I saw Dr Lebas Monday after my new health insurance Dr would not re-flll my sleeping meds. I have been on sleeping pills for damn near 15 years. It started when my daughter wouldn't sleep through the night, so I never got back to sleep. Kaiser had given me this wonderful sleeping pill telling me it was not addictive!( yeah right!) 15 years later I am still taking them. Anyway its time to get off of them. Dr LeBas seemed knowledgeable at first. She explained how bad they were, but I already knew this from research i did. We are cutting my dose in half, and hoping it wont be to hard to get off them. Note to anyone, do not take sleeping pills anything past 8 weeks, they are highly addictive, and hard to get off! I will see her again next week, to see how I did with the lower dose. Wish me luck! :) Went today for my follow up, 9/22/14. I explained to Dr that I did not take the Depakote, as I will not take unnecessary drugs for something I do not have! She got upset and said she will no longer treat me, and I need to go elsewhere! I read such horrible things about Depakote on the manufacturers website. If someone just needs to get off their sleeping pill, they do not need a pill for manic depression! Really????? I was there for 5 mins, then asked to leave her office! Many Dr's care about making money and keeping you on drugs. I found a wonderful Dr that afternoon, willing to wean me off the way I was already doing it. with no adders. She is cruel and heartless. ZERO stars for this woman. I've held off on writing a review about Dr.Lebas for months now but today really sent me over the edge. I STRONGLY encourage anyone who is looking for a psychiatrist, to look elsewhere. Someone else mentioned that she really doesn't care about her patients and it's true. This is a person who is only in this for the money and could care less about the people under her care. It blows my mind that someone like this is allowed to practice medicine, let alone help people with mental illness. Trust me when I tell you that there are far better qualified, caring people who are passionate about psychiatry. Go find one of them. I refuse to return and give her anymore of my money and time. Yes she prescribed me my medication, but anyone can do that. Today I called ahead and let the receptionist know that I needed to come in because I would be flying with my Emotional Support Animal. The airline requests documentation from my psychiatrist saying that I am currently under their care and have been diagnosed with a mental illness that is listed in the DSM. The receptionist made the appointment and told me to come in. When I showed up for my appointment, Dr.Lebas looked at me and said, "I don't do that." You're telling me you can't put on a piece of paper that you're my doctor and that I have indeed been diagnosed with a mental illness? I demanded a refund on my co-pay (thankfully I got my money back) and left. When I asked her why she wouldn't do this for me, she had no real reason. Was I asking her to do anything illegal? No. Was I asking her to pretend that I was blind and I had a seeing eye dog? No. I have a mental illness and having my corgi with me helps me in social situations and my overall daily life. She even went as far as to suggest I get some random Doctor online to do it for me!!!! What?! Hahaha I've also had plenty of issues with refills not being able to be processed because she can't come to the phone or she claims she didn't give me a refill so that I'll have to come back and throw another bunch of cash at her. Nope. RUN FAR AWAY from this office. She needs to retire because she obviously doesn't care about helping people. read more

I honestly blame myself for not heeding the other one star reviews. Dr. Lebas is INCREDIBLY unprofessional. I actually felt unsafe at times. I went in for severe depression and felt dismissed constantly. I came for my second visit to hopefully be prescribed new antidepressants, and she told me I was wrong about my antidepressants not working (the ones I have been on for YEARS) and that if the didn't work, she would have prescribed me medicine our first visit. That's untrue, as she told me visit one she "wanted to get to know" me better before she gave me medicine. Don't ever trust a doctor who says that when they know you are in the middle of SEVERE depression with no working antidepressants. This second visit, when I asked about side effects to the drug she prescribed, she said there were none. Later, she decided to tell me mania IS a side effect of the drug. When I asked why she didn't tell me earlier, she said "there are too many side effects to talk about." And then when I said that she as my doctor should probably tell me the side effects of the medicine she prescribed and asked why she decided to tell me about mania after saying there were no side effects, she said "do you want to argue or do you want the information?" From the first visit I did not feel she was qualified but I decided to really give it an honest chance. For someone whose patients have delicate mental health, she is the bull in the china shop and then pretends it was all in my head and that she did nothing to exacerbate my deteriorating mental status. I will NOT be returning. I pray, please, PLEASE see a different psychiatrist other than Dr. Lebas. Let my mistake be your gain. read more

