Time after time is not only a great song, but it is the frequency of great service that we constantly get at Limestone. My son's first car is a Toyota Fit, 160,000 miles on it, manual transmission. Recently, he wasn't driving it because of a loud sound. He brought it to Limestone and he got it back a few hours later- problem fixed- no charge!!! To me, it doesn't matter how small the problem is- you still have a mechanic spending some time on the car to diagnose the problem and fix it, so we should have been charged their hourly rate at a minimum. Their generosity is very much appreciated, and it goes a long way. We bring all of our cars to them for service (that we pay for ), and we wouldn't even think twice about going somewhere else. Today, on my Uber ride there to pick up my car, the driver and I were talking about how honest and friendly they are and what great service they provide. I was told by my dealership that I needed a catalytic converter to the tune of 5 to 7 thousand dollars. A Friend suggested I bring it to Limestone since that price was ridiculously high. This reputable station looked it over and found that it didn't need a converter at all. They fixed a problem with a tire and for $37 I was on my way. So nice to deal with such an honest mechanic. Dylan needs a lesson in Customer Service And managing times for appointment. I made an appointment for 7/9/25 for an oil change. I waited for my car at home to have oil change from 7:00 am til 3:30pm. I told him I needed it by 4:00. at 3:30 i went to garage & I said I need my car could he do it now while I sit in garage office and wait. He said no he had someone coming in that has a 4:00 appointment. Asked if I wanted to make an appointment for another day. Are you kidding me!! Limestone has always provided honest, fair, quality work for both of our cars. Their prices always come in under what I am mentally prepared for the work to cost, which is always a nice feeling. I have primarily dealt with Dylan. Every time I bring in one of our cars, Dylan takes the time to explain to me exactly what is causing the issue and gives me an honest assessment of the work that needs to be done. I have never felt that he has tried to up-sell me or convince me to get more work done than is needed (once he even told me that the car did not need the expensive brake work I thought it might). I find their drop off/pick up system especially convenient. If you can get there before 8 PM, you can drop off or pick up your car from the gas station attendants, long after the shop has closed. I prefer their system to the drop box system I have had to use at other shops prior to moving to Ridgefield. read more

Nice workers but the shop manager is the worst. Been here several times to recycle oil and he is always "full". Asked to do a new tie rod and he said he "doesn't touch trucks". In the 20+ years that Limestone has been servicing my cars, I've always found them to be extremely trustworthy and fair. I no longer incur exorbitant fees for scheduled maintenance; they only do what is required/recommended. Today, however, they elevated things to another level for me. We had been having trouble with our older car, and when I called to say that it wouldn't start one afternoon, Robert had strongly suggested that we bring it to the dealership, as he felt that it was unlikely that they could fix the problem and didn't want me to incur unnecessary diagnostic fees. Because of our trust in them, and our hope that it was a more generic mechanical issue, I convinced them to at least give it a try. They kept it for a week, ultimately determining that it needed to be towed to the dealership. When I went to settle the bill with them for their diagnostic work today, I was told that there wasn't any.... it's service like that which keeps me coming back. read more

First time going to this shop. I work in Ridgefield and stopped on my way to work to have my emissions test done. Parking was a little limited but it's a service station not a department store so...whatever. I walked in to the person behind the counter talking on the phone to what I can only assume was a customer. I received no acknowledgement of my presence as he continued to talk. There was an employee yelling at another employee out in the shop area which probably isn't good to have all the doors open with customers around and on the phone. About five minutes later someone emerged from the service area and I explained why I was there (the other guy was still on the phone). He took my keys and pulled my truck in for the test. Less than 10 minutes later I was on my way. The "customer lounge" area consists of two chairs in front of the coolers and snacks, but I've seen much worse. Overall the experience was pleasant and extremely fast. Aside from standing there waiting to be acknowledged by someone...anyone...it wasn't a bad experience. Not sure about their other services but for a quick emissions test you can't really beat it. I was in, out, and on my way in under 15 minutes. read more

This is a terrific place!!! Here you get full serve gas for much LESS than the cost of self serve in the rest of Ridgefield! I love to pull in here to save money and relax while someone else pumps the gas!! They pump the gas, and wash front & rear windows. If you ask, they'll put in window washer fluid and check and put in oil for you. Very personable workers, and a busy shop working on a variety of makes of car. Pamby has full serve, but you can't read their prices from the street. Shame on them. read more

