Ok guys. This is our regular date night place... Anon treats us like family and knows our order. Not only do we feel welcomed every time, but all the wait staff know we prefer the lemon yellow booths over the table chair combos. A few of our favorites: avocado dosa, sag paneer, garlic naan, Gobi 65 and dry chicken tikka. Side sauces are fresh and tasty. Cocktails vary with the seasons and top off the meal. Solid choice!

Lunch special Mango Lassi Strawberry Lassi Sweet Iced Tea

wow!! Walked into this place on a whim, and it was the right choice! Best Indian cuisine I've had in Durham for sure, and with the BEST service. My boyfriend and I came in for lunch and we're lucky to get Ravi as a server. He was superb. He gave us some recommendations and we ended up getting the lunch specials, mine with chicken, his with lamb. You must try the mango lassi, so so good, we drank ours at the table and got another to take home. The menu is extensive but with Ravi's recommendations you can't go wrong! We went for lunch but are planning on returning for dinner since the bar had so many fun drinks and the cocktail menu has so many cool options! Definitely a great and underrated spot. We were one of a handful of other parties there midday on a weekday. Go there and ask for Ravi!! 12/10, the naan is chefs kiss

Been wanting to try this place out when visiting Durham. We finally went on our anniversary and it was a great choice. Made a reservation ahead of time. Was created at the door and was sat at a booth immediately. Our server Ravi was fantastic! Very attentive and helpful with making our choices. The food was amazing and they even surprised us with an anniversary desert! I'd highly recommend this place you're in the area!

All of my favorite Indian dishes in one place!! I decided to try Lime and Lemon for my self care Friday, and it did not disappoint. My waiter Anand was amazing and he was very thorough with offering recommendations and options. I ordered a spicy mushroom appetizer, the avocado and cheese dosa and goat Chittinad. They were all cooked to perfection. I'm used to the masala dosa, but this was an interesting twist that kind of reminded me of me of a quesadilla. They had paratha bread that is cooked to perfection. It was nice having the option of multiple regions of India in one place. The space is elegant and casual with a full bar. Will definitely come back for another self-care day.

We swung by Lime & Lemon for our dinner and I was very impressed. The food is tooooo delicious. We tried the pani puri, idli Sambar, plain dosa, basil and mint naan, garlic naan, chapati and mango and lime paneer curry. I can't believe a mango and lime curry would impress me so much. Not surprised that it is the restaurant's signature dish. The basil and mint naan was a flavor combo that was out of this world. This naan with the mango and lime paneer curry tasted divine. The ambience is very simple. The server was very sweet and friendly and offered us free rice kheer and pistachio kulfi because he messed up our order. Overall, great food and a nice lowkey place when you want to grab some casual dinner.

Chicken Jalfareze (GF)

Came for dinner on a Saturday evening. It was very loud and crowded inside so my friends and I chose to sit outside. I love that they had outdoor seating options! I was surprised and a little overwhelmed by all the menu options, I wanted to try multiple dishes! The waiters and servers were all very friendly and attentive. The food came out very fast as well, less than 15 minutes after we ordered, which I was impressed by. I ordered the chicken jalfareze. I asked for it to be made mild but it was still quite spicy. The sauce had good flavor though and they provided additional rice for no extra fee. My friends ordered the paneer tikki masala and butter chicken and both of those dishes were delicious as well. Overall, I had a great experiencing dining here and would love to come back and try some of their other dishes!

Reserved table for 5 on a Saturday afternoon and the table was ready for us when we arrived. The service was exceptional. The restaurant itself is a small space with equal number of booths and tables, they also have outdoor seating. Food was overall very well made. Drinks 10/10 Tandoor sampler 9/10 good mix, could've been warmer Dal tadka 10/10 despite ordering non spicy Rogan josh 9/10 Chicken tikka masala 7/10 (i've had better) Naan 10/10

Love the food, spice level and the ambiance! Must try for Indian food. I tried paneer chukka and madras chicken curry - both were pretty good. The chukka was in much quantity for 3 people and same with madras curry. And they have malabar parota, which is rare. The pull apart parotha is really well made and fresh

Court side daily cocktail

The bartender this evening recommended the daily cocktail containing fresh strawberries, raspberries, mango schnapps(?) and vodka. It was delicious. Vegetable samosas came with delicious mint and tamarind sauces. The chicken tikka masala was amazing (we ordered extra spicy) and the rice was soft! Garlic nan- incredible! (could use more garlic for my taste) Mango lassi- came in a premade bottle that the bartender said the restaurant staff makes. It was so good. We also got rice kheer and gulab jamun! Thank you for good service, keeping the place clean and maintaining a good atmosphere!

