Really frustrating experience at this dog park…read more Only two sections were open, which made it feel crowded right away. When I brought my dog into the large dog area, multiple dogs started bothering her, including one repeatedly trying to mount her. She was clearly uncomfortable and overwhelmed. The worst part was the owners--not paying attention and not stepping in at all. I was trying to leave, but the dogs crowded the exit and wouldn't back off. I had to physically push them away myself while my dog was getting stressed and pinned down. Dog parks only work when owners are responsible, and that was not the case here. Be careful bringing your dog here.

Signage was displayed everywhere, very easy to follow. So many volunteers for such an awesome event. I know that the event was the star of the day but it wouldn't have been possible without this great location. The park looks like it's well taken care of, with great potential and seems to offer many enjoyable areas for all ages.

But just after one visit we realized what an amazing park this is and often drive from two cities away just to visit. This park is a lovely escape to nature in South Florida. Boosting, many walking paths, bike paths, a dog park, a splash pad, frisbee, golf pitch, fishing areas, boating lake and many other sports areas. Overall, the paths pavement are generally well maintained, however, you do get a little bit of cracking as you do with most paved areas in Florida due to the heat- nothing too extreme, it was still easy to push a stroller. The bathrooms are always clean, yet admittedly, they are quite dated and dark on the inside, even though hygienically they are up to standards . Perhaps adding some better lighting on the inside could help make it feel a little nicer. Today while walking around the park, we visited many of the small playgrounds and our young child enjoyed getting out to play .

Other than that, the water and sand are always clean, it's easy to find, parking is always available at close-by meters, and the dogs are usually friendly and obedient.

I think that the ocean should be free but to each their own opinions. Better option is to find parallel parking IF you can. Anyways, pay $20 to park in the dedicated parking lot, pay your $11/dog for your dog passes, & then walk through the long tunnel into the beach, you can only go left once entered the beach with your dogs, must show your tickets/"dog pass" to whatever security guard that is at the beach entrance, should be a very quick ordeal and go about your business. Extremely packed beach, packed with a TON of dogs, very oddly enough, not everyone in the dog beach is "dog friendly" so keep an eye on your dog. Best deal is to come towards closing (for the sunset & the heat decrease) especially if you weren't planning on spending the entire day.

It's named after Mary Brandon, a local politician who served on the city's Parks and Recreation Commission in the 1960s. Established in 1999, this park holds the distinction of being the first dog park in the City of West Palm Beach. It features two separate fenced areas--one for small dogs (25 pounds and under) and another for larger dogs. Amenities include dog-friendly water fountains, play tunnels, as well as plenty of chairs, benches, and tables for owners to relax. In July 2019, the city unveiled a brand-new playground, replacing older equipment with updated, shade-covered slides and climbing structures. In addition to the dog park and playground, the park also offers picnic pavilions, a baseball field, restrooms, and a large open green space that's perfect for running around or getting some exercise. I really appreciate how the city created a space that caters to both kids and dogs. It's a welcoming, versatile park that serves the neighborhood well--perfect for a casual afternoon outdoors. I'd definitely come back, especially if I brought my dog or just wanted a quiet place to unwind outside for a while.

There is a nice playground area with a structure, benches, a softball field, a basketball court, a walking path, and open grass to run around in. For the pet owner, there are two dog "parks"/dog run areas for differing size dogs that are fenced in. When we stopped by, there was only one other car parked in the lot. It was lovely weather so I was surprised that more people were not taking advantage of the first sunny day in a while. There are some large old trees providing shade, too. We'd be here often if we lived in the neighborhood.

Informational plaques are posted throughout, making it easy to learn about the native trees and bird species you encounter along the walk. The boardwalk is also stroller and wheelchair friendly, so it truly is a place for everyone! Come prepared: hat, sunscreen, and binoculars are a must, and don't forget your walking shoes. If you live nearby and love the outdoors, this is also the perfect spot to get your steps in while soaking up nature and staying active -- a workout that doesn't feel like one! My husband and I originally planned a quick visit and ended up staying for nearly three hours -- this place has a way of pulling you in. We chose to walk the boardwalk first and save the nature center for last, but if you're visiting from out of area or just want more context before you explore, I'd recommend flipping that order. The nature center is packed with information about the wetlands ecosystem, the wildlife that calls it home, and the fascinating history of the site itself -- none of which I knew before visiting. Grab a map before you head out! On our walk, we spotted an alligator gliding through the pond, turtles, and an impressive variety of bird species. The sounds were incredibly peaceful, and the stretches of shaded tree hammocks offered the perfect reprieve from the sun. We came across Gumbo Limbo trees, sabal palms, and strangler figs among other beautiful native species. It was truly a magical experience, and I cannot wait to come back!

Each of the sections -- there are three --are fenced off and have rules, signs, etc., nearby. Two of the fenced off areas on the south side are for "big" dogs, that is, dogs over 35 pounds. And the northern most section is for "small" dogs -- under 35 pounds. The northern most area by the small dog section has the statue of Daxxx -- with his name tag -- and a plaque in memory of (former) Boynton Beach Police Officer Crowder. Each section has benches and a pavilion plus a field/dog run. When we stopped by on a cloudy day midweek, each section had a couple dogs (and their owners) enjoying the greenery, fresh air, and exercise.

Promptly assaulted by a not very well behaved dog who left immediately after, our pup took a few minutes before she opened up to play, but then she had a ball. The area is clean with lots of seats, space for the dogs to run, fresh water on hand, and poop bags provided as well. I was not a fan of the gates, most dog parks offer some sort of self latching feature to help prevent escapades, not so here. Of course there will always be the people who bring in dogs well past the size limits and justify it with, she's nice?, but otherwise it's a decent place for Fido to get out and stretch his legs...
