The Melanee (beet infused mezcal cocktail with Reposado, lime juice and pineapple/ginger syrup)
    Melanee D.

Truly enjoyed my time at Mad Nice. Sat at the bar and was greeted immediately. Actually had two bartenders assisting. The first, I now regret not asking his name, gave me a taste of a beet infused mezxal they are testing for spring and offered to make me a cocktail after seeing that I loved it! The cocktail was amazing. Something I couldn't wait to try again. Asking what the name of it is, he said he made it up. It wasn't one on the menu. So we decided to call it The Melanee, after me of course . I wasn't all that hungry but I ordered a pizza but while waiting I had some of the salad my sister in law ordered. It was delicious. Again, didn't catch the name but it had nuts and radishes tossed in a very different tasting ranch dressing. The pizza was what you'd expect it to be in a top tier Italian restaurant. Crust was just thick enough to hold up the heavy sauce and the toppings were quality. But, what took me over was dessert. So glad Tiana (fantastic server, I did get her name) suggested we take a look. I'm a sucker for a good Gelato and once I saw it on the menu I had to get it. But all I saw was for $25. Asking the crafter of The Melanee about it, he explained it was huge. I only wanted a taste so he pointed out The Sando. Perfect choice! It was everything I could have asked for and more! The almond brittle I wished I could buy in bulk! Will be going back for a few more cocktails and to order dessert first!

Mad Nice absolutely lives up to its name -- stunning space, great energy, and genuinely excellent food. We ordered the octopus, gem salad, Guanciale pizza, and duck pastrami cavatelli, and every dish delivered. The octopus was perfectly tender with a light char and great balance. The gem salad was crisp, fresh, and surprisingly addictive. The Guanciale pizza stood out with its nutty richness from the pine nuts, balanced by the sweetness of figs and a light, crispy crust. The duck pastrami cavatelli was rich, savory, and comforting without feeling too heavy. Beyond the food, the space is beautiful and thoughtfully designed. There's a coffee shop that's great for daytime visits, plus a private dining room that would be perfect for birthdays, group dinners, or special events. The atmosphere feels elevated but still warm and fun. Service was friendly and attentive, and the overall experience felt polished without being stuffy. A great spot for date night, celebrations, or hosting out-of-town guests -- definitely one I'll be coming back to.

If you're looking for one of the best dining experiences in Detroit, Mad Nice is not to be missed. Mad Nice delivers modern Italian fusion with a handcrafted feel, and the food is truly exceptional. The lobster appetizer alone is one of the top five dishes I've eaten in my life. It's that good. The pizzas deserve their own moment. We've eaten pizza all over Italy, and somehow these stand right alongside the best. The sourdough crust is light, perfectly balanced, and the ingredients are incredibly fresh. Every bite feels thoughtful and intentional. The atmosphere is just as special as the food--inviting, lively, and perfect for gathering with friends. It's one of those places you want to come back to again and again. What really elevates the experience, though, is the hospitality. Our favorite server Rob and manager Jeff are masters of what I would call "unreasonable hospitality." They remember our favorite dishes, surprise us with things we love even when we don't order them, and never let us leave without a special touch. It's rare to feel that genuinely cared for at a restaurant. And don't overlook brunch. Their house-made sourdough bagels--served in a variety of creative ways--are phenomenal and worth the visit alone. Detroit has an incredible food scene, and Mad Nice is absolutely one of the standouts.

The cutest chic restaurant in detroit!! The food is high quality and can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The servers here are very friendly and knowledgeable with their recs. I've loved every time I have come here. Definitely need a reservation because this place is popular. Perfect for a cute girls night out or date night!

The vibe was fantastic -- fresh, fun, clean, and full of personality. It's the kind of place where you instantly feel good walking in. The space is an influencer's dream too, with plenty of spots to grab a great photo. The staff was amazing. From the hostess who gave some great recommendations to our waitress who steered us toward the Street Waffle we're still talking about. They really went above and beyond, which is rare to find these days. The food was a HIT! The Street Waffle was crisp on the outside, light and fluffy inside, and just perfect with a little butter and syrup. We also tried the Dirty Diner Pie and Omelette, both delicious and full of flavor. Overall, it's a spot I'd definitely come back to -- perfect for brunch, drinks with friends, or grabbing a bite before catching a show. I could totally see this place fitting right in at Somerset or Birmingham.