Then said would be over 3 weeks to repair and the repair would be over $1800 at best (after not having seen my car or diagnosing it). Seems like they don't want or need the business unless it's straight profit for unreasonable prices at the consumers expense. I make my appointment for tire change at 9am, i dropped my car and go home. i'm back at 10.40am and my car still not ready. Because they tell me, if i dropped car, its mean i do not rush. I have lived in Ridgefield on and off for more than 30 years. I have stopped at Limestone for gas, but never for any auto repair. I always went to the dealer. How did I know that we have a "gem" of an automotive repair shop right here in Ridgefield. I brought in my SUV for a general overhaul, asking Robert and his crew to check out everything. They did. Told me at the moment the car was in good condition at 115,000 miles. Just be aware of fluids or other signs of repair in the future. The total cost was less than a dinner in Ridgefield without the wine! I was very impressed by their professional manner, courtesy, and knowledge. Crooks!!!!!! Watch these guys they are crooks and very unprofessional. My vehicle was towed into there shop by the P.D. and they tried tacking on a lot of extra fees to increase the bill. In the state of Connecticut there are maximum allowable rates established by the Department of Motor Vehicles for non-consensual towing and storage. When I asked to see the bill the man behind the counter with the glasses politely explained it to me, However there were charges on it for labor. Having been a member of Connecticut Towing and Recovery Professionals (TRPC) since 2000 I knew that there should not be any labor charges on my vehicle. Labor charges can be applied to your bill for services such as winching if the vehicle is disabled and cleaning up debris at accident scenes or time for drivers who have to wait on scene during accident investigations. My vehicle runs and drives and there was no wait time so there should have been no charges for labor on my bill. When I asked the man with the glasses how there is labor on the bill he said he needed to ask the the driver because the driver told him there was labor. This was understandable and the gentleman was trying to fix the bill for me when all of a sudden this skinny grey haired man that was to the right of him freaked out and ran to the shop saying how if I wanted to argue with him he will be right back. I was taken aback because I simply asked a question with no attitude and didn"t understand how I argued with them. I then glanced around looking for the tow rates that should have been posted since that is a requirement by DMV so that I could double check the rates because I thought maybe there was an increase this year that would cause my bill to go from the $88.00 it should of been to the $150 they tried charging me. I could not find the rate sheet anywhere in sight. Then out came the skinny grey haired man with a heavy set individual who I would assume is the owner or manager since the skinny guy kept hiding behind him saying how if I wanted to argue I could argue with him. He then cowered into the corner. I then looked around the heavy set man who was now giving me attitude about the bill and I asked the grey haired man how was it that I was arguing with him. He refused to answer me. The heavy set manager/ owner guy then started arguing with me about the bill and I simply stated that I was wondering how there was labor on the bill since there was none. The man with the glasses then stated to the heavy set man that the driver told him that there was labor but there was none. Heavy set guy then turns to me and goes you know what fine I will do this and takes the pen and scratches off the phony labor charge and goes I'll take off this labor charge here and Ill give you a $22 storage fee for the day. I then told him that that was ridiculous because the vehicle had only been there for 30 min and a storage charge should not be applied yet nor should it be on there because I requested it to be towed to my house which was ok with the officer on scene and therefore it should have been towed there. I then told him that his driver told me he needed to bring it to the shop first because he had to finish washing his truck. After a few minutes of huffing and puffing over the desk and a few groans the heavy set man finally charged me the normal state regulated rate for a nonconsensual tow which he would only take cash for even though he displays mastercard and visa stickers on the desk. I didnt want to start another argument by asking to pay with a card so I paid the cash and was on my way. If I really wanted to argue with these guys I would have also brought up in conversation the fact that there driver was very unprofessional. He was using a small cabover flatbed with a short bed and it sat real high. The incline was too steep for the car so he should have used boards to protect my car but instead he drove my vehicle right into the bed loading and unloading it and damaged the bottom of the nose on my car. when the vehicle starts to rub on your bed usually you stop and correct the issue instead of slamming the gas and causing more damage. CHEATS!!!! Brought my SUV in for "check engine light". Charged $900 for 8 spark plugs. Light now off, but comes back few days later. Limestone said that dealer would better be able to fix. Dealer showed me that only 1 spark plug was changed, 7 other were OEM!. Went back to Limestone and they first denied they only changed 1, showed them the 7 original plugs, then they said it must have been a "mistake" in the billing! Charged for parts and hours of labor to change 1 plug! - the mistake was that I went here. Got my $ back but will never go back, not even to buy gas as they deliberately lied and cheated! read more

HONEST - QUALITY WORK - QUICK - KNOWLEDGEABLE - FAIR - I was visiting in Ridgefield from out of town. My car smelled of gas. Another mechanic advised me that the car was too dangerous to drive, not reparable and I should either rent or buy a car to return home. Upon advice of local residents I dropped the car at night at Limestone. It snowed 8" overnight and all the next day. Robert at Limestone dug my car out, diagnosed it - fixed in 45 minutes all for $81. I could have raked over the coals. Obviously I highly recommend Limestone. read more
