I stopped by here earlier tonight with my wife and kids. This wasn't my first trip to Lincoln Avenue Brewery and was probably closer to my fifth. The inside is bi-level, with the bar and some tables on the first floor and a smaller seating area upstairs that can accommodate around 20 people with three four-tops, a two-top, and a six-top. There was a TV showing the World Cup, and you could also see some of their brewing equipment. The red brick walls, red tile floors, Edison bulbs, pressure gauges, and large circular water shutoff valve all combined to give the space an industrial vibe. As I often do whenever I visit a brewery, I decided to go with a flight. At Lincoln Avenue Brewery that consists of four beers, and I chose the MoJo JoeJoe (Coffee Blonde), SNAFU (NEIPA), Aye Matey (Gose), and Grizzly Bear (Grisette). First up was the MoJo JoeJoe. It was nice and light with a pronounced coffee flavor that carried through the middle into the finish. I actually enjoyed this more than your typical coffee stout because the coffee was more prominent while still allowing the beer itself to come through. Second was the SNAFU. It started out smooth before plenty of hops took over and lingered through the finish. Next was the Aye Matey Sea Salt Lime Gose. After the IPA, this beer was refreshing with a good lime flavor. I got the sourness up front, followed by the coriander, before finishing with a strong lime note. It was one of the better gose beers I have had thanks to its balance of tartness and citrus. Last but certainly not least was the Grizzly Bear Grisette. It started crisp but then became surprisingly malty and slightly sweet through the middle and finish, which isn't what I normally associate with a grisette. Even so, it was enjoyable. Out of the four, my two favorites were easily the Coffee Blonde and the Gose. They are completely different styles, making it tough to pick an overall favorite. For dinner I chose the Reuben with potato wedges and smoky bacon aioli while my wife went with the chimichurri portobello flatbread. My Reuben was described as house-cooked corned beef, sauerkraut, homemade Thousand Island dressing, and Swiss cheese on grilled marble rye. My wife's flatbread featured a chimichurri sauce base with portobello mushrooms, roasted red peppers, and mozzarella. The timing of our food was a little odd. My wife's flatbread and my son's pizza arrived with my Reuben, my potato wedges came out a few minutes later, and then my daughter's grilled cheese followed about five minutes after that. My Reuben ended up being good. The marble rye was nicely buttered and toasted, there was plenty of tender corned beef and sauerkraut, and the sandwich was satisfying overall. I do wish there had been a little more Thousand Island dressing, though. My favorite part of the meal was actually the smoky bacon aioli that came with the wedges. It had a great smoky bacon flavor that kept me coming back for more. My wife thought her flatbread was good, although not quite as impressive as some of the other meals she has had here. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed our meals, but the beers are really what stand out here and make Lincoln Avenue Brewery worth the visit. read more

I had my first experience at the Lincoln Avenue Brewery this weekend. It was for a private event, but I think the quality of the product and the high level of service that we experienced would pour over to any other day at the brewery. I was looking forward to taking my husband to this brewery! Today was our very first visit. After walking in we noticed the "seat yourself" sign and took a table, but after sitting for about 10 minutes, no one acknowledged us or checked in. We saw several staff members during that time, which made it a bit confusing...we weren't sure if we were in the wrong section or if there was a different process we should have followed. Sadly, we did not have a chance to try anything. We ended up leaving without being served. I understand that things can get busy, but even a quick acknowledgment would have made a difference. A friend and I stopped into The Lincoln Avenue Brewery on a Wednesday evening for some beers and dinner. I had been there several years ago with the same friend for a hangover curing breakfast of biscuits and Italian sausage gravy, and I remembered how good that was. This time I went to try their house beers, and I was again very happy. The Brewery is a cozy little place tucked in a side street, and the interior is worn but clean and comfortable. The staff are super friendly and efficient, but I should note that it wasn't very busy at the time. In any event, our excellent beers never ran dry, and when we were ready to eat the service was quick. We started with some pickle dip (yum!). My buddy then ordered the black and blue burger - one of his favorites. It's actually a triple patty deal with some hot sausage in the mix. It was messy as hell, but he really enjoyed it. I went with the Buffalo mac-n-cheese. It was very tasty and had a nice kick from the spicy Buffalo chicken. Overall it was a nice experience, and I'll definitely be back. One word of caution though: The Brewery is moving across the street into the old post office building. I'm not sure exactly when this is planned, but I hear it will be soon. The new building is being gutted and refit with everything needed, and will include an outdoor area that can accommodate live music. I'm really happy that they are doing well enough to grow, and can't wait to check out the new place when it opens. read more

