I had a climbing injury where I tore my shoulder and then stupidly put my arm in a sling. 2 weeks later I had a rigidly frozen shoulder and could only move my arm 45º away from my body at best. Stuck like concrete past there. I went to PT from October last year until July this year - every Tuesday for 10 months and in that time we had managed to restore some forward and a limited amount of backward movement and had gotten my arm up to 91º up from the side of my body. Not bad. But no way I was going to climb again. I went to see Chrysten, told her the journey so far and she just smiled and said 'why didn't you come to me sooner' with a look that said 'watch and learn'. An hour later, a bunch of needles all over my body and some cupping and I left feeling great. All she said was eat something before you drive and drink lots of water. It wasn't until I went to buy a smoothie from across the block that as I ordered my drink, I put my jacket on and my arm just instinctively went up into the sleeve like it used to, pointing up to the ceiling! I thought I had broken my arm!. So I put my jacket on again, and still my arm went straight up to the ceiling! It was shocking to be fair. When I measured it at home, I went from 91º before I walked in to see Cloud to 148º in one hour. I don't know how but you are a wizard Cloud. Thank you so much, you are a miracle! UPDATE: I went back to PT to show them, they couldn't believe it, I did one more session with them, then went back to Chrysten and she did it again, now my arm is up to 178º and I'm looking at climbing again in a few weeks. She didn't question my use of Rx drugs or diagnoses, instead she listened attentively and asked me about recent bloodwork. As a perimenopausal woman, I can't tell you how many times doctors have dismissed my symptoms, shrugged their shoulders, and left me with no solutions. The western doctors I've dealt with don't make the correlation between trauma/grief and symptoms. What they usually do is push medication for that one symptom and that's it. I had tried acupuncture with three other acupuncturists had relatively good success. I finally could fit a session in so Sarah emailed me a questionnaire which cut down on time of the initial visit. Sarah only makes one appointment at a time and dedicates herself to the one patient for the entire block. I like that a lot. There was no waiting because she over booked! Nothing annoys me more than waiting when I made an appointment. Sarah's office is her guest house which allows her to be punctual! Haha The room was perfectly relaxing! Air conditioning kept me cool so I could relax and enjoy the needles and soothing music. The office and treatment room were both extremely clean. Sarah has a "soft" touch which is good since I hate needles!!! Sarah listened to my complaints and took her time to look me over before she began my session.