The chicken combo

Came in for the first time and was not disappointed! The dining area was very clean and you could smell the aromatic food before even sitting down. I got the lunch chicken combo which it doesn't say it on the menu but it is a set menu combo. All good tho cause all the food that came out was delicious . (Came with the chicken 65, butter chicken, naan and biriyani) Great food and great prices $$ Will be back for sure.

Ask the Community - Lime & Lemon Indian Grill & Bar - Durham

Is the buffet back?

No, they're not doing the buffet anymore. They're only doing a la carte now. (2023)

I'd like to send my parents here and pay for their meal. How can I do this if I'm not actually with them? Can I pay over the phone?

Yes. You can definitely pay over the phone. Either that or you can buy a gift card from our website and they can present that after lunch / dinner.

Are there any gluten-free items in the buffet?

Since we keep changing what we put in our buffet menu every day, it's hard to tell what and how many items will be gluten free, but definitely we will have some for sure. I'd suggest calling the restaurant that day and ask the front desk. They…

Will you be playing the Cricket World Cup matches at the bar TVs?

Yes. We play all cricket matches.

For those of us sensitive to dairy, is there any way to know what kind of cream is in which of the curries?

It's always best to check with the waiter before ordering any food item if you are sensitive to anything.

Is the buffet only available for lunch hours or is it also available for dinner hours?

We have buffet only for Lunch. Dinner is ala carte.

What a lovely surprise to find this gem tucked away in downtown Durham! I had heard great things…read moreabout their espresso martini, so when we finally visited, we had to try it. And, it truly lived up to the hype. One of the best we've ever had! I also tried two other cocktails made with their house-distilled rum and gin, and both were delicious and perfectly balanced. The seasonal menu is creative and reasonably priced, we were genuinely impressed. The ambiance is charming and cozy despite a bit warm inside (the AC was pretty weak), but quiet and tastefully decorated with velvet couches, exposed walls, vintage touches, and fresh flowers on each table. We had fun flipping through their amazing cocktail book collection on the shelf too. The bartenders were very friendly and offered us focaccia from Ninth Street Bakery to pair with our drinks for free, which was such a thoughtful and tasty addition. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and are so happy to see a micro-distillery thriving in the heart of Durham. Can't wait to return for an official tour and to sample more of their spirits!

That response will get a smile every time. Super dog-friendly, to say the least, both outside and inside. We've been a few times now, and the service is super friendly and helpful, every time. It's small and intimate inside, but we never have a problem finding a seat! I love that they have snacks you can help yourself to, in airtight jars at the bar (peanut butter filled pretzels, sour worms, etc). Also important to note- the inside is NOT air conditioned. We stopped in on a HOT day, and it's brutal inside, with cloth couches and just one small fan. Love this bar, all of their cocktails (wine available too), and all of the staff! Will be back (a lot)!!

Definitely high stars for customer service. They could work anywhere I think and be noteworthy. The drinks were solidly on the "ho-hum" scale. Nothing out of the ordinary. In all fairness, I only tried one and maybe if I had a second, I would be more impressed. For the drink (espresso martini), the espresso beans floating in the glass were an unexpected fun addition, but they didn't have much flavor. Maybe after the alcohol, I should have expected that. If I sound "meh" -- yeah -- it was that. The food started out almost the same way, but as I worked my way through it, it got a bit better. The tempura squash is almost like light fried ravioli. While okay, I would have preferred more flavor from the squash rather than from the marinara sauce. It still didn't overwhelm me with flavor, but it was decent enough. Overall, I couldn't decide between 2 or 3 stars, but the employees alone were enough to put it at 3 for me.
