown out lines. A deposit is required but that should not surprise someone serious about their ink and multiple visits are required (that was a surprise to me) but, you will not regret it once you see your final piece of permanent art. Lil Baby's is a small place, with a warm feeling about it. I would not recommend bringing guests to your appointment. read more

Absolutely horrible experience from first checking out the shop to arriving for my appointment. I've been tattooed by artists throughout the country and have never had such a horrible experience. When I first came to the shop it was while I was in the neighborhood just passing by. Knocked on the door to get info about their work and bookings. Gianna came to the door and shoved a bunch of stickers in my hands, quickly said they weren't opened yet and slammed the door in my face. Thinking she maybe was just having a bad day, I decided to follow up with a call. I received a text response to my voicemail that explained how to book an appointment. I said thank you and proceeded to book a consultation. At the time of my Zoom consultation with Gianna, I found that she often spoke over me and at me. I found it difficult to have a collaborative conversation with her and she appeared to be defensive often. I was hoping that the defensive communication behavior she engaged with in the Zoom consultation would not show up in our sessions and decided to give her the benefit of the doubt again. A mistake on my part. Being a therapist and trained to read human behavior, I should have seen the red flags and kept it moving. I didn't. I booked with Gianna and waited several months for my appointment. On the way to my appointment I realized that in my rush to get to her on time (the studio isn't close to my house) I didn't get enough to eat and found that I was getting light headed (not uncommon for me when I don't eat enough). I knew I wouldn't sit well and so when I arrived to my appointment I stated that to be able to sit I would need to put something in my stomach as I was feeling light headed. Gianna provided what can only be referred to as a resentful okay and I went on my way. She followed up with two text messages, one which told me not to come back to the shop with food and the other shortly after that said if I continue to not feel well that we will cancel. Neither message were conversational and both had the same speaking at me rather than to me tone which I had seen in our earlier communication. I arrived back at the shop. Gianna has a "late window of time" which is 30 minutes after the appointment before she cancels. I was still within that window even after having left. I stated that I felt much better and again, no conversation to be had, Gianna began an anxious monologue about how she wasn't comfortable tattooing me and that she's immune compromised. I was surprised and said nothing as I tried to make the connection between my typical low blood sugar response and her reactivity to the situation. Not knowing how to respond yet, Gianna quickly jumped in and was upset by my taking a moment to reflect. She began to call me harmful for not respecting her wishes, a behavior that's called gaslighting by the way (again, I hadn't responded yet and was really just so confused by her behavior). I was in shock. I tried to talk to her to sort things out but she kept talking over me every time I opened my mouth. Eventually I said that I would be leaving and that I didn't want to reschedule because her behavior was so hostile and her communication was defensive. When I asked for my deposit back she declined. I've taken the time to write this review because I don't want anyone else to have a negative experience with this shop or its owner Gianna. She doesn't posses the communication skills necessary to collaborate with others or the empathy needed to work so closely with clients. Honestly, I've been tattooed by criminals with better communication skills. If you look a few reviews down you'll see that someone else has had a very similar experience with Gianna and that it is not an isolated event. You'll also see that Gianna left a comment of defense rather than diplomacy or personal responsibility for the clear harm that she caused (especially to the other person who left the shop in tears) or any of the situation. There are many other great tattoo shops in Brooklyn, such as Fleur Noire Tattoo. Please skip this shop and seek them out. read more

***DO NOT GO HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES*** Let me preface this by saying I'm not one to write bad reviews. I've been a waitress, retail worker, receptionist, assistant, and customer service rep for over 10 years. I know the right and wrong ways to interact with customers, and I give people the benefit of the doubt 99% of the time. However, this was hands down the worst experience I've ever had with a tattoo artist. If you want to be personally attacked, robbed, and gaslighted, head on over to Lil Baby's Bushwick. I went to see Gia for a continued consultation/tattoo session for a design we had met over in February '20. Once I was at the studio and Gia started to sketch the design on my arm, I expressed that the piece was much larger than what I was comfortable with. Gia then became hostile and agitated with me, saying she couldn't make it any smaller as it would be a "shitty" tattoo. Mind you, the area she covered was half of my arm. I have numerous other tattoos that are smaller and so to hear this was a little odd. When I asked her if it was possible to redesign the piece to be smaller, she then started to gaslight me, telling me that she thought I was just nervous and didn't know what I wanted (again, this is a design I've wanted for over a year and originally met with her 8 months prior). Gia then told me to go home and think about it, and that she would text me later. As I got up to leave from the studio, I tried to be polite and to thank her for her time. She then mentioned her hourly rate was $200, and at that point I had been there for an hour an a half. Note, consultations are FREE. When I said that no tattooing had been done, she then said she would take the money as a deposit on the tattoo. I felt bullied and threatened by this woman and just wanted to get out of there, so I handed her $300 and left. I subsequently burst into tears the moment I left the studio, as I felt violated and robbed. I've never EVER been treated like that by a tattoo artist, and I have my fair share of tattoos. I went home and after being comforted by my friends and family, I politely texted her saying that it would be best to not go forward with the tattoo and that I would like my $300 back. Gia never responded to my text, but sent me a two page rambling and emotional email stating that I was entirely in the wrong and that I had "tipped" her $300 for the consultation, a FREE service. I was shocked that she responded so unprofessionally. How are you supposed to run a business by demonizing your customers? I responded asking for my $300 back a second time, as it was a deposit for a tattoo I never received. Again, I received a three page emotional and rambling response blaming me for the entire experience and that went into detail to personally insult and degrade my character. Gia then ended the email saying any further contact from me would be considered harassment by her. I read this with my mouth open in utter disbelief. What had first been a strictly business request for a refund had now turned into an vicious personal attack. I do not know this woman AT ALL, yet she is talking to me like a bitter enemy she's hated for years. This is not how you should treat anyone, least of all a paying customer. I'm now forced to go through legal action to get my $300 back. Go here at your own risk. read more

She's the kind of tattoo artist that can do pretty much anything, is easy to work with, and always takes her time in the consultation, placement, and tattooing processes.
