3.7/5 stars The Limeport Inn is what Cheers would be if it was cast in the country of East PA. It's a Wednesday night and folks are nestled around the tightly knit bar like everyone is family. I'm the outsider from Allentown just passing through but the hostess and servers treat everyone all the same. This quaint restaurant has cloth table settings with ice water, awaiting your arrival. While the view is the main highway that runs through this sleepy town, it offers a bit of nostalgia from a day gone by. I've been here several times and I'm finally getting around to posting my review. I've always enjoyed my time here at Limeport even if every visit had some flaw. This time my drink glass had lipstick all over it, which the server thought was hilarious as well as embarrassing. I agree. The Smashburger is not a Smashburger at all. It's a decently flavored frozen puck that's been transformed into what ended up being a decent burger. You see, they know sauces well here as they're famous for all of their house made dressings and add-ons. The fries are homemade and come straight from the potato, but the oil is clearly old and the fries unfortunately were over overcooked. Well, this visit wasn't my favorite visit. I've really enjoyed my meals in the past. I will be back several times as I come through the town, but I'm not sure that it would be a destination restaurant for me. For those that live local, you're very blessed to have a solid restaurant available to you with filet mignon scallops and wonderful, house-made salads at your fingertips. Cheers! read more

We recently had an absolutely horrible experience here. We made a reservation to celebrate a birthday for 4PM, which was confirmed by two separate hostesses earlier in the week. When we arrived, there wasn't a table for us to sit at, and we waited in the cramped hallway just past the front door for nearly a half hour without an explanation for the delay. When we were finally seated, they put us in a party room where a wedding reception was being held. Our table was stuffed up against the wall and so tight to the other party that you couldn't even pull your chair out. The table was not wiped off, and there was food all over the floor. After we sat we quickly noticed that the party having the wedding reception was BELIGERANTLY drunk and being so loud and obnoxious that it was impossible to hold a conversation with the person next to you. Members of the party were hovering over me, letting their ill-behaved children bump into my chair. It was incredibly irresponsible of the staff to continue serving this party alcohol, and on top of that to allow them to drive home with kids in their cars, all of which is a flagrant violation of liquor law. We asked to be moved to a different table and were told there were no other tables available. I had my food boxed up as soon as they brought it out (which took 90 minutes) because the noise was so nauseating. Our waitress was clearly not happy as well, and she was very short with us and neglectful of our table in general. The whole restaurant was in disarray, and every waitress had a nasty look on their face. Afterward we brought it up to management, who essentially shrugged their shoulders and didn't even offer an apology over the mix up. There was no attempt made to politely ask this party to calm down, none of the staff apologized to us for the situation, and no attempt was made to make it right by at least comping my meal which I couldn't even eat. Needless to say I will never go back here again and won't be recommending to anyone. read more

My wife and I just went to the Limeport Inn, New Sunday hours. We both ordered the prime rib because we heard so many good things about it. Well we were very disappointed in it, could not even cut it with a knife. My wife asked for a sharper one but still had trouble. We told server but no real response. It was not a good dining experience at all. I think this is a good burger/pizza stop but anything more involved I'll go elsewhere. The surroundings are nice and we try again when the outside opens. Have been here several times over the past few years and always enter meal- tonight was so disappointing. While the service was great- my beet salad literally had canned beets and the additional scallops consisted of three scallops no more than 1 inch in diameter. I took the kids here for my Birthday lunch to try something new. What a great spot!! The outdoor seating was great as well as the service. We stayed in Allentown by Bar Louie and the shopping complex there. We reviewed those restaurants, but they didn't appeal to us. My boyfriend found this place less than 10 minutes away, and the charm caught his eye, but the menu and reviews sealed the deal. The bar itself is so cool. It's dark, but in a way that you want it that way, and if it was super bright, it would kill the vibe. The bartender and owner were friendly and kind. We chose the chicken taco pizza special and a salad and had 0 regrets. The aioli on the pizza was great, it also had a peach salsa that added a freshness & the orange balsamic homemade dressing with watermelon radish was fantastic. She brought out Irish soda bread and homemade butter. My first reaction (being from Boston and having had lots of Irish soda bread was ..ugh great.) I have never been more grateful to be wrong, it was light and heavy at the same time, warm and just slightly sweet. Combined with the butter, it was just perfect. The drinks were great, and the dessert was fabulous. The owners wife makes the desserts and we saw the creme brulee was popular, so we ordered it. It did not disappoint. I'm not sure we'll get back there anytime soon, but if we happen to be that area again we will certainly be stopping by. First time we've eaten there in a while, and not sure if the ownership has changed or what but clearly the service, and the quality of food was poor . All four of us who attended did not like their meal, and the waitress told me the fish I chose was not spicy and after my first bite, I thought I was being punked! Such a cozy spot for a dinner or lunch! Cannot recommend Limeport Inn enough for a meal in the Lehigh Valley. When you go, you have to try some of the pizza.....so many different options with a variety of different flavor profiles. The rack of lamb at Limeport is one of the best I've ever had, no matter what they accompany it with for sides. I also think the Crème Brûlée is top tier as far as desserts go. AWESOME! We sat outside and the patio space is SUCH a cute area. I highly recommend it. They were very accommodating, as I don't eat dairy. The chefs cooked my scallops in oil instead of butter. They'd run out of salmon and a few other things by the time of our reservation (7pm) which, to me, means everything is fresh! I had lunch here after not visiting for awhile. It was disappointing. The menu now is very abbreviated. I had the brisket mac and cheese and it was horrible. Some sort of soupy cheese sauce on pasta with a few shreds of brisket, topped with a few greens and crumbs that tasted terrible. My friend had the French onion soup which was flavorful with very little onion. Our server was great. I don't know what happened to this place, but I don't intend to return in the future. read more

