Nice place - decent mix of dogs on a Saturday morning. Lots of room. Oddly enough staffed by a park ranger who insisted that no balls were allowed. Huh? Their website does not have this rule. I went yesterday in the first time in years. When I lived in West Palm, it was around the corner and I took my beloved dog there often before we moved. It's located inside of Okeeheelee park and it's best to go to the west entrance for a quicker route. There are two areas - one for small and the other for larger dogs. The small is for 30 pounds and under and we went there since our puppy is a mini dachshund. Since it was his first time at a park, he was a little nervous at first, but he warmed up once he was there for a little while. Both of the areas are big with shaded areas and offer plenty of bags as well as water fountains for the fur babies and humans. It's best to go when it's not so hot out, which is in the early morning or late afternoon. The weather is a little more bearable in the fall and winter oppose to the spring and summer. Bring extra water and a toy/ball for fetch since there's plenty of room to run around. read more

This is a bit of a hike from my house. It takes about 20 minutes to get here but the other dog park is almost as far. It is located inside of Okeeheelee Park. It is more towards the back but I guess that depends on which entrance you come in from. They have 2 sizes small and large. My dog is 20 pounds and she goes on the little dog size. I typically go weekdays between 7 and 730 am and leave by 8am to make it to work by 9am. I very rarely ever have another dog on the little dog side. But there are always dogs on the big dog side. Very friendly people there early in the morning. I bring a ball and a thrower so my dog can chase the ball and get her worn our before work. One day I left late at almost 830 and there was about 4 dogs walking in at that time. We bought her once on a weekend, also early in the morning and again only 1 or maybe there were 2 dogs there. If you want alot of dogs, go later in the day if you can. If you go early in the morning you have pretty much the whole place with you and your pup on the little dog side. read more

I wasn't too impressed with the cleanliness of the park. There was a ripped McDonald's bag next to the trash can and It's common courtesy for owners to pick up after their dogs! I saw several huge dog wastes while walking around the big dog area. If I wasn't aware of where I walk then I would've stepped in poop. No wonder all the dog owners were just standing around! They didn't want to accidentally step in poop! One of the owners brought a bucket for water and I noticed the water that came out of the dog park faucet was ORANGE! He even said it didn't look right. Other than that, the park itself is pretty big. The big dog area is enough for Atleast 20 dogs, if not more. My dog had a great time and was able to social more esp when this park seemed busier than my local one. read more

Do not go here if you value the safety of your dog! I was there today and there were 2 large dogs people brought into the small dog area. One was a doberman who attacked my lil puppy and flung him in the air. We had to go to the ER. I could not locate a park ranger. Noone was there to help. My poor dog is badly injured now and scared . They need to have a park ranger there at all times to make sure the dogs are going to the right place or make another dog park for dogs of all sizes. My poor dog is only 8 lbs. Now he is bandaged up and can barely move. read more

I came one morning with my puppy for the first time. Lots of space and i like the way the park is set up to separate the dogs by size. It was mostly older people on the small dog side. I imagined more playing with the dogs rather than people sitting under the gazebo smoking cigarettes while the dogs roam freely. Underwhelming and kind of boring. Located in Okeeheelee Park, its a nice sized dog park separated by dog's size. As Lulu is tiny but fierce we ventured into the under 30 lb dog park and she automatically took off to play. We were easily there for two hours as more of our doggy friends showed up and she was able to race (the terrier in her can't seem to get enough of run time) and roll around in the grass. The variety of dogs and the size of the park makes it nice as dogs are not constantly bumping into each other (unless intentional for invitations to run) and aren't over powering the space making it hard for the humans to walk as well. Which brings me to the path that is around the grassy area which the dogs are playing on for the most part. Lots of benches for both doggy and owner to rest on. I can always tell when Lulu is ready to go as she comes and sits next to me on the bench and we people/dog watch for a bit before we head home. read more

I like this park and I'm sure my dog does too because she's DEAD after each trip here. This park has three fenced areas, one for small dogs (under 30lbs) and two for large dogs. But I've never seen both large areas open at the same time. This park has, I think, pretty much everything you'd want for a dog park. It's fenced in with big open spaces. Benches under large shady trees and a gazebo in each area. Multiple poop bag stations in each area. Water stations and a wash area for your stinkin' dog(s). And my favorite, the flies. That's actually a complain about this park. I'm not sure what can be done about the fly problem that's safe for the dogs. Maybe it's because people don't pick up after their dogs. Seriously...that's disgusting! You're gonna let your dog running around, rolling around on grass with SHIT everywhere? and then you let your dog into your car with SHIT! on it?? you make me sick!!! Eh, whatever. It's still a great dog park and I'm not going to stop taking my dog here because of some pesky insects. I just give my dog a bath afterward. read more