Originally given a "new" drug for depression, expensive and not covered by insurance. Given prozac which has side effects. I have left her a voicemail and called 3 times to talk to the office staff about having her return my call. I'ts been 8 days and still no phone call. She is new to private practice. Used to treat drug addicts. Won't prescribe any drugs that can be addictive. Wouldn't give me Ambien for sleep issues. Gave me Seraphin or something like that. It didn't put me to sleep, only made me feel like I was awake and in a paralyzing coma. She didn't offer anything else just told me not to take it. So nothing really gets resolved and she doesn't respond by phone. Has no email to write too either. I'm done with her. NEXT. read more

The most bizarre and unpleasant experience I've ever had in regards to a doctor. She emanates a judgmental attitude and energy that is quite the opposite of what you want from a psychiatrist. Her style of trying to "help" you involves what amounts to an interrogation and loads of negative vibes when you try to answer her questions (many of which were just silly - I came to her to change my medicine, not to be interrogated). I am a person who gets along with just about everyone I've ever met; it takes a real piece of work to get on my nerves, as I'm a kind, open, patient person. I frankly think she has some serious issues of her own that need to be addressed before she can even consider trying to help others. However, it's probably far too late for that in her life. (Her involuntary jaw movements seem to indicate a less-than-stable individual, who likely has some of the very problems she tends to "diagnose" others with.) Avoid, avoid, avoid. read more

I can't advise strongly enough against this doctor. She's astonishingly rude, arrogant, and not the expert she believes herself to be. I had two appointments with her and almost walked out of the second because of her unbelievably abrasive and confrontational attitude, and she prescribed me a medication that's bad for people with my health issues. I went to see Dr. LeBas over a year ago and recently found her card so needed to say why she is not a good psychiatrist. I had never had anxiety and panic attacks, but had a traumatizing event happen to me, and in the month after that event I had three anxiety attacks. I would wake up in the middle of the night shaking, or it would happen in the middle of the day with no obvious trigger. The next month I had one more and decided I wanted to talk to a doctor to see if I could get some medication for when I feel my anxiety getting really bad. She was the first doctor I went to, and I told her I do NOT have general anxiety every day, but I wanted something to help control my anxiety when I can feel an attack coming. She told me "I don't prescribe medications that are addictive," which I later found out meant that she would not give me a prescription for what I actually needed. Instead, she told me that I should take Lexapro daily to manage my anxiety. I didn't start taking it because I wanted to research it before I took a daily medication and realized it was for a completely different kind of anxiety than I had. I never took it, and found another doctor who gave me a prescription for a super low dose of Xanax. That was over a year ago, I was given a prescription for ten pills, and I still have half the bottle left. I keep it with me just in case now, but haven't needed any in over six months. Dr. Lebas is worried that if she prescribed Xanax or something similar and the person ends up abusing it, she will be liable. She doesn't care about patients. She cares about lawsuits. I didn't want to be on daily anxiety meds, I needed something to help in the chance that I got an attack and she didn't care. Go see her if you don't need a doctor who listens to your problems and wants to help. She's great for prescribing stuff you don't need. read more

Needs to work on her bedside manner. Can be rude. if you run 15 minutes late for an appointment they will bill you for the appointment but wont see you because there is "not enough time" and yet when you are in time for an appointment you can expect to wait 10-25 minutes. On a positive note, she is extremely thorough and accurate in her approach and diagnosis. I would recommend her to people with the foot-note that she may come across a little offensive but well worth the visit. read more

