We have adopted two other retired breeders from her. One was 7 years old and lived to be about 13 and the other was 5 years old and lived to be around 12 years old. Both were excellent cats and of course beautiful cats that had the greatest temperament. We are currently about to adopt another retired breeder female from her. All of the cats we have gotten from gems of the South have been incredible. They all are very calm and a joy to be with. Upon entering. you must either remove your shoes or put booties over them, a hospital gown goes over your clothes and hand washing is a must. Once you are all suited up and your hands are clean, Ms Stacy (or her helper) walks you through the home that Ms Stacy's family lives in too, until you come to the door that opens into doggie heaven. There are no kennels like the shelter., the dogs aren't even in crates , dogs in a variety of age ranges are in playpen like enclosures open at the top. One or two dogs are barking but the rest are eagerly waiting for you to come over and give them a pet. The dogs living area is being constantly cleaned by a kind woman, and I can't believe that with this many dogs, it doesn't smell. Ms. Stacy the owner of TLC knows the story of every dog ,who the parents are ,how big they might be etc.. You can tell how much these puppies are loved. If you are not going to adopt a dog from a shelter. You need to get a puppy from TLC.