I don't usually write reviews much anymore but last night our experience was so wonderful. We've been to mad nice lots of times, but last night the food, the ambience, the service was A1. Everyone so kind and made sure we were taken care of amazingly especially the two female bartenders they were lovely and always on it. Love love love mad nice, they were more than accommodating and we will be back soon. The pomodoro pasta Omgosh AMAZING. And cacio Pepe always great. The sparkling rose and matcha also wonderful. Everything was just on point and we so appreciate it especially after 3 other restaurants turning us down, mad nice really made our night by getting us in. They'll be our first choice now, it's hard to get out these days with twin babies, and they made our experience SO worth it! Thank you so much!!!! Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5

A lively, bright, Italian-inspired spot with a warm, welcoming energy from the moment you walk in. The hostess was fantastic, the room had plenty of tables, and the vibe felt alive without being chaotic. Smiling faces everywhere -- friendly staff and genuinely knowledgeable servers set the tone right away. The menu is broad and tempting, so naturally we had to sample a little of everything. We started with shishito peppers and grilled octopus, both absolutely outstanding. The Little Gem salad had a Caesar-style twist that worked beautifully, and the lobster salad they brought out for us was fresh, flavorful, and downright delicious. For pizza, we went with the Patate -- a bold choice with potato, Parmesan, and rosemary. Unexpected, a little wild, and surprisingly excellent. Main courses included agnolotti pasta, rotisserie chicken, and rib cap -- all cooked perfectly and worthy of a repeat order without hesitation. Service was top-notch from start to finish, and the manager Tatiana took exceptional care of us. A great experience all around and a place we'd gladly return to.

This has only been my second time here but I absolutely ADORE this restaurant! We came for brunch on our anniversary weekend and enjoyed our entire experience here! I love all the pinks and greens in there. The interior is so aesthetically pleasing! We were given an anniversary card which is super sweet! I'm grateful for the extra thought:) We both loved our coffees! We both were given little blondies with them. Which is so neat! I don't think of anything that could please me more than a sweet treat coming at the same time as my coffee. My bf ordered the Biscuit Sando and loved it! I took a bite and the biscuit tasted homemade and it was delicious. I ordered the Steak & Eggs Benedict. The poached egg and steak was sitting on top of croissant toast. Croissant. Toast. It was hands down one of the best Benedict's I've ever eaten. I loved the tanginess of the hollandaise too We shared a Street Waffle as a sweet treat... it was so yummy! I need the recipe haha We ended the brunch with a digestif but I'm not sure exactly what it was but it tasted amazing. Loved the atmosphere of this place, our server was incredible, & the food was delicious! Best time! Please check this place out! Loved the brunch and dinner is great too!

Mad Nice has a cafe on the rear end of it (with parking included!!!) The first dozen customers get a free bagel. The space is so cute and open and there is a big open table in the back that you can work at! The coffee is half off during happy hour and worth a yummy latte for $3. I would say I love the cafe more than the restaurant so worth the visit in the midtown area.

Been wanting to try this place for a long time, and I'm so glad we finally did for a birthday celebration. The decor and vibe inside are awesome--they completely transformed the space. The standout dish of the night was the Duck Pastrami Cavatelli with parmesan broth, cured egg yolk, and sambuca. I know what you're thinking--sambuca in pasta? But trust me, it was incredible and so creative. The flavors blended beautifully and felt like elevated comfort food. Our server was super friendly and even helped us decide on a few dishes. She mentioned they try to make everything in-house whenever possible, which is always a great touch. The pizza was also very good! One unique dish we tried but didn't love as much was the Egg Yolk Ravioli with kombucha, chili, and black truffle. Still interesting, just not our favorite. And the birthday touches were so thoughtful--a signed card from the staff, a candle in our dessert, and a chocolate piece that read "Mad Nice Birthday." Such a great experience overall. Overall, it can be a bit pricey, but this place makes it worth it.

Our server shay was the sweetest!! Came for my friends birthday dinner. We got the sourdough to start (amazing every time!!) and I went with the truffle pizza for my meal. Careful with the "aq" make sure you ask before ordering (because I didn't ) and the pizza was $60!! Ended dinner w/ an affogato. For cocktails I got the Biarritz one. Ordered it because it had basil in it & I've been on a basil kick lately!! So yummy.

