I found this gem on Yelp last summer when we were driving back to Buffalo from Blue Bell, PA. From the map, it appeared to be right off the highway we were on, but in reality - it was far from that. Once I set my phone's GPS to the address, it took us a good 30-40min of driving around country backroads that we thought we were totally lost and would die of hunger on multiple occasions. Luckily, we finally arrived and it did NOT disappoint. They had a Bloody Mary bar where you can customize your own Bloody Mary, and an extensive beer list including Hitachino Nest white ale, a Belgian white style beer from Japan - we were impressed, as we've only found that in one (Japanese) restaurant in Buffalo. I got the trap burger and my husband made some kind of a custom omelette. It's been over a year so I can't remember all the details of my burger though I do remember that it was absolutely delicious and I ate the entire thing. I recall the hubby enjoyed his omelette as well and we left as a happy couple of fatties. Well, I as happier than he was since I could relax and nap but he still had to drive another 5 hours to get us home. The service was OK. It was very much a locals' place and the waitstaff seemed a lot more friendlier with the locals/regulars, which is understandable. I thought the prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the food, and if we are ever in the area again I would definitely plan a stop to grab a bite here.

Came here for a quiet brunch. There wasn't many people inside. Service was friendly, they have a bloody mary bar for brunch. Menu was nice and had a variety of exotic items. I had one of the fritata's that was very good.

I must admit what drew me in was the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese, anytime good cheese is involved I'm interested. Upon entry I was intrigued. Reading over the food menu I was pleased. Once the food arrived...I was AMAZED!!! Double hats off to the Chef for his delightful creations. The food varieties are astounding and quality reigns supreme. I started with the homemade pierogies (sidebar: skipped the Mac and cheese only because there were so many awesome choices!!!). The chef did not disappoint. Rounded my meal with the Ramen and it rivals my favorite ramen restaurant in NYC. TRULY one of a kind! If I could have hugged the Chef I would have. My husband got the Trapp burger, which according to our server Andrew can and WILL rival any burger out there! He did not mislead!!! Did I forget to mention this place is also a pub with an extensive drink/beer menu! Needless to say this spot is bookmarked for all future eats when we are in the area.

When a place is advertised as a gastropub, some fall short with mediocre beer, food and ambiance. this place certainly delivers. Coming in on a Saturday night, you're met with a boisterous crowd, busily eating, drinking and conversing, all with live music in the background. Dress is casual, crowd aged generally from 30-50. Approx 250 bottles of beer on tap, along with about a dozen draft beers, and wide variety of menu items. Food specials and drafts are written on a chalkboard near the bar. Seating for 50 at tables and hightops along the wall, plus another 20 around the square bar, complete with a textured copper top. Meat and cheese tray features numerous local selections. We had the smoked trout (lightly smoked, light and delicious) from Emmaus and the peppercorn pecorino from Italy, both delicious. Food choices vary from small plates of pomme frites and fresh raw oysters, tuna poke bowls, mussels and flatbreads to soups & salads, sandwiches and heavier entrees. We had the Trap Door Burger, with dry-aged grass fed beef, pork belly confit, egg, buttermilk aioli, smoked gouda and red pepper piperade and the Pan Roasted Long Island Duck Breast with scotch duck egg and acorn squash ragout. Both were incredible, probably the best food we had during the 3 days we were in the area. Private parking lot, which can get pretty full when the restaurant is full. There were a few children present when we were there, but this is more of an adult-oriented establishment. Would highly recommend and hopefully return again soon.

Unfortunately, there was a strong cold draft at floor level, leaving our feet uncomfortably cold throughout the meal. The hostess was sweet and greeted us with a smile. The food service was unremarkable. Our waiter was not particularly friendly nor personable. The drinks were a weak start. The red sangria was poor. The bourbon cocktail was an odd mix of bourbon, apple cider, and other elements--an awkward, Frankenstein-style whiskey sour that simply didn't work. Worst of all, both drinks were served in thin plastic cups, which immediately cheapened the entire experience. I ordered the falafel sandwich and specifically requested a toasted bun. It arrived not just room temperature, but cold. I sent it back, and it returned burning hot... the bottom soggy... literally too hot to pick up... with no browning or color change, clearly microwaved. Microwaving is not toasting. At that point, the sandwich was inedible. I removed the bun entirely and ate just the falafel, which was dry and largely tasteless. At this point I knew coming back to this restaurant was a mistake. Food timing was another issue. The dishes took roughly 45 minutes to arrive after the drinks, possibly longer. We were all getting annoyed and what started out well when we first walked in turned negative. I wasn't impressed on my first visit years ago... and this second visit confirmed it. Between the poor drinks, cheap plastic cups, ridiculously long wait (with no explanation nor apology), and careless food execution, there's no reason to return.

We got a flight to try out different beers which we thought was very affordable. We got wings to share (flavors were bang bang and Nashville hot) and it does come with celery and blue cheese or ranch. The wings are relatively large and bigger compared to places like wing stop or Buffalo Wild Wings. We personally didn't love the flavors we got as we weren't expecting the Nashville hot to be a dry rub. The bang bang was a good mix of sweet and creamy but we're not sure we would get it again. Other than the flavors, we would say the wings were cooked well. They were crispy but still moist. One thing to not miss out on are the boardwalk fries. We unexpectedly really enjoyed them. We're not typically thick cut fries people but these were done just right. They were super crisp but still nice and soft! Lastly, the burger was a UNIT. Super big, moist, and the combination of all the fresh vegetable toppings with their special sauce was delicious. The homemade chips were the perfect addition. Nice and crispy although the seasoning was a little sporadic. Highly recommend checking out this place for some casual American food that's affordable.

While the kitchen still completely delivers, the front-of-house service was a bit off during this visit. The food was just as good as we remembered. The kitchen hasn't lost a step, and the meal itself was excellent. I thought the kitchen made a great improvement in the sesame seed-topped hard roll used for the Mutha Clucka sandwich, which held together this time and was much easier to eat without being so messy. Unfortunately.. We sat at the bar and it was immediately clear the sole bartender was swamped trying to handle the lunch crowd alone. She did an admirable job handling the parties and made time for small talk with some of the regulars but our service suffered a bit -- my order for an iced tea completely slipped through the cracks and got lost track of until the end of our meal. Even worse,.. it took longer than I would expect to get the manager behind the bar to remove it from the tab. We still love this place and the food is undeniably great, but they definitely needed an extra set of hands behind the bar this weekend. Dropping it just a bit to a 4-star for now, but we'll absolutely be back.
