We really enjoyed meeting Laleah and Sherry. They were very generous and kind. We ordered two cream puffs and a napoleon. We also got a pear tart. Tonight we tried the chocolate cream puff. It was awesome! We sampled some other items and they were all great. This is now our go to bakery. There's a reason this place receives high Yelp ratings. The Yelp reviews are true!! I've bookmarked this place for a while and finally was in the area so stopped in for some zoolbia (these amazingly crisp and sweet funnel-cake-looking sweets). I usually get these from Wholesome Choice market or Assal Bakery (both in Irvine off the 5 and Culver) but this place was a step above!! These ones were perfectly crisp and the syrup didn't taste sugary sweet but more like a honey sweet, I think. All the other sweets and baked goods looked tempting, but in trying to keep my figure, I kept my order to a few items. I got two zoolbia, a pistachio baklava and one bar of rose Turkish delight (I believe the total was just under $16?). The baklava was the best I've tasted. It had a base of shredded wheat and filling was dense and chewy while still being crisp and perfectly sweet. Oh my!! This is some magic! I haven't tried the Turkish delight yet but it looks amazing. Service was also very sweet. The lady behind the counter greeted me and my husband with samples of some freshly baked cookies (I can't recall the name but they were rolled cookies with a center of custard and nuts) and they were also so divine!! I had a meeting with a client so i wanted to bring in some cookies as treat for the staff. I didnt want to do your typical cookie tray from a chain so i looked on yelp and found this little shop in the plaza across the street from my office. First thing as i walked in the lady at the counter offered me what seemed to be a freshly baked pastry bite as it was still slightly warm. I believe the filling had some kind of almond paste so it was slightly sweet but still buttery and flaky. I ended up getting a box of assorted cookies for my meeting. Decent Persian bakery. I arrived here to inquire about a birthday cake. And I asked if they can make a specialized cake for my mom's birthday. And they did! As we were coming in, there were cookies waiting for us at the register and we were told that cookies were waiting for us - what an introduction to this cute bakery! They were delicious. We've driven past here a few times and finally had a chance to go inside and were not disappointed! There are two display cases: one full of yummy pastries, and the other full of Turkish delights and cakes. Absolutely thrilled to share my experience with Sweet Lili's Bakery! I needed a sheet cake for our Cub Scouts Bridging ceremony on the same day, and every other place, including Costco, couldn't accommodate (turns out you normally need to order sheet cakes in advance!). Sweet Lili's Bakery saved the day! Even though they also need advance notice, she hear the panic in my voice and turned around a gorgeous cake in just a few hours for me.
