WoW! This place is a diamond in the valley! A legit authentic Turkish diner! My mom and I were just passing through town and somehow found this place because of Yelp. Thanks Yelp. We started out with Turkish coffee and they were in these really cool antique looking cups. It felt like I had to drink it with pinkies up. The coffee tasted perfect. We ordered the hummus and cacik as appetizers. The hummus had good flavor and consistency. The cacik was so pure & fresh tasting. The pita was also very good & fresh. My mom ordered the mix Kabop platter & of course she shared some of it with me. It was not only hot & fresh but the flavors stood out very well. Wow - what a GREAT meal! Driving along I - 78, it was time to stop for dinner and a quick check on Yelp revealed this establishment. Living near the vicinity of Paterson New Jersey, Turkish restaurants are a dime a dozen in my neck of the woods. But what would Turkish food be like in Hellertown PA?!?!? Frankly, this was one of the best Turkish meals I have had anywhere - even having traveled the Middle East. When I arrived, the owners were sitting in the window seat enjoying a friendly chat. Walking in the door, they jumped up and greeted me as I arrived... kind of like I was an old friend. The menu revealed many of the usual Turkish specialties.- plenty of kebaps (kabobs), salads and dippable appetizers like baba ghanouj and hummus. I chose the Adana kebap and as you can see in the picture below, and absolutely beautiful dish arrived at my table. It comes with a salad with an excellent homemade dressing and your choice of bulgur or white rice. I asked him to split half rice half bulgar. While most Turkish restaurants utilize commercially baked pita bread, as I walked out of the restaurant and paid my bill, I saw the family baking fresh pita from dough in the kitchen. A very nice touch! As other reviews have mentioned, the food is extremely fresh. While these guys might charge a dollar or two more than other Turkish places I've been to, the freshness of their food warrants it. Very small place, so I'd suggest take out is better than eating in. Friendly staff, about three of them total. Started with the Biber ezme which is like a peppery hummus, nice to dip with pita chips. Entre was the Lamb sish kebap and Alexander Iskender Kebap. The lab was nice and tender and seasoned well. Finished off with the Knuefe. Some of the spelling on the menu is not what I am used to but I believe this was supposed to be Knafe. It was good but much more dense than knafe I've had. It was a big piece too. read more

Easily the best place in hellertown to order food from. Everything is so fresh, and well seasoned. The choban salad is phenomenal. I used to go to Quakertown to get gyros at theos, or occasionally from vassis, however since Limon has opened up they have been unmatched. The food was pretty good - we took it to- go (only option right now). I ordered the appetizer sampler and my husband had a falafel wrap. Only complaint and it's pretty important given the cuisine, the pita tasted freezer burned. They looked delicious - light and puffy pieces of pita, but they were inedible. We threw out the bag of them and all I had to eat my appetizer sampler were the carrot sticks. read more

This is quite literally one of the best places I've ever eaten. The restaurant is spotless and clearly a place of love and tender care. Their decor embraces the lemon theme fully and are staffed by two incredibly nice, accommodating ladies. Their menu is also the perfect size of not too small but not bloated with unnecessary options. They write in little explanations where necessary and the aforementioned ladies are happy to go into more detail about any dish. I ordered the Alexander Kebap and my friend got the Manti. We shared a hummus appetizer that was served with warm pita bread slices. The hummus was really great, very smooth and creamy and hit the perfect balance of olive oil infused nuttiness. The Alexander Kebap was a huge platter of food with an incredibly generous portion of meat. I ate my fill and had enough for another meal left over. It was very well seasoned but I think the sodium content was higher than I realized since I kept emptying my water glass later. It didn't taste overly salty at all and I could have had a dish of the yogurt sauce alone. I had a bite of the Manti and it was really good but not at all like a typical Western pasta dish. It was more like a loose casserole with a lot of sour cream/yogurt in it. I would recommend mixing this one up well before consuming since they sprinkle black pepper on top. There's no way I'm ever going to be able to visit this part of PA again without eating here. read more

