We think this is one of the best Mediterranean places in Kingston. A few factors: - The Kofka is divine. Really, really good - we always get this. - The garlic potatoes are SUPREMELY divine. Another hidden gem in Kingston. I am always pleasantly surprised when I come back to my hometown to visit and find another amazing restaurant to enjoy. My fiance and I stopped in for a late lunch before we went back to Toronto. Our server was nice and offered just the right amount of service (checking in with us just the right amount). Loved the black tea with cardamom spice that we were offered when we first sat down - so so good! My fiance opted for the beef kefta platter, adding hummus and I got an order of falafel. Our food arrived with a side of delicious housemade bread and hot sauce type dip. Flavours were amazing and the food was super fresh. Looking forward to coming back and trying more items on the menu next time we are in town! read more

My mom and I stopped here for lunch today and it was alright! Nestled in a kind of random shopping center, I wouldn't have noticed it if my mom hadn't been there before. It smells really good when you first walk in, and the people who work here are really nice, friendly, and patient (my mom and I were having a hard time figuring out what we wanted to order). I got the beef kofta wrap, my mom got the chicken dinner plate with hummus and potatoes. My wrap was tasty, but there was so much sauce that it started dripping and falling apart before I got halfway through it, and the lettuce was really soggy from being next to the hot beef. Probably unavoidable, but still was texturally weird for me along with the soggy wrap. I still ate it all, though - the flavor was pretty good, especially with some extra garlic sauce. I didn't try my mom's chicken, but she finished every last bite so I'm guessing it was good! The hummus was nice and fluffy with excellent flavor, the bread (not sure if it was pita bread..it seemed thicker and crunchier) was even flavorful. Beware of extreme garlic breath! Worth it, though. One wrap and a few bites of hummus and I was stuffed. read more

The food and atmosphere here are easily a 4, but from a value perspective I wasn't too happy with what I experienced here. Between myself, my parents and my younger sister, we ordered garlic potatoes, a chicken shawarma wrap, tandoori chicken (with salad), chicken breast (plate) and barg kabob (with salad). Everything was delicious (highlights were definitely the potatoes and the tandoori chicken but also thought the barg kabob was great) but I was really surprised at the paltry portions of meat that accompanied each dish. A $15 plate in Toronto will come with a minimum of two skewers of meat, easily! The taste was fantastic but I was hungry again within a few hours and that made me sad :( I also felt the venue was understaffed since there was just one person manning the entire restaurant when I came by (and it was nearly full in the wake of the Saturday lunch rush). I would love to come back but really hope the value proposition here is re-evaluated - the food is truly fantastic. read more

The restaurant has a nice ambience and the food is mostly good but I was disappointed by the service and presentation. The bread came after the entrees and we had to ask for plates. As for the food: the mantu was delicious and so was the chopli kabob. The meat however was dry. It should have been tender and juicy. The rice and the Afghan bread was dry as well. read more

The food! The food! I can't get enough of it! Soooooooo good! Fragrant, the meat is juicy, you get a generous serving of everything, but you still want more. If you want authentic Afghan or Lebanese food come try this place out. I'm salivating just thinking of this place. read more

Amazing! I'm so happy I went there! I'm Lebanese and always looking to try foods of other cultures. Very delicious food and appetizers. Food might be good. I walked out because they charge more than their take-out menu shows. Some people have enough money it doesn't matter to them. I am not one of those people. I much prefer Alibaba Kabob downtown. Their food is fantastic, and their staff are amazing. read more

We were driving to Montreal from Toronto and looked for somewhere to stop for a bite. We drove in off the highway and spotted the sign in a strip plaza while driving and decided to give it a try. The owner greeted us and asked if it was our first time there and suggested menu items to us. This was such a nice welcome and very helpful. He was super friendly and inviting and a pleasure to talk to. We ordered the Kofta and the Barg dinners. We were told that they grind their own spices and meat and let me tell you, you can tell!!! The taste was so fresh, and so flavourful, you can tell that they are doing things right!!! Even the rice had tons of flavour!!! The also have complimentary cardamom tea, a children's play area, and other wonderful menu items you should check out!!! It was so great that on Our way home We stopped in again for lunch and took Home a Family dinner combo to go!!! (the tandoori chicken was the best Ive ever had!!!) Give this place a try, say hi to the owner, and enjoy the great food!!! We will definitely come back on our next road trip in that area!!! read more

The shwarma was recommended to me by a friend; needless to say I will take their future recommendations with a grain of salt. First off, for $9 I expect WAY more food; the wrap was of laughable size. Secondly, it wasn't chicken shwarma, it was just a chicken breast sliced thinly. The garlic sauce was ok, but once again I've had much better. Got the falafel salad, food was okay.

Went there this evening and the meal was absolutely perfect! We had the falafel to start and ate beef kabob with tabbouleh for dinner. Everything was so yummy! Definitely will be back for more. read more

Good food, need to work on customer service. My table ordered the same main courses but I got an additional side for which I paid extra. However, everyone on my table got that additional side with our meals. I asked the server why I had to pay extra and he said 'they got lucky and I'm unlucky' and walked away. Seriously? This is my favourite middle eastern restaurant in Kingston. Excellent chicken and kofta. The bread is freshly made to order and the service is excellent. Beware, however, that the meal is served with garlic potatoes and garlic yoghurt. My favorites, but will leave you with bad breath. Hah! Highly recommended. read more