Awesome time. This was our first time indoor dining since the pandemic and we had a blast. The food was phenomenal. The cauliflower appetizer was great. Horrible, horrible experience. Stopped by for a late lunch on a Wednesday (1:30ish). The place was not busy. The bartender seated us, gave us water, told us the specials and said he would be right back to take our order. Well, that never happened. We waited at least 15 minutes while a table or two was cleaned off, other staff stood there and chit-chatted. It was like we were completely invisible. My husband and I were absolutely amazed. Kind of funny, because I heard the waitress say they have gotten awards for their patio. Well, I can say they definitely won't for their service. We had the most delicious experience last night at the Limeport Inn. My son and his wife took me out for Mother's Day. We started with cocktails. I had a Lavendar lemon drop, that was insanely good and my son had a blood orange old- fashioned, which he also loved. All of our entrees came with a side salad that had different homemade dressing choices. I chose the basil parmesan and it was so fresh and flavorful. For dinner, I had sea bass, my son had the prime rib special and my daughter-in-law had the chicken marsala with crab. We all raved how delicious everything was and everything was cooked to absolute perfection! The atmosphere is charming and quaint and the service was excellent. Needed to get out of the house after the snow. Found this and decided to take a drive and try it out for lunch. What a gem! Great drink selection and excellent beers on tap! Food was great...french onion soup, limeport burger and ribeye sandwich, creme brulee, and Meyer lemon panna cota. The dinner menu looked great with a selection of specialty pizzas. We ate outside and the evening was beautiful. Tables were reasonably placed and the staff wore masks. In addition, there were umbrellas over each table, so a light rain could have been managed. Heavy rain or rain with wind would not have worked. Perhaps with bigger umbrellas. My partner had the sea bass, which was wonderful. Well seasoned, flakely and the accompanying rice was also excellent. I had the creamy chicken pesto, which I thought was good, but the sauce was perhaps 2nd tier. The pasta was cooked perfectly. We both had the house salad. The salad was good, but could have been better. There was a large assortment of interesting dressings. Everyone should find one they liked. read more

Our family hosted a memorial luncheon at the Inn. The food, indoor and outdoor spaces, and the staff were amazing. The luncheon was attended by 70+ people and all had a great time. I have also dined here in the past and have never had a bad meal or time. read more

We stopped on a whim... and are so glad we did! Just an amazing experience from start to finish. Great drink menu; both my husbands mule and my fig blossom were delicious. The entrees were amazing. I had the lamb- it was cooked perfect. The garlic jam was delicious as was the mustard chive mash. Tons of flavor! My husband had the pork mignon with sharp cheddar polenta- pork was tender and flavorful, and the polenta absolutely divine. The service was top notch, our waitress was a doll! My friend and I decided to eat at the Limeport Inn because we both hadn't eaten there in years. We were not disappointed. After chatting for several minutes we each decided on a glass of wine. Our server came back and took our order. Food was exceptional, large portion and very tasty. Will probably be back if the bottom comment is taken care of. My friend and I work together in a retail setting, so we know how important feedback is...positive and negative Our table was by the front window. Even though it was raining, it was still nice to look outside. My only other comment is, when I went to sit down there was an ant crawling on the table. While we were waiting for glasses of wine and chatting, we noticed about 4 or 5 more ants crawling on the window sill. Also while eating, a few more ants made their appearance on the window sill. Hopefully this will be taken care of. read more
