Terrible. The service was slow and bad, waited at least 15 minutes before speaking to anyone, bathroom was gross, they called me over to tell me they didn't have any butter? How does a sandwich spot not have butter? I ended up running late due to waiting so long to place my order even though the line wasn't that long and just grabbed my order (which was half a sandwich, two sides, and a bagel that I just wanted butter on) when it was ready and left. Once I left I realized that they didn't even put the half of sandwich in the bag. So disappointed and a waste of time and money. Would not recommend this location whatsoever. Very limited food available here. They have stacks of bread on the rack but not selling to customers because they need to clear out the staled ones. We asked the girl about those, she replied it's for tomorrow!! Straight caesar salad with no chicken available! The coffee was equally bad. Time to detox with bottled water and veggies... Avoid this location even though there is a Tesla Supercharging Station right next to it. Go to the other one across Dalton Ave. in the shopping mall if you need some charge. The lettuce at this location is always old, discoloured, or wilted. I'm borderline ready to start asking for my sandwiches without the lettuce mix, because I always end up picking so much of it off. It's quite annoying to have to open up and examine your sandwich every single time before taking a bite, especially since the prices are NOT cheap. Stopped on the way to Toronto for a bite, ordered a sandwich, cup of soup and apple juice and was surprised to find it was $28, which I felt was a little steep. But, despite the restaurant being super quiet, the shocker was when I received the meal the sandwich looked as if it had been thrown together and so much sauce on it making it extremely off-putting. The soup was burnt and when I nicely asked if I could have it replaced my request was bluntly denied. As a side note without going into detail the washroom was absolutely disgusting, obvious signs it had been in that state for a few days. I left dissatisfied and hungry! read more

Strolled over to Panera as we were staying at the nearby Marriott which doesn't offer a breakfast buffet. 4/5 stars for the coffee. Decaff was so smooth I didn't need to add cream or sugar. Free refills too! Sandwich was so/so turkey w/avocado I received maybe a teaspoon full of avocado which was disappointing considering the price. The bear claw pastry was fresh and delicious and surprisingly not overly sweet. Our server was was friendly and provided good customer service. My husband and I have just recently discovered Panera Bread. We really like the atmosphere and the food is very flavourful and seems to be low in salt (hopefully it is). The "pick 2" option is very filling with our choice being a small soup and 1/2 sandwich with an apple as a side. The calories are listed right on the menu board too. Today we had an Onion Soup which was by far the best onion soup I have ever had in a restaurant. The Caramel Apple Scones were slightly dry (as a scone likely are to be) but very favourable. Wow. Our family loves Panera bread and I'm ecstatic that Kingston has one as I drive to Toronto every so often. It's so awesome as they had a solid menu of sandwiches, soups and salads. It's perfect lunch food. Or light snack or dinner. Now if they could just come to Montreal. Lol like that would happen. Seriously, with Panera bread as an option why would one set foot in a Subway or Tim Hortons? I mean okay I understand there are some who are brand loyal but I am not a fan of the Yellow Sub nor Timmy Ho Ho's. On my visit I enjoyed a nice turkey sandwich and their M&M cookies are the stuff dreams are made of. Good stuff all around. Service and selection was top notch! read more

Massively disappointed that this location doesn't provide dishware and cutlery for those eating in, which was the majority. The amount of plastic waste created from a family of four was disgraceful and there wasn't even any recycling bins. Until this company cleans up their wasteful ways we will never go again. With their high prices for a small amount of food, they should be able to afford to be more environmentally friendly. read more

I'm late to the Panera party, but I am happy to say I've found the time to try. I personally find it worth the drive across town. I'm a big fan of their broccoli cheddar soup, it is to die for! Also, the fact you can order it in a bread bowl just made it so much better. I hadn't ate from a bread bowl since I was a kid, so it was a nice surprise. I've tried their steak and cheese panini, kettle chips, lemonade, and caesar salad. All VERY good.. I was impressed by the quality with Panera being a big chain. The only reason I rated 4/5 stars instead of 5/5 is because the ordering process, menu, and staff were a little difficult. For the most part the staff were very polite, but not exactly the most helpful to first timers and seemed a bit impatient or were trying too hard to be pleasant. Menu can be a little intimidating and confusing at first..as well as a tid bit pricy! Overall, it's a great place that I will be returning solely for the food and my new found addiction to their soup! read more

We came off the highway on our journey from Ottawa to Toronto in search of a place to eat. We didn't feel like fried food or pizza. Surprised by the lack of a Subway we searched a little more and found Panera. Inside, the restaurant is very reminiscent of a bread shop but with seating. There are many choices on offer from Paninis to soups. Each item listed on the menu also shows its calorie value which is really helpful for those watching their intake. I ordered a Ham and Swiss Panini which came with a choice of a side - an apple, bag of chips or a piece of French bread. I would have preferred something like a side salad but that's fine. If you buy a sandwich you are also given the option to buy a pastry for a reduced price as a desert. As for drinks, you will find coffee, tea etc although they do not offer skimmed milk which was a bit of a letdown. I will probably go back there when I'm next making this journey through Kingston. read more

Walked in at 11:15 for breakfast and was told breakfast was over at 11:00. When we asked if there was anyway to still get some kind of breakfast food was told no in a not so friendly manner. Then was given the statement "besides, we through away the food right at 11:00". Hm. I understand operational efficiency and have worked at a restaurant and know there is some flexibility especially when trying to make customers happy. Came to Panera since it is one of our fav spots in other cities. Smoothies were tiny. Also very disappointed in the size of the sandwiches. Panera bread just opened this morning in Kingston and I so wanted to like it because I'm sick so sick of Tim Horton's. I went through the drive thru which was surprisingly not busy. The service was quick but just "meh" as far as friendliness which is fine by me first think in the morning. I ordered a sausage and egg breakfast sandwich. The bread was really nice; soft on the inside with just enough crunch on the outside. The egg was freshly made if a little bland (I think it could have used more salt an pepper). The sausage on the other hand was not like any breakfast sausage I've ever had - it just wasn't very tasty. I couldn't actually find any cheese although there was a small amount of white goop on there that could have been melted cheese; not really sure. Over all it had a very tart flavor which is not what one expects when you bite into a breakfast sandwich. This is there first day and I will definitely try again tomorrow and they gave me a nice travel mug so that's why it gets three stars. read more

Great food, great staff. I went in for the first time in the summer, and found the staff incredibly helpful. They new their menu well, had great suggestions, and were happy to make substitutions.