Headed to the Big Apple but first dinner. Tonight we stopped at Limon in Hellertown, Pennsylvania and what a wonderful surprise. We are having some of the best Turkish food I have ever wrapped my taste buds around. We are having Biber Ezme, calves Liver, Piyaz salad and Turkish meatballs! I can't tell you the last time I ate calves liver because no one knows how to cook it. Someone in the kitchen at Limon has the culinary chops to produce a moist, tender, the most perfectly seasoned bite of liver you'll ever want to taste. Every dish was beautiful and fragrant and mouth wateringly delicious so I would try anything on the menu at this point. In fact next time I go in, YES next time, I'm asking the chef to pick my meal. OMG! Fresh and oh so tasty! Someone in the kitchen knows fresh produce and meat! The Turkish tea is delicious and warms your heart and soul. The Pita appears home made. The most wonderful part of the experience is the warm and friendly environment that the family has created. They seem to know everyone who walks through the door by name. We came around 4pm on a Saturday to escape from a basketball tournament and couldn't believe there was someplace with such high ratings 10 mins away. Lucky us. The restaurant itself is bright, cozy, inviting and spotless. I didn't get our server's name, but she was so friendly and always smiling. Take a look at the pictures to get a sense of how fresh everything was. We ordered quite a bit so we could taste several different things. Nothing disappointed. Spinach pastry, Coban Salad, Turkish Meatballs and finished with Kadayif and Sutlac. I'd recommend you stop in for fresh food and great service from a family owned business. Loved it. read more

[Repost] Absolutely amazing food - small family restaurant with quality meats cooked just rights. A tendency with meatballs is that they're overly dry and lose the moisture, and I think the chefs were very cognizant of this. Also probably the one of the best pitas I've had in the US. So happy we tried this place. It's a cozy restaurant that I probably would not have noticed if I were just driving past it. The service was welcoming and friendly. We got their lunch specials - the Kofte Wrap with lentil soup, and the Adana Kebap Wrap. We also got the Spinach Pastry and the Baklava rolls. Everything was delicious and we can't wait to try to the rest of the food on the menu. We came here on a Friday afternoon after the typical lunch crowd and it was easy to get a seat. There was one other table occupied. A few customers came in to pick up takeout. There's parking to the left of the restaurant and also plenty of street parking. I am in complete awe of how fresh, savory, flavorful and delicious the food we ordered was! I ordered the Cacik appetizer (yogurt and cucumbers) and the Chicken Shish Kabops that came with a HUGE Chef Salad, rice and flat bread and my wife Michele M. ordered Falafal appetizer and the Lentil soup with a Mediterranean salad and each and every dish we ordered was better than the next. How isn't this restaurant listed as one of the BEST RESTAURANTS in the Lehigh Valley?! Forget going to the overpriced and crowded Promenade Shop restaurants and go to Limon for a gastronomic experience you will never forget. I am still in absolute awe and amazement as to how great Turkish food is and how well the Limon chefs are able to prepare each dish in such a fresh and savory manner. As for the owners of the Limon Restaurant, you have now earned a lifelong loyal customer who will yell accolades from the mountaintops (LEHIGH Mountaintop Campus that is lol) about how great a restaurant Limon is. COVID-19 was being taken seriously at this restaurant as all staff were wearing masks, tape lined the floors indicating a proper distance, and a protective plexiglass divided the counter from the kitchen while ordering. The four of us ordered gyros, two regular, one lamb, and one chicken. Everything was delicious and looked beautiful and fresh (the lamb looked real unlike other Mediterranean restaurants). We were traveling back to NC from NY and needed some lunch. Once again, Yelp saved us from McDonalds and Cracker Barrel. We got there before noon so there was only one other diner in this small restaurant. However, soon every table would be filled. I over heard one diner saying he eats there twice per week. If we lived in Hellertown, we would be tempted to do the same. I ordered the Adana wrap with Lentil soup, and my wife ordered the falafel wrap with fries. Both were absolutely delicious. The Adana was made of minced lamb which was beautifully seasoned. The tzatziki sauce was fantastic on the sandwich-so flavorful. Our server was one of the owners, I believe. She was very helpful. Our food arrived quickly. In fact, maybe because we were there for the first time, she was kind enough to bring us 4 complimentary stuffed grape leaves. These were also a notch above most. The flavors were more complex than the citrusy, tangy rice that is so typical. We also enjoyed Turkish tea and two homemade maamouls for dessert. The cookies were stuffed with walnuts and dates and were the best we've ever had. Be sure to stop here if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed. read more
