My friend has been telling me amazing things about this place, and we finally got a chance to meet up here. I loved the huge mural on their window; it looks fun! My son loves everything about space, and that first thing he noticed was the huge astronaut in the mural. When we walked in, we were greeted with a huge smile. Right away, I could tell that the owners are great people who truly care about their customers. I wasn't familiar with their menu and was surprised at the different options that they have. My kids wanted to try their 11 mini donuts with Oreos and chocolate drizzle! They loved them! It was fun being able to watch them make the mini donuts! They pour the fresh batter into their donut maker. Once the mini donuts are done, they serve them in a small foil pan with a small plastic fork! I loved the presentation. Love mini donuts. It's what I waited for yearly at the VC fair. Now I don't have to because they're open on Ashwood in Ventura! I can see this business has been struggling to get more customers in and it is sad at times to watch. This local business is trying so hard like many. I really hope to see them succeed. I loved my dozen mini donuts and I ate them all by myself. Cooked perfectly and each bite was a bite into nostalgia. The pricing is a bit high in my opinion for mini donuts . I saw 36 mini donuts are $20 bucks and I paid $9 at the fair. A dozen is around $7 at their shop. What isn't pricey nowadays though. Perhaps if the prices were lowered a bit they'd see a bit more foot traffic but then again ...rent, insurance, utilities are high for a business. I paid $20.00 for 36 mini donuts. I paid with a credit card. I brought them to my students. We discussed our rating together. We are awarding these donuts 3 stars. They were doughy & undercooked. I ordered the sugar & caramel. I think that the gentlemen forgot the caramel. There was 5 other customers behind me. I believe that they cook when you get there. Last Saturday morning was my first time in this very unique Donut Shop. I was greeted by a gentleman who turned out to be the owner. He could not have been more nice and pleasant.. Well, let's put him aside. I ordered nine of the miniature donuts and chose to go with a type of a raspberry squeeze that was generously dribbled over them. You have to remember these donuts are small maybe the size of a silver dollar and that's why they give you a little fork with it. That makes you feel like you're literally having dessert. They were amazing. The owner was cool enough to have snuck one in and made it 10. Now the only thing bad about the 10th DoNut is that there was not an 11th... If you get my point. I've had donuts and desserts were the first few tastes are the best and the rest were just to finish what I bought. These minis continue to taste as good as the first. If you wanna know more about it, the owner will tell you everything in terms of the different flavors and accents that they place to create others. They were quite busy when I was there and for an obvious reason. They're on Ashwood right next to the junior college. Though they were busy the owner made me feel like I was the only one in the store. Now, let me throw this in while I'm taking the time to leave this review. THERE COFFEE IS AMAZING! No burnt Starbucks taste. It was just perfect. I mentioned it to the owner and he humbly responded that he hears that all the time and by the way, their coffee was extremely reasonably priced. I give the place an A+. And for the rest of you who are reading this to know, I don't know if I've ever in the last five years left five reviews. This one definitely warranted it. I visited the shop this week. I ordered 8 cinnamon and sugar. They were put in an aluminum "to go" container which was strange to me. (May I suggest Just putting them in a bag so they can keep eachother warm! Save some money) I drove away disappointed even tho I ate them right away.......they were almost cold, they lacked cinnamon and they were much smaller then expected.