Great park; friendly people, separate areas for both small/medium and large dogs, dogs are somewhat under controlled by their owners (if they get too aggressive), a bathing area to clean off any dirt, etc on your dogs. With the extra land they have, they should expand it a little bit and add more parking spaces and add a somewhat small pool/water fountain area just for the dogs so they can run around and swim/roll around in while the heat is out. Just because some dogs can't be outside for more than 15 minutes or they will get a heatstroke. read more

My family has been bringing our dog to Pooch Pines for close to 5 years now and we don't have anything negative to say. The park is well maintained, cleaned often (you can tell they care about keeping it pristine!) and sometimes you'll see police officers checking tags to make sure the pooches are up-to-date on their vaccinations. That's comforting! Two sides to the park - one for little and one for big dogs. My girl is bigger (although she'd love to hang with the little ones) and enjoys running around; most of the time, she's trying to hang with the humans, though. Okeeheelee Park has done a fantastic job of introducing Pooch Pines into the community and I seriously can't say how wonderful it is to have this dog park in the neighborhood. read more

This is our favorite dog park! I have tried others and they don't match up! My pup is energetic, and so the big dog play area is fantastic for him. He takes off running when we arrive, and looks for playmates. He is never short, as there is always at least one other dog eager to run and play alongside him! The people and pups are all very friendly here. As a human, I love the path! It's so nice to be able to walk around, and not have to step on the grass! This dog park definitely feels cleaner than others too...although my dog will find the one dirt patch to try "cool off"...! I like how there are bags/trash cans provided to pick up after your dog, and what is really great is the separate hose area! This is perfect to be able to rinse off my dog, before putting him in the car! read more

Took my dog for the first time here and it was such a beautiful experience. She ran freely with a group of friendly dogs. The dog owners were super friendly as well. I have anxiety so I was really nervous about coming but it went away instantly when I saw how great the dogs and people were that were present. Highly recommended. This is the largest and nicest dog park in the West Palm area. It's close to where I live and within the immense and beautiful Okeeheelee Park. There are two sides (one for small dogs, one for large dogs) and people seem to respect the weight limit for the small dog side, for the most part. I can't comment much on the big dog side, but I have seen quite a few dog fights occur there (never on the small dog side). Anyway, there is a lot of grass for the dogs to run and play in and it's usually pretty clean and trimmed. Plus, there's a long walking path and plenty of benches, many of which have shade. My only complaint is that there aren't that many parking spots (lot gets full on weekends/holidays). Overall, I'd highly recommend it. read more

The dog park is nicely maintained and they have restrooms right by the entrance. My dog loves running around the enclosed area and there's even a water fountain his size. The park is spacious. 3 dog parks. But know that at all times, one of the 3 is closed for planned maintenance, leaving one large dog and one small dog park available. Well, the park looks nice but I couldn't go in since I have two dogs - one over 30lbs (40lb beagle) and one under 30lbs (15lb cocker mix) and there are two separate areas for dogs. Tried to go in under 30lb area and was told by several people to leave. Very disappointing. Guess you can't have two different sized dogs and go to this park. I'll have to find somewhere else I guess. read more

best dog park around! we drive a bit to get to this park but its always worth it. theres always lots of other doggies and the park is big inside with lots of shade and benches to sit on. there are divisions for different animal sizes and they even rotate between different areas to keep the grass fresh and alive. we love it read more

This dog park is really nice. Lots of grass and room to play. You do have to understand that all walks of life are going to come here. It is a pretty popular park. I have encountered many nice, friendly people here but have also had someone yell profanity at me because I stopped their dog from fighting with mine. After that incident my dog seems to get very anxious and doesn't like going to the park anymore which is a shame. They should open the third side for calmer, perhaps older dogs. read more

Nice dog park but many sick looking dogs. One had sores all over his body and the owner not well kept himself. Another for sure had mange. I left the park after seeing these dogs there. Time before 2 pit bulls entered park; they were puppies and they attacked a small dog very quickly. It was awful. Most fights are from pit bulls in every park we have been in. Owners seemed very nice so it's the breed unfortunately. read more

It's in a great location, and it's well maintained. When you drive up the hill, there are many parking spaces to choose from. There is a building that contains restrooms and water fountains. When you walk into the park, there is an entrance area that is gated (so that if a dog were to get out of the fenced in park , they wouldn't be able to run out into the parking lot or street), and wash stations. Then the park is divided into three fields, one for dogs under 30lbs and two for dogs over 30lbs. It is my understanding that they only use one "big dog" field at a time, and rotate every week or so for maintenance. Each field has a gazebo with benches, benches under trees, poop bag dispensers and waste bins, and water fountains for you and your dog. The reason I give it four stars is because I have a Golden Retriever and a Yorkie who are best friends and do everything together, but I wish they could play together and not be separated by the weight limitations, of which they are pretty strict about. It sucks though because I can only bring one of them at a time because you have to be in the field with them to supervise them. read more
