This amazing bakery is located in a tiny strip mall on a side street within a semi-industrial area. You probably wouldn't find it unless you knew about it and now you know. The interior is elegant and welcoming with a few tables and comfy chairs. A long pastry case displays the offerings. The charming owner let me know that although there is no coffee menu, just tell her whatever you want and she'll make it. If you want something more than a pastry, there are menus at the counter with short lists of things you can order for breakfast or lunch (sandwiches). I asked for a vanilla latte and chose three pastry items: a raspberry tart, a peanut butter & chocolate cookie, and a croissant with raspberry filling. She also presented me with a complimentary cinnamon puff pastry. I decided to enjoy them all there and sat at a counter-type table. The latte was excellent with a vivid vanilla flavor. The puff pastry was crisp and the coating of cinnamon was delicious. The raspberry tart had a chocolate coating on the interior base of the crust. The custard was light and the raspberries and blueberries were fresh and flavorful. The raspberries had sprinkles of gold on them which sparkled in the light. The tart as a whole was not overly sweet which was nice. The cookie was really yummy, again, not overly sweet. The chocolate and peanut butter chips were huge and made for a fantastic cookie. My favorite thing was the raspberry croissant. The croissant was soft inside and flakey outside; perfectly made. The raspberry filling was amazing, far beyond my flavor expectations. Incredible. I was looking for good scones in Mission Viejo and found this place. Parking was no problem and there was plenty of seating inside. The place was aesthetically pleasing and well decorated. They've got a variety of pastry options which include sweet and savory pastries, croissants, muffins, cakes, and scones. I also think they do daily specials because when I visited, they had a board sign near the entrance listing their shakes. Service was good; the staff were kind. I got the blueberry scone. It did seem hard at first, but I warmed it up at home. It was flavorful and buttery; not too dry either. I also got the hot chocolate, but I didn't like it at all. It felt like I was drinking milk with store bought powder mix and foam on top. If I'm in the area, I'll go back to enjoy the indoor seating and try their croissants with coffee. read more

What a great shop! I came by after visiting the next door aquarium and was greeted by the biggest smile and warmth. I asked her to walk me through the offerings and her favorites and ended up getting a pistachio cream cake, almond croissant, and tiramisu. She threw in a free cinnamon pastry as well. I also asked about whole coffee beans and she walked me through how they get their beans seasonally from this one specific place and that I'd need to call ahead of time to have her pack fresh beans for me to take home, if I wanted. I really appreciated that! All of the desserts were so good. The tiramisu we devoured quickly. Such a great taste. Light and airy texture as well - it was like eating a coffee cloud. The almond croissant was also quite good, and I was pleasantly surprised by the cinnamon pastry holding up its texture to reheating. The pistachio is a bit denser and creamier, which is expected. I was so excited to come as my friend told me about this place, but my experience here was terrible. I ordered a Turkish coffee and I wanted to get a couple pastries to try their variety. I got a croissant, which was okay...tastes the same as the one from Costco. I also got a blueberry scone that was HARD AS A ROCK. It was probably from a different day. I was soooo disappointed in this. I also got a vanilla cupcake with caramel filling that was just okay. The Turkish coffee took 10+ minutes to make and was the size of a little espresso cup. I could not believe I ordered this. I would not go out of my way to come back here either. While the lady , which seemed like she was the only worker there, was nice ... it was not worth an estimated time of almost 30 min I spent waiting for this terrible food and coffee. The actual taste is also delicious. The price point is higher, but you do get what you pay for. She made a special gluten free/flourless chocolate cake for my sister's birthday and it was a hit! Lovely little bakery (and some sandwich offerings) shop! Got the beef chimichurri and mortadella sandwiches today. DELICIOUS!! Do not pass up a sandwich! They are packed with flavor, are not overly seasoned or salty, and are not obscenely huge (The Trough or Mr Pickles - good sandwiches but unnecessarily huge). We also brought home some desserts. My favorite is the chocolate chip twist. Also picked up a cream filled horn with chocolate, strawberry croissant, cheesecake and a couple cupcakes. Our dear friend's neighbor is the owner. It came highly recommended by her so we decided to check it out. We were not disappointed. Stopped by the bakery just 20 minutes before closing and most of the items were sold out. Great food, great ambiance. This cute little cafe is tucked away at the corner of Via Fabricante and Alicia Parkway. We went for breakfast. The bacon egg and cheese croissant was excellent, as was the coffee- we got two lattes and a cappuccino. Excellent foam on both, did not even need any sugar, and since we were dining in it came in beautiful ceramic cups. (We got whole milk FYI.) We also tried the Spanish cheesecake, baklava cheesecake, blueberry scone, pistachio cake slice, and the bread pudding. The stand outs for me were the pistachio slice and blueberry scone. We probably should have gotten the bread pudding warmed up. Definitely this is a solid choice for a casual breakfast, a midday lunch or break from work. Nobody else was inside, but there was ample seating and such adorable decorations! We met the owner and placed our orders, service was great and she was so sweet and helpful! She even gave us a free sample of the cinnamon twist which was so fresh and flavorful. I ordered the iced caramel latte which was a bit milkier than I would normally like, but this is a bakery and not coffee shop, so it still gets a 5/5 from me. Ordered my favorite dessert, the napoleon, and was not disappointed--so skillfully made, the layers were not soggy and it was so flavorful and delicious! There has been a recent surge in bakeries opening in the Lake Forest/Mission Viejo area, much to my delight. I happened upon Lilipops while I was dropping someone off -- what a find! Not only are the pastries extraordinary, but the service was just perfect. The owner, Lili, is a lovely person and takes such pride in her pastries and cakes. The strawberry cream pastry (pictured here) was out of this world good. Huge pastry for only $4.99. I hesitate to say how beautiful the interior of the shop is, relaxing and a nice place to sit. She has juice, coffee, and espresso drinks. Lilipops is a little hidden, tucked in next to a Tropical Fish store in Jeronimo Plaza. Lilipops is only a month old--and I know there are a lot of bakeries to choose from, but if you don't want to wait in a long line, but want a gorgeous pastry-Lilipops is the place. So I work next door doing sugaring and I am soooo happy Lilly opened her bakery next door! Every time I'm here working I always come and get a delicious treat or a INCREDIBLE sandwich from here. Lilly's desserts are some of the absolute best in town, you can tell she makes everything from scratch with the most organic ingredients, and it's all made with love. There's never been a single time I've been there and not liked anything. Every time I'm so impressed by what's new she has out for sale. Please try one of her sandwiches, she makes them fresh on a fresh crispy baguette, and I've had both the apple Brie sandwich which is so refreshing, and the turkey club sandwich, also equally amazing. My favorite treats to get is all of them but I'm obsessed with her chocolate chip twist, red velvet cookies, and her baklava cheesecake!
