I feel like a lot of doctors treat symptoms, but Dr. Amanda- she treats the whole person- what happens within and without, physical, emotional, mental, spiritual. She's an amazing advocate, a cheerleader, a listener. As a perimenopausal woman, I can't tell you how many times doctors have dismissed my symptoms, shrugged their shoulders, and left me with no solutions. I've also been through a lot of trauma, having lost my home in the CA wildfires and more recently, my father. The western doctors I've dealt with don't make the correlation between trauma/grief and symptoms. What they usually do is push medication for that one symptom and that's it. Dr. Amanda, however, listens and genuinely cares about her patients. I've been dealing with so many issues; hormonal issues, trauma, and grief. Both ladies are extraordinarily skilled in their professions and being not only a wealth of the normal knowledge you see in these fields but also an esoteric knowledge. Both ladies are very intuitive with the way they treat you. Amanda treats the whole body and helps to work to find the root of your issues. She is kind and so super generous with the energy she devotes to her clients. She refers you to their drs if need be. She helped me find an internist for other issues that I needed handled by western medicine. She prescribes herbs and has a beautiful demeanor. Marisol's massage makes me float. Marisol is the most amazing massage therapist I've ever been to. She listens to your body and warms up your muscles before she goes into the problem areas. I've always felt amazing after leaving her. When I first came to Dr. Cohen, I had not been able to walk for 8 days and slept only 3-4 hours a night due to an accident 5 days prior. I had two discs out of place and 24 hour shooting pain up and down the left side of my body. Dr. Cohen made it a priority to see me twice a week and created a vitamin regimen for me to mitigate muscle spasms. She kept me positive and ensured me that I would stand up straight, and would be able to walk again. I started seeing Amanda (Dr. Cohen) for my vertigo about 4 or 5 months ago. I knew if I went to my regular physician I would be subjected to MRI's, CT scans, and much more, for my doctor to then just tell me "oh you have vertigo." I jumped through all those hoops when I was 16 and was told there is no cure and not much that can be done for it. I definitely didn't want to go through that again. I wanted to try a different approach and my friend recommended Amanda. After my first couple of sessions my vertigo was happening less and less every day, to now, non-existent.
