I can only speak to their maple bars but this is one of the best maple bars I've ever had. Just one bite and I knew I'd be coming back. This donut shop located in a good location with lots of foot traffic and car traffic. The donuts are tasty and the shop offers lots of varieties. The cost is fair, especially if you pay by cash. They disappoint me on a Saturday morning by not having any glazed donuts available at 6:20 am. I left ordering only their cake donuts. So I had to go to another local donut shop to get the glazed dozen. The service is average and store seems clean and organized. I recommend you are located in Old Town Camarillo. read more

Went here this morning and picked up some ham & cheese croissants along with an assortment of donuts with sprinkles for the crew at work. Usually I go to rolling pin but often they are either closed or already sold out of the good stuff so I decided to try a new place. Sorry to tell you this Rolling Pin the Donut Queen brought her A-game and kicked you to the curb. D-Queen's croissants were big, fluffy, buttery and more delicious than my beloved Rolling Pin but, that's not all! The donuts were cooked in a way that made the outside crispy and the inside pillow-like without being heavy and greasy. No burping up greasy donuts the rest of the day and believe me this has stopped us from having donuts in the past. I hope that I just didn't happen along on a good day, I hope each visit is as good, we'll see! read more

My friends and I were looking for something to tame our sweet tooth, so we went on a drive and came across Donut Queen. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the two really sweet workers. I got a ham and cheese croissant and I think that was something to add to my list of the best eats lol. It was really that good. Got there a little before 10 on a Friday night with hopes of satisfying my donut craving, but was devastated to see they only had about 7 or 8 donuts left which looked very crusty and hard. The worker said they wouldn't be making a new batch of donuts till "way later". He never gave an exact time for when they were making more. If this truly was a 24 hour donut shop, then they should have an assortment of donuts available 24 hours a day.. I'm usually more concerned about being sure about a place where I've formed a negative impression than a positive one, but it feels a little weird because I end up skipping over places I thought were pretty good for places I thought were bad. In this case, they're open late, they have easy parking and a dining room with plenty of capacity, and they have fountain drinks instead of just canned and bottled stuff. They also seemed to be marginally cheaper than standard donut pricing. On the other hand, the chocolate chip roll I tried was as hard as a rock, and the woman running it (I presume the self-anointed donut queen) just came off mean, which is weird because donut shop owners generally have soft, friendly personalities like the people at Fostar's. I went back to double-check the taste, and well, sometimes first impressions are right. The frosting's slightly below par, generally with a sort of grocery store feel and needing to be thicker and sweeter. The dough's the real problem, though, which is really bitter-tasting for a donut and has a sort of tough consistency. The donut queen even sort of snapped at me again for doing nothing except walking in and ordering. I think I'll be sticking to Rolling Pin if I'm in Camarillo. read more

Me and two of my friends were just coming back from Wreck It Ralph when we decided to go for donuts at around 11:30 PM. The menu says 9 dollars for a dozen special donuts. After we got a 6 donuts, 3 of which were filled donuts, the man behind the counter tried telling us he is going to have to charge us more if we get more special donuts despite having to pay for a dozen. He hassled us some more. Went to the back, came back a minute later. We finally chose the last 6, 2 of those were specials. We were afraid he'd force us to pay more or he wouldn't give us the donuts. We then went to buy chocolate milk. The price on the board CLEARLY states that a small carton of chocolate milk is 1 dollar and a larger one is like 1.75 dollars.... He goes to the fridge and pulls out a small carton and says it's 1.50 and the larger one was again a price higher than the posted price. I don't know what type of ethics or tricks they teach their employees. But this was one of the first times someone has ever tried to so blatantly rip me off. After going somewhere else for milk (shout out to the 7/11 gas station who treated us well) we finally went to eat the donuts... at least 5 of them were stale... My custard filled donut included with a partially foul tasting custard. I don't know if he's paying people for the kinds of reviews he's getting or maybe there's a non sleazy morning worker or if the people posting are family or friends... There's just no way a store with these reviews could act like that. I question the reviews he's been getting sorry folks. read more

I regretfully decided to stick with a plain croissant due to my internal complexities, but looking back, a ham and cheese croissant would have done me justice above all else. Yeaahh! Donut Queen rocks! I pick up my weekly dozen here and they never fail to impress me. The all glazed dozen runs about $6.75 and they comp me a baker's dozen. The donuts are light and airey, somewhat like Krisy Kreme except minus the prices. My favorites here are the chocolate glazed, apple fritter, cinnamon crumb and maple bar. It looks owned by a local family. They also have ham/cheese croissants which are good enough to have for lunch. If you're in the Old Town Camarillo area, make sure you stop by to say hi and grab a donut or a few. They're good! read more

The donuts here are pretty good, not the best Ive had ever but the better ones in this area! I came here to satisfy an intense donut craving late at night after a hard study session, and let me tell you, this place disappointed me... Their donut selection was not great for a donut establishment that is open "24 hours" and when a group of friends and I asked the employee if there was going to be more donuts made he said, I don't know. This place is decent. They have all the classic donut flavors and a nice view to the street. The lady that has helped me each time is not very chipper however she is efficient. A couple of times that I've asked for a large amount of donuts they've even tossed in a free one or two. Overall this is a good second or third choice from Rolling Pin. read more

Funny I never tried this place before.... so I did! It was okay, I got a mocha capp (which came out to be very creamy, much more than other places) and the donuts I got were pretty good. But I think oilier/greasier than other places? The young man (in his early twenties?) was probably the owner's kid, and he was nice but seemed to be bored and wishing he was someplace else. Come to think of it, when I entered, the place was empty seeming to be unoccupied by even workers, but he popped out of his hiding place within 1-2 mins. The have Thai iced tea! That alone is what keeps me coming back. Their donuts are average and their croissants are a little overcooked. I don't think they're open late anymore. But if you like to get up early and you're a creature of habit then you might appreciate this place. Whenever I go the lady remember me and what I always get. I like that in a donut joint. read more

Heads up, CASH ONLY! I come here every week to pick up two dozen donuts for my work. Basic dozen costs you just under $8. Nice variety of tasty donuts. They have big fluffy croissants, bagels, and offer ham, egg, cheese sammiches. Not the most amazing donuts, definitely good though. Best part is everyone who works there is always very friendly. I was so dissappointed to find out that they only accept cash! I decided to drive around only to find out that this was the only place in Camarillo ready to sell donuts at 7am.