If I could do a negative rating, I would. Worst experience I have ever had in all my years of working with a psychiatrist. So bad, that this is my first ever Yelp review. I recently witnessed a suicide, at work. I have been severely depressed, on top of having bipolar disorder. I haven't been able to sleep. I am averaging about 4 hours a day, but not consistent nor restful. Mostly, sleeping during the day. I went in to advise Dr. Lebas that I was still unable to sleep with the medication she had given to me. The first thing she said when we sat down was that I had 4 no shows, and that if it continued she wouldn't be able to treat me. She went on to talk about money, business, etc...I simply said that it was only 2 no shows, and one was her offices fault, and the other I had asked to come in later (which was that same day). She was so rude. At that point, I was turned off by her completely, and wasn't planning to return. She had always been rude and condescending in our sessions, but I would just ignore it. I had already gone through the whole process, and didn't want to start over. We continued with our session, and she asked me about the dosage of my medication. I said, "I don't know, 25MG?" I thought to myself, "why in the world was she asking me?" She then said that she told me the dosage, so I should have known it was wrong. So, me the patient, should know when the dr makes a mistake, and sends the pharmacy the wrong dosage? I can almost guarantee that is what happened because she never knows what she's talking about. She is all over the place, all the time. Shuffling her papers around making it seem as if she doesn't even remember why you're there, and needs to look at her notes to remember. She can hardly pronounce the medications she gives me! It was baffling to me that she would ask me. Never had I had a dr ask me what they had given me. She then wanted to sit there, and argue with me that I should have known. I stayed quite. No point in arguing with someone who thinks they're "always" right. I didn't have the energy to get out of bed, much less argue with this women. Before I left, I asked her for my medical records. The incident I witnessed happened at work, so it is considered a workers compensation case. She refused to give me MY medical records. She said that it wasn't workers comp related. So, me witnessing a suicide at my job is not considered workers comp? She's an idiot. Furthermore, she wanted to define what workers comp is to me. She explained how it is a physical injury that happens at work. I said that she was correct, an injury that doesn't necessarily mean physical. Can also be a mental injury such as getting PTSD from seeing, let's say a...SUICIDE! Which is why my job has psychological therapy available for those who suffer emotional trauma in the workplace. She said I had PTSD because of the incident, and then she refuses to give me my records to give to my job? Makes no sense, whatsoever. I simply said it was fine, and that my job would just subpoena them. I wasn't worried. She then so evilly said, "you think you can just do whatever you want? You think it's fair you missing appointments, and ruining my practice? Everyone needs to have consequences." As if she was doing it spitefully because I missed "two" appointments. She went on and on after me saying several times, "are you seriously arguing with me right now?!?" I couldn't believe this woman wanted to argue with a PATIENT! Someone who is being treated for PTSD! Someone who has entrusted in her all her struggles, and traumas. I looked at her fighting off tears and I said, "is this is how you treat your patients who have gone through so much? By further belittling them, and stomping on them? You should be ashamed of yourself. I'm not going to argue with someone like you. Give me my prescription." I left, and will never return. She is a rude, arrogant, uncaring, despicable women. No one who practices medicine should ever further depress someone who is seeking out treatment. It is hard as it is asking for help, and to go through something like this is unacceptable. I witnessed a suicide. Someone taking their life. Mental illness is taken too lightly, and it is just devastating that someone who is supposed to treat, and help, is as awful as this women. Clearly, she just cares about the money. Her office was charging me the wrong copay, and I had read in one of the reviews that she was doing that to others, as well. She is just doing it for a paycheck. Once you lose the passion, love, and compassion for your work, you become worse than a robot. Do yourself a huge favor, and do not go to this women! I was very lucky to find Dr. Lebas. After a rough year I wasn't snapping out of my funk. I tried almost everything and although the cat's advice was helpful, I realized maybe I needed a professional. I visited Dr. Lebas and appreciated her non nonsense approach. She didn't push medication and instead we talked through things. I have had a good experience in being treated by Dr. Lebas. I came to her after suffering, and coming out of a severe depression. I had not previously been to a psychiatrist. My seeking psychiatric treatment was required by the psychiatric hospital and follow up out patient treatment in order that I would continue to be prescribed psychiatric medication. To date I have been treated by Dr. Lebas for approximately 2 years. My first visit was Dr. Lebas was rough. I was defensive and continued to struggle with low self esteem. My impression of this first visit was that it was contentious. I did not feel comfortable with Dr. Lebas demeanor. In hindsight I realize that Dr. Lebas was drilling down on my condition and situation. Without an immediate alternative I stuck with Dr. Lebas. I was glad that I did. By the third visit I had calmed down with Dr. Lebas and the psychiatric experience in general. I came to experience Dr. Lebas as compassionate. My visits with Dr. Lebas have usually been short, only 30 minutes as allowed by insurance. In that short time period of time my conversation Dr. Lebas has been meaningful and helpful. Not personally being familiar with psychiatric medication, I believe that Dr. Lebas has prescribed for me the the correct medication for my condition. I have also been working with a marriage and family therapist. Between the MFT counselor, the counseling of Dr. Lebas, the medication, exercise, motivat6ional reading, meaningful weekly meetings with a close friend and motivational readings my mental condition has improved. read more

