I've had this treatment done elsewhere dozens of times in the past and never had this problem. - When I expressed this concern to them, they dismissed it. When I expressed that I felt dismissed, they said "We're sorry you are feeling that your concerns were being dismissed". That is not a proper apology, and there was no compensation offered for the session that had zero effect. - In fact, that session price was DOUBLED because of the reasons I'll describe below. - Their pricing scheme is sketchy & scammy. The 6-session package rate is presented as 50% off, but it's actually the standard rate (in fact I was quoted almost 30% less than that amount at a different vendor), with the single-session price set at twice that amount. As a result, I was charged that inflated rate for a treatment that produced no results. When I signed up, I thought it was a harmless marketing gimmick, but it was used against me in the end. (I think they assume their customers are dumb and will be overjoyed to get 50% off of double the rate) Update: I went to that other vendor and actually got the result I had expected from this one. Save yourself the trouble and money and humiliation, just go somewhere else. --- 8/14 update: After I notified the company that I intended to dispute the charge and file consumer complaints, they responded by calling my communications "threatening, abusive, or aggressive," referred to my consumer complaints as "ongoing threats," and wrote, "If you wish to escalate this harassment further," they would report me to local authorities. I found this response bizarre, deeply unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. Threatening a customer with law enforcement for saying they intend to dispute a charge and file complaints with consumer-protection agencies is an extraordinary way for a medical practice to handle a billing dispute.

The day of, I was on time and they were 15 min late. There was no one else there so I don't understand the delay. The service room was sparse and clinical unlike my usual place which is a bit warmer with TVs to distract you. The woman who did my service was young and seemed bored. Taking off required language rather than engaging with me like a person whom she wanted to have as a repeat client. At the end, the receptionist asked if I wanted to give a tip which I wasn't used to because my go-to place doesn't accept tips. I also don't understand why they need to scan your driver's license before your appointment. It felt unnecessary, uncomfortable, and somewhat invasive for this type of service business. Speaking of unnecessary and uncomfortable things, can someone please tell me what, "By the grace of God," in all caps, means in the context of aesthetic services? It's written huge on the wall behind the reception area. Overall, the promotional free session did not change my mind and they did not gain a new customer. We sent you a text message." I told her that I never received a message. Her response was, "Did you check your spam folder?" How am I supposed to know that my appointment has been canceled if the only notification is a text message that I never received? If a business is canceling an appointment, especially one that was scheduled in advance, I would expect clear communication. A phone call would have been the appropriate way to make sure I was actually notified. Instead, I drove to my appointment only to find out after arriving that it had been canceled. The front desk representative also did not make any real effort to resolve the situation. I was left feeling like my time did not matter. Very poor customer service and communication. I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at LaserAway Novato and would warn other customers to confirm their appointments ahead of time, because apparently a cancellation text that may end up in your spam folder is considered sufficient communication.
