Burned my two small pizzas for $50. Meat tasted like it came out a can. I was not happy at all.

The pizza has this really good sweet-and-spicy sauce, and I loved the honey butter crust--so good. Everything was delicious and I'd definitely recommend it. Only issue: I really wish there was an option to pay in person. Having to scan your phone and pay that way isn't for everyone--there should be some kind of in-person payment option too. I don't know what this man's intentions were, but he could've came up to me and just simply asked "are you doing okay? is there anything i can do for you?" instead of scooping me out as if i was getting ready to commit a crime. as I spend more time being back in my home in Detroit, i'm just not understanding why it's too difficult to receive decent and humane customer service. i'm just in complete concern & dismay due to this experience, do so much better.

Coming in at #9 was Grandma Bob's in Detroit, Michigan. Since I already had a trip to Detroit coming up, I decided I had to add it to my list. I skipped the Lobster Pizza and created my own topping combination instead. Listen... I only made it through 3 of the 6 slices of this Detroit-style deep dish goodness. This pizza was amazing. Thick but not heavy, completely different from Chicago deep dish. Cheesy, buttery crust perfection. Detroit and Grandma Bob's ... you did not disappoint. #TeamFatAndHappy

Dear reader, Grandma…read moreBob's in Detroit was such a good find and very much the sort of place that makes you immediately understand why people keep talking about it. I got the mushroom Detroit-style pizza and absolutely loved it. The crust was beautifully crispy, the toppings tasted fresh, and the whole thing had that rich, satisfying quality that makes you slow down a bit and appreciate what is happening. Quite a triumph, really. I also really appreciated how many vegan options they had, including vegan pizzas and milkshakes, which feels both thoughtful and refreshingly modern without making a fuss about it. It makes the menu feel more fun and more inclusive, which is always a point in a place's favour. The prices were great, everyone working there was extremely nice and friendly, and the restaurant itself was decorated in such a cool way. It had a great vibe, stylish without being try-hard, and felt like somewhere you could happily settle in and stay a while. Overall, a thoroughly delightful stop and one I would gladly return to.

The brewery splits their offerings between Jolly Pumpkin sours and North Peak Brewing Company's variety of styles. My husband ordered a Jolly Pumpkin pint right away. I wanted to try a flight but needed time to choose. Our bartender Lenice gave me all the time I needed. When a couple of my picks weren't available, she brought me samples of other beers to try. I liked one of the samples. Jason, the manager, helped me make my final selection. I don't typically drink sours, but these weren't the kind that make you pucker. They were subtle. Definitely my kind of sours. Jason shared stories about the brewery's history and owner. His knowledge and enthusiasm for the place really came through. Lenice stopped by a few times to check if we needed anything. Both Lenice and Jason made this visit memorable. Lenice kept the energy light and friendly. Jason's passion for his work and the brewery added depth to the experience. If you're in the area and want good beer with even better service, stop by Jolly Pumpkin Brewery.

I wouldn't sit here for hours on end because the seats aren't particuly cozy, but the vibe is totally welcoming and the people that work there have always been very friendly and nice. I've been able to get good recommendations for drinks when I can't quite choose. I think the beer selection is always varied. I like a sour, farmhouse, saison, etc and the options are always pretty good. If in the area, I would not hesitate to bring a friend or visitor.