This is a very beautiful restaurant that gives coastal chic and preppy. It is a higher end restaurant so expect steep menu prices even for more basic items. This review is for their Brunch service. We came around 11 am on a Saturday and it was pretty empty. We tried the Omelette, Quiche, softy bagel and cinnamon roll. Food was good but wasn't anything special for the price. Recommend the toasted pistachio latte. Of note - They charge for water and we didn't know this until getting our bill and seeing "vero still water" on the bill. Not sure if they have tap for no charge.

First, the place is so welcoming. Several different rooms as well as the outside patio, which has bocce ball. It was too warm & humid for us, so we sat inside at a table near the bar. The servers were all very friendly; it seemed a different person brought each course. We had the bread service and calamari for an appetizer. The bread and herb butter were very good, and I understand that it does cost the restaurant to serve it, but $7 seemed like a lot to me. I also enjoyed the calamari. I had the pasta Bolognese (they had some other name for it), which is one of my favorite kinds of pasta. This did not disappoint. I loved the super wide papardelle noodles (also a favorite!) and the small scoop of cheese (burrata, maybe?) on top. My sister had the mushroom pizza (also with a different name). We did two orders each of the focaccia (the whipped gorgonzola served with it was SO good), the farinata (the chickpea pancake), the artichokes, and the asparagus. My mom and I also decided to order separate pasta dishes and split them, I went with the carbonara and she went with the stuffed shells (conchiglie alla norcina). Hands down my favorites were the artichokes and the asparagus. So fresh and flavorful! The stuffed shells were also quite good and quite a hearty portion. Admittedly my least favorite dish was my carbonara. It was very pepper forward which I'm not super crazy about. I anticipated that given the base is their cacio e pepe but I was curious to try it as the chef intended but for me it was a bit too much. It was still very good, but next time I'd ask them to go a little easy on those extra pepper grings to match my personal palate a little better. For dessert we split the dark chocolate gelato and it was so good and VERY rich. Perfect for splitting. Our server (whose name I forgot which is a bummer) was so great! She explained she was in training and to forgive any mistakes but there were none! She knocked it out of the park. My cousin (the celebrant) also has several nut allergies and they were incredibly accommodating and checked in with us regularly to make sure everything was good for her. They also offered little touches for celebrations which were quite nice and made us happy we selected them for the special occasion. They sweetly added some congrats messaging to my cousin on her dessert, gave her a greeting card signed by the whole staff, and a bag of their milled flour for pancakes as a little parting gift. She felt very spoiled and it was very sweet! Overall, it was an incredible experience. Looking forward to my next visit already! Especially when celebrating a special occasion!

My first impression: Noisy! Lots of hard surfaces. Difficult to hear the hostess, server and my wife. The tables were appropriately spaced for diners and servers to work with no bump & grind. We started by sharing a dozen oysters and the pear/walnuts salad. The oysters were a bit small-ish; but otherwise, excellent. Server took a drink order from my wife, but skipped me. Eh? I flagged down another server to order a Pino. It took a surprisingly long time to arrive. On the plus side, I was offered a taste to insure it was satisfactory - it was. The pear salad w/walnuts was excellent. The pears were sliced paper-thin. One of the joys of eating a properly ripened pear is the juicy explosion and thinly sliced pears defeat the juicy explosion. If the pears were fully ripe, perhaps cube them? Weirdly; the two sides (mushrooms, potatoes) were served before the entrees. The server noticed, seemed surprised and withdrew the sides, returning with our entrees (lamb shoulder, steak). Then the side returned. Both entrees were warm-ish and the sides were hot. The 14-day, dry-aged steak was ordered medium-rare and was seasoned and prepared as ordered. Again; warm-ish, not hot. I expected better beefy flavor for a dry-aged steak. One end was a bit chewy. Tenderness improved as I got to the other end of the steak. I ordered it with horseradish. I will admit to being a weirdo who loves spicy horseradish (and wasabi) that will clean the sinuses - this was "Ohio-spice'd" horseradish ... not creamy, but less spicy than Arby's Horsey sauce. The mushroom and the potato sides were served hot from the kitchen. Both were excellent, no complaints. The presentation of the steak needs improvement. It was a properly prepared, lonely lump of brown, served on a white plate with cracked ceramic glaze. The lamb shoulder was the better entree. For some reason, my wife was expecting Middle Eastern seasoning. The menu did not mention Middle Eastern seasoning and she did not ask, so that's on her, not the kitchen. I thought it was excellent. Gripe: After the entrees arrived, our server did not return to ask if the entrees were satisfactory. She did return later to ask if we wanted a second round of drinks. We did ... We were offered dessert and ordered, but never asked if we wanted coffee or an after dinner drink. Both desserts were excellent. Will we return? Probably ... not. With tip; dinner for two was $286. At this price point I expect better: Less noise, better beef and flawless service.