I was ready to cancel my appt. with Dr. L when I read the previous reviews. I was just waiting for this really condescending Dr. to greet me. What I met was a the complete and total opposite of all I read. She asked a lot a questions and listened intently to the answers. She would even add the occasion personal story to relate to mine. She was calm, relaxed and very friendly. I would recommend her to anyone in need of a doctor. read more

She was rude and condescending since the beginning of our session, not listening or seem to care about my condition or my feelings. She made me feel so bad that I left the session halfway and crying. She got obsessed about my allergy medication to control my chronic idiopathic urticaria (she kept calling it eczema) assuring that my dose was too high, I'd been suffering for CIU for 5 years and now is the first time that is "semi-controlled" I told her that I can't reduce that medication and she told me to stop talking. We barely speak about my mental health condition. She also told me that I don't understand cause English is not my first language. So if you want to go to a "doctor" who believes herself superior to the world, racist and that she doesn't care about you, she's your doctor. If you like to be treated respectfully and with a doctor who cares about you, stay away. Worst experience of my life. read more

I really should have looked at her reviews before I went. I couldn't agree more with everything else everyone has said so far. In addition to her judgmental attitude, complete unprofessionalism, and lack of social skills and interest in you (she doesn't listen to your answers and asks the same questions several times), I also got SCAMMED by her office. I got a call the day before my follow up appointment. The voicemail said if I needed to cancel, that I should call them back on the number they called me with. I definitely needed to cancel, so 10 minutes after I got that call, I pressed "callback" on my phone. It rang and rang. I called again and got a fax line noise. I called several times that day and the same thing. My appointment came and I got another call from the office - this time a different number. I spoke to the receptionist and explained what happened and she got incredibly rude and defensive. Turns out, they called me originally from their fax line and never bothered to mention the proper number to call back on. They said they were going to charge the card on file. Problem is, I looked at all of the forms I signed carefully before my appointment, and nothing authorized them to use that card for anything other than the initial appointment. But of course, the lady that deals with the money (name is NELLY) wasn't in the office all week and they receptionist said I can only get refunded if I speak to Nelly. They gave me their main office number to call back the next week. I have called every day since during business hours, and no one picks up. I just get a voicemail saying "mailbox full", so I can't even leave a message. I am disgusted with Dr. Lebas and everyone in her office. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. It won't be a pleasant experience at the least and with her judgmental attitude, it will make whatever your situation is worse. read more

horrible experience. if your suffering this place conducted themselves with no honor or compassion. called 11 days ago to set up an appointment. to hold an appointment needed a credit card. i said was happy to give credit card once i knew my co-pay they said would get back to me. its the day before my appointment and i called to confirm. they said never held my appointment which wasn't what was discussed. this is my mental health they are messing with. i'm not in a good place and was counting on them to help. this experience was horrific and shows they don't care about the individual and have no interest in helping me fight this sickness. the worst part is they took no ownership of their mistake but blamed me. stay away find a practice that cares and doesn't make you feel worse. read more
