Food and atmosphere is great here. The dining is all outdoors so keep that in mind and dress accordingly. It can get busy but they do a pretty good job of serving apps and drinks while you wait for a table. I would give them 5 stars BUT although the sandbox is great for kids and the cats they have are also cute the two DO NOT mix. The cats are using the sandbox as a litter box. So if you have kids I would avoid the sandbox despite it being tempting. My kids found cat crap in it last time......hand washing and removal was immediate and baths were given at home. We shared with our server but nothing was said. Definitely a health hazard for children. read more

Shrimp Lovers this restaurant is a must! Sara. was my server and she was enthusiastic and gave great menu item choices. I started with the crab dip which consisted of lots of crab meat and cream cheese. It was served with their version of grilled pita bread. I've been wanting to go to this place for weeks now! When I was finally on on that side of town, I had to stop. When we pulled in around 2ish, there was already a wait. However they have a huge waiting area where you can order drinks and appetizers. Those came out within minutes of ordering and the wait was half the time they quoted us. Host stays busy, be appreciate he will appear. At first we had a 2 hour wait but it changed to about 45 minutes. You can wait at a "bar" area with gravel and a few tables. Servers were nice and fast. Now the food for appetizers we got hush puppys and fried calamari and it was very good i can taste the flavors and the calamari was very tender which made it very good and the main course we got a pepperoni pizza and burgers. Sunday afternoon 3:30pm The Lilly Pad is a cute little restaurant on the water located at the marina. It is all outdoor seating so be aware on those hot summer days. I don't know if they have outdoor fans. It happened to be a warm day with cool breezes when we went. The hubs and I each ordered a hamburger. He got the hangover burger that came with a fried egg and bacon. I ordered the mushroom and Swiss burger. The Lilly Pad will be our new go to for hamburgers. The edges were a little crispy while the rest of the burger was juicy! The shoestring French fries also had the right amount of crisp on them. We also got suckered into the Nightingale ice cream sandwiches. I would ask for those sooner than later to give them a minute to thaw. They are pretty hard when they come out. I stopped by Lilly Pad for a late lunch after doing a wine tasting at Upper Shirley. Fortunately, it was not very crowded, and my group of four was able to be seated immediately. We split an order of fried oysters, and they were so good that we decided to place a second order. We also ordered calamari, though I would not recommend it as it was slightly rubbery and tough. The entrées (two hamburgers & two caesar wraps) were good--nothing surprising or special, but solid food. The appeal of Lilly Pad is the view and ambiance. Unfortunately, the day we went, that was lacking (obviously, this is not their fault). It was overcast, there was a pretty strong breeze, and the heaters they had were not nearly enough. This place does get PACKED as the night gets later so come early if you prefer not to wait over an hour. Service was a bit slow but they were busy (and probably understaffed). Drinks were okay for the most part. I really thought $10 for a bucket of about 4 domestic beers were well worth it. The food is decent and about what I expected.