The decor is so cool and comfortable. The food was first rate, but what really made our visit so awesome was the friendliness and professionalism of the wonderful people who work there. First of all our waiter Scott, just a really fun guy who was so personable. He took such great care of us and seriously made our night!! All the other people we met were also great; they had a family vibe where you could tell they really liked each other. Everything we had was delicious and well prepared. The meatball, the watermelon and beet salad, the veal parmigiana.....yummy!! The desserts were over the top as well. We eat out quite a bit and this is the best restaurant we've been to in years!! The food, the atmosphere, the staff; all top notch!! You must try this place out, it's tha bomb!!

Adelina is a beautiful name for a great place, it looks larger from the outside but the inside was intimate with dimmed lights and a quiet bustle of business as you would expect for a restaurant. Starting off with an Espresso Old Fashioned, an interesting twist with caffeine, a little too murky taste wise but enjoyable. First course the octopus. Deliciously roasted and served with garbanzo puree. And some kind of poorly executed concasser tomatoes. Flavor was spot on and the meat was tender and savory. Hits all the points there. Main, consisted of the beautifully executed mushroom ravioli. Porcini mushrooms and truffles adorn the flavor profile. I ate this one slowly. It didn't miss a beat. Pasta was made in house which is the best way to enjoy any Italian meal. Lastly my server was so cordial and professional she made this a nice visit. Too bad I didn't have anyone to enjoy this with. Next time.

Let me say, this was such a fun experience, great company, great food and great service. Cibo Detroit has such an amazing vibe, well lit, bringing in a peaceful but fun energy and great art decor, making it feel very upscale. The food matched the ambience, everything was delicious. The brussel sprouts had the perfect amount of char, the steak was very tender. This is definitely a place we'd go back to at some point!

We came around 5pm so it was still during their new happy hour (4-6, M-F) we ordered some cocktails which were tasty. Cocktails were all $12 during happy hour. We also got two apps from the HH menu, and one app from the regular menu. The pizza tasted like it came from a pizza oven which was great, the palomino dip was rich with flavor, and the shrimp had a great flavor to them. For entrees we got the salmon, meatball, and crab orchettie, probably spelled wrong lol all had good flavor. The polenta with the meat ball was a bit flavorless but over all good. When our bill came we noticed there was 15% gratuity already added and a 5% "service fee" also noticed the HH prices weren't applied. Our waitress did fix it quickly, which was appreciated. Overall a good dinner and will be back to try the brunch.

It's a smaller restaurant, but they make efficient use of the space by utilizing the bar and pizza area for seating. Upon getting there, we were greeted by extremely friendly staff. They did not have any tables available, but they would soon. They told us to walk around, and they would call us. They did, and we had a table within 30 minutes. Every bite of food we ate was divine! The limoncello wings were some of the best wings I have had. I usually don't get excited over calamari, but this calamari was fantastic. Our entrees were extremely delicious. What is not pictured is the octopus appetizer that my son got. Holy moly this was one of the best things we ordered!! I highly recommend this place and will be back on my next visit to Detroit!

I just wanted a quick lunch before heading out later and ended up having a great experience. The bar was pretty lively for a Friday afternoon, even before work officially ended, but I was still able to snag a seat. The staff was super friendly, which made it even better. I ordered the vodka chicken parm along with a drink special since happy hour was just starting. The portion was massive, easily one of the biggest chicken parms I've had, and it came with a full serving of spaghetti. For around $25, the value was excellent. Super filling and really well done. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. Great Italian food and great value.
