Me and my buddy wanted to get some sushi the other night and we happened across this gem. As soon as we walked in it was like we were transported through time back too old time Tokyo. The ambiance was amazing and we decided to sit at the bar. Immediately we were greeted by Kasey. She was amazing and gave us an in-depth tour through their menu as well as A Japanese history lesson. She set us up with the best sake and food. I had a sea weed salad to start that you would have thought was just brought in off the boat, then a miso soup to begin my tasting adventure. Then I went with a half & half chicken and shrimp hibachi. Every bite I took i could hear the hustle & bustle of street carts and if I closed my eyes I could picture being in Tokyo 500 years ago. Otay, so hands down the freshest, best tasting, and most generous portions of sushi in Myrtle Beach, no question. You will pay for it though as you should for great sushi. Clean place, we'll run, nice decor. Really no happy hour to speak of. If you're looking for discount sushi, or sushi on a budget to feed the whole family this isn't it. They have hibachi tables too and I'll bet it's equally as good. All in all very good experience just a little sticker shock. Also, the prices on the menu posted online are wildly different. They have a great sushi happy hour and a well priced early bird hibachi menu. The regular hibachi menu also offers Tofu which was great for my wife who is vegetarian. They have been great about accommodating food requests (like please keep the shrimp away from the Tofu or chicken, also saw someone ask for broccoli only for their veggies). The chefs don't ask a bunch of intrusive questions or inappropriate jokes which we like. read more

We just had the best experience we've ever had at a Hibachi table type restaurant. Lincoln was the best Teppanyaki chef!!! We had one person who had an egg allergy and an autistic person at our table. He was able to serve the egg allergy person their rice first so the rest of us could still have egg. He checked with us before doing the fire theatrics to make sure it wouldn't bother our son. He tried to engage him throughout the meal which was awesome. I came to Little Tokyo for my birthday dinner and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I read the other Yelp reviews, so I wasn't surprised when our drinks didn't come on time. The food was excellent, and our Habachi chef was entertaining. My only con was that it was hot in there. Please, for the love of God, turn up the air. I ate here during my trip to Myrtle Beach, SC for a 5-day weekend and I wanted some sushi. I went here between lunch and dinner time which was around 3pm, therefore, it wasn't that busy at the time. The server named Katherine is not a very great listener. I had to ask for more sauce for my appetizer multiple times. I bought the Yelp deal which is to spend $25 for $30 worth of food which was enough for my whole dinner. I checked into Yelp at Lil Tokyo and got a free Japanese Egg Roll coupon that I wanted to use. My server Katherine tried to charge me for the full price of the egg rolls towards the end of the meal, which I wasn't happy about. The egg rolls were not that flavorful, it had two pieces sliced in half to make four pieces total. The inside filling was not significantly tasty enough because it was deep fried and had minimal sauce on it. Therefore, I had to rely heavily on the sauce to call it edible. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken hibachi entree that came with the mushroom soup and ginger salad. I also ordered the Dragon Roll. The Teriyaki Chicken was really delicious, I always like anything with teriyaki flavor and I got a side of yum yum sauce to dip with it, which made it even better tasting. It came with a lot of chicken and some mixed veggies with fried rice. The dragon roll had shrimp tempura, cucumber, topped with avocado and cooked BBQ eel with roe and sesame seeds. it was my favorite sushi roll. Highly recommend if you like all of those ingredients in a sushi roll. The ginger salad was very plain even with the ginger dressing. On top of the mushroom soup that was very light, it almost tasted like hot water with two pieces of mushroom, but it was fine since the entree and dragon roll made up for it. Overall, the service wasn't that great when I went. However, the majority of the food I ordered made up for it. But the food is excellent and the chef that cooked for us was very entertaining and took time to engage the children and make the experience memorable for the entire family. Called several days ahead to make a reservation. When we arrived (about 5 minutes early) we were told it would be a few minutes. We waited 15. Nobody spoke to us again and several people were seated while we waited. We decided to leave and there was no concern or apology when we said we would cancel the reservation. WATCH OUT!!!! I was poisoned last night by their sushi. I had been there before with my kid with no problems. There was a new guy serving the sushi this time during the happy hour. Not sure if they aren't getting rid of old fish to save on cost, buying bad fish without knowing, or not keeping their fish at proper temperature, but either way, I don't want anyone to go through what I have been through all night. Came here for some hibatchi with the girls :) With our reservation we immediately sat down at our table. Our chef was fun and quirky while making the food which made the experience entertaining. I decided to go against my norm. At Japanese steakhouse and get filet and scallops. The entree came with a mushroom broth soup which was pretty tasty. Then came the ginger salad which was also pretty good. We got our fried rice first which was kind of disappointing. Not that much flavor and only had small bits of egg in it. The veggies were pretty good as always. My filet was overcooked and was more medium then medium rare. It was still very flavorful but I am picky the way my meat is cooked. The scallops I thought were a bit too salty for my likely and a bit overcooked since they were being sauteed for so long. Everything was just okay but I've def. Had better Japanese steakhouse food. Prices are comparable to other steakhouses. There was also a disagreement at the table that the management did not handle well and charged our friend for a mistake the waitress made. read more

Oh...my god! It's the best place for rolls you guys, I haven't been so happy with food for a while. Me and my husband went there for a Valentines Day, they were steady but our food still came out pretty fast. I thought their prices were a little too high, but just until I actually got the food. Generous portions, decorated with little cute flowers, tasting sooo good!! Seriously, can't wait to go back again. And the service of course. We came here in hopes of finding our go-to sushi place. We definitely found it. Started with the Japanese Egg Rolls which were delicious...very flavorful. Tried three different rolls, all of which were fresh and had great taste. The service was excellent. Our waitress made sure we didn't have any questions about the menu. Also was able to give good descriptions of any item on the menu we were considering. Restaurant is very big inside so they were busy, especially with the Hibachi tables, but the service did not suffer at all. Highly recommend you make this your go-to sushi place too! read more

Very average food. The chirachi was all rice and small pieces of fish. The unagi roll was good and my son liked his spicy salmon and spicy crab roll. We also enjoyed the Hana Sakes. This was our favorite restaurant on vacation! Our little one had a reaction to seafood our first night so we tried finding spots that weren't solely serving seafood. We love hibachi so we tried this spot out. It's located at the mall and is a large location but definitely really busy! We all really enjoyed our dinners! The food is okay . Mediocre . The energy of our chef was good but our waitress came , and it took so long for her to come take care of us. But honestly for gratuity, I would have expected more of a service then her half effort work. We tipped the chef so worry not about that. It's just almost $10 for a 40$ check as gratuity does make sense to me considering my friend had also about $5 each . That's about a $35 tip easy and my party eating was only 6 . Our chef ‍ was so entertaining and managed to pull the young and not so young into his shenanigans Part comedian, part magician, and part chef = loads of fun The 8 and 5 year old we were with loved every moment from the flipping of the egg into his chef hat to the catching of egg being tossed towards our mouths . With exception of the rice ,which was rather bland, the chicken and shrimp I got was cooked nicely and tasty . My friends and I went to this place and arrived at 7:45. We originally called to see if tables were available. They told us that we did not need to make a reservation and we walked in to them saying you need a reservation. They denied that we called them. We sat in a regular table that wasn't hibachi which we agreed to. When seated we got our orders taken. However at 9 was the first time we received food but only hibachi and the edamame came cold! Our waiter never even put in the right orders and when we got the check after having to go over to the bar... things on our bill was either missing or some random food we never ordered. We spoke to the manager... no one was okay except the chef!! Our sever never came and did refills, update us on our food, or anything!! Something was not right with the staff there!!
