Came here after reading the great reviews and Lilly's definitely doesn't disappoint. Interior is pretty bare bones but clean and spacious. There were plenty of tables and no wait at all on a weekend early afternoon. The menu is simple with meat selection for the tacos and a few drinks from the soda fountain. Staff is very friendly. Located in a big plaza so parking is not an issue. You order at the front and get your food at the counter next to where you order. You get your food super fast and there's lots of seats. Lighting is somewhat dim. Tacos are fairly priced at 3 bucks each and they come with two tortillas so you can make two tacos with one. My appetite is decently large, and I usually order 3, but sometimes I get 4 if I'm really hungry and it's quite filling. I get the beef tongue and cheek and they are absolutely delicious. Super soft and melts in your mouth. I recommend getting the steamed meats over the grilled meats because I feel that they are more tender and less dry, but the grilled meats are good too. There is also an area in the middle of the restaurant with unlimited toppings such as onions, cilantro, salsas, etc.... Definitely recommend this place read more

More like a 3.5 We love Lilly's tacos, making it our usual food stop when we are in the area. The Goleta location is a little closer to the freeway; and with two rambunctious toddlers we figured it would be our best bet. I tried the steamed beef for the first time, and it was YUM. Moist, soft and not chewy at all, it was a perfect stopping snack before we continued our drive. Our kiddos even tried finishing off my portion because it was so good. The reason for the three stars was because on the way back, we figured we couldn't get enough of a good thing and decided to make another stop to chow down. Unfortunately this time my steamed beef resembled hardened pieces of meat - actually almost thought it was like a pan fried carnitas. This inconsistency made me a little sad. Lilly's tacos! A staple when we come to Santa Barbara. I ordered the steak and marinated pork tacos. They were quite good and had all the condiments. The steak is very tender and you can tell they make all the ingredients fresh. If I had to choose I would get the steak tacos! The service was quite good! They lady at the front was nice and the food came out faster then a McDonald's drive through. And the ambiance was very nice too. It's a small taco shop and in the middle they have a condiment station with a lot of options to choose from. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star review instead of 5 is cause 14 dollars for 4 tacos is pretty expensive. Awesome spot. Our daughter just moved to Goleta as she is attending UCSB. During move in weekend my wife and I were hungry and looking to kill some time and came across Lilly's. Right next to Target if you know the area. Pretty straight forward all there is, is tacos we tried them all and they were all delicious. That's what I loved about this place just straight up tacos and nothing else love the simplicity they do tacos good here. Inside is nice and spacious and after ordering your tacos they have an open salsa bar where you get your salsas, cilantro, onions, limes, radishes. You can also order grilled onions with grilled chilies which we did and were delicious. Service was great and will be coming here whenever we go and visit our daughter. read more

I've tried the chicken fajita, asada, and lengua tacos in the past as well. ALL of their tacos are super yummy! I love ordering my tacos with a side of grilled onions. We came in here 4 days in a row on our trip to Santa Barbara., we were that obsessed. The meats were all seasoned perfectly and the food came out so quickly. The quality of Lily's tacos has plummeted severely. I used to get the lengua and adobada back in the day, but now the meat is dry and flavorless. I paid 9 dollars for three bite sized adobada tacos and left severely disappointed and broke. The onions and cilantro are the only bits of flavor present on the plate, and unless I were to drench the tacos in the salsa, (which was probably the only good part of the meal), I would say I ate a bunch of nothing. the tortillas tasted as though they weren't cooked all the way. very cold. No pineapples, either. The meat wasn't marinated, at all. Somehow jack in the box is better. I don't know why this is rated so highly. in the past, it was decent, but now, (maybe because of a new owner or a recipe change), it is absolute mierda. do not recommend. plus, it kinda smelled like the toilets over at dodger stadium.