Stopped in with some fam for lunch today. Loved the quirky brewery vibe. Their list of what's on tap included an extensive selection of their own beers. Our server was great and quite patient. She let us try quite a few - from their farmhouse ale to their hazy IPA to a "naked pumpkin" beer to their darkest "Dark Side of the Moon." My sisters-in-law (SIL) even tried their pumpkin cider but thought it didn't taste at all of pumpkin. I had the latter which was pretty good - a decent "coffee" flavor. One SIL had the farmhouse and enjoyed it; the other the naked pumpkin and thought it was pretty good - "more pumpkiny than the cider." I tried their popular chicken Caesar wrap and it was pretty good. My SILs loved their food - ordering from the Oktoberfest menu while it still lasted. One got a yummy spaetzle w/ a longer pasta than any of us had had. Nice taste w- the creamy Emmental topped w/ fried onion/shallot. The other SIL got the bratwurst which she really liked - the fresh Mancinis bread, a tender brat, caramelized onions, and some kind of special mustard. The SILs got Apple strudel which they thought was pretty good - though one said she would've liked more cinnamon and the other was looking for a flakier, more typical strudel crust. Very cute brewery with a hipster hometown aesthetic. We've lived here in Bellevue for 7 years and had never stopped in since it opened, but we're very interested in coming to a trivia night. If you go for trivia, make sure you come early because seating is very limited. We arrived at 630pm, and the place was already packed! Over the course of the evening we ordered a cider, some mocktails, and a blueberry mule. All were very good. We ordered a patty melt with the pickle dip on it, a steak hoagie with TONS of hot cherry peppers, and one of the old world pretzels. I had no idea what to expect, but the food was all incredible. The sides of pickled vegetables are somehow what we cannot stop talking about! The pickle dip definitely lives up to everyone else's rave reviews about it on here. Service was great.. Food came out a little slow but we didn't care at all because it perfectly aligned with the start of trivia for us. We will come back and are excited for their new location (where the old Bellevue post office was) to open! read more

This cozy neighborhood brewery in Bellevue is a great spot for food, cocktails, & of course beers! Imo they have the best, huge, delicious soft pretzel in Pittsburgh. It's very reminiscent of a $28 soft pretzel I had elsewhere in that it's nice & fluffy with a good soft bread texture. Plus, you'll save $9 on this one, it comes with beer cheese + mustard, & it's much larger. Pro tip: add their famous pickle dip with your pretzel. The combo is incredible! The blackened ahi tuna BLT on a nice brioche bun was also really delicious - with a kick! Speaking of kick, I'm kicking myself that I didn't take a pic of the drink menu bc I can't recall exactly what was in my bourbon cocktail or the name, but I'm pretty sure it had fig. Adorable spot in a cute area. I didn't try the beet (No-drink-vember) but my friend had the East End Big Hop American Ale and loved it. Smaller, quaint microbrewery with live music that wasn't too loud from the upper level. Baked chicken bites with a homemade buffalo sauce was superb! Pickle dip was delicious as well- recommend pita wedges along with the tortilla chips. Their 511 IPA was solid for a hazy IPA and California common was a great malty beer with significant caramel finish. cherry lime gose had a crisp finish to it and not too sweet as would be expected. Missed out on their jalapeño hammer ipa or ale.... Maybe next time. The server greeted us within a minute of us finding a seat and bartender covered nicely when the server was on break. I'd Never heard of Lincoln Avenue Brewery, until I attended an event recently. From the moment I walked in, it was as if I was in an episode of "Cheers;" or what I assume the show is like I've never watched it ‍. The point is, it was better than anything I could've assumed it would be like. Grant, Lisa, and the staff were very personable and make you feel welcome from the first step inside. I gotta be honest, I'm not a beer drinker. "So why did you go?" Why not? Experiencing new things lead to discovery. I tried the Lincoln Avenue Aye Matey area salt/lime gosey, bulldog dipa, ESB, and the mead. All solid beers, but I can't get over how delicious the sour was. I'm normally not one to like like any lemon/ lime flavored things because they usually taste artificial. However, the sour was so natural and refreshing. Definitely made me more curious about exploring sours. While the beers were noteworthy, and the chicken Caesar wrap was delicious, it is the pickle dip I keep telling everyone about. I got a mouth-watering flavor that made me feel ready to party. I took some of the dip with me and I wish I had taken more. Does anyone know if they sell a jar of this? I want to buy some to bring to share at parties!! I definitely plan to return! I'm currently trying to vet the people that can hang and will mesh well with the laid back vibe. My favorite was the bulldog double ipa. My wife and I split the pickle dip appetizer. The dip is so good! I wish it came with flatbread or some sturdier chips though. We just left Lincoln Avenue Brewery and had a fantastic time. It was my second time there. Everyone is always so friendly and helpful. I love this place. Unfortunately due to work schedules, we couldn't come until Sunday. The beer selection was pretty picked over. However, we got to try a few good ones. I loved the mead the best. I know it's not beer but I love Apis. They always have good selections. My husband really liked the East End Hefeweisen. He also liked the Gose. I liked the Hose A (funny name for a Mexican Lager). The star for us was the biscuits and gravy. we've had biscuits and gravy many different places all over the country. These by far were one of the best. Wow! The biscuit was so flaky and moist. The sausage gravy (sausage from Tom Friday's (the best local butcher) was unbelievable. The side of potatoes was a bit odd but tasted good. My husband loved the grits. I popped in on a recent Saturday night. The place was packed. Right away we were greeted by staff who were friendly and helpful. We had to wait about 5 minutes for a table, but during our wait we were checked on multiple times. I ordered the ESB - I'd actually never had that type of beer before, but I really liked it. I will search it out in the future. My husband had the lime gose - if you like sour and lime this is the drink for you. I usually love sour beers, but lime isn't my thing. I really only stopped in for a drink, but I couldn't NOT order the soft pretzel. It was huge! It came pipping hot and was nice and fluffy inside. I really enjoyed it. I can't comment on any other food, but what I saw of it looked good - I'll have to try it the next time. I love this neighborhood brewery! My boyfriend and I went to their block party over the summer and had a great time! They closed down the whole street and had a band, tents with tables, food and beer. It was a great time and I loved the guava beer I had at it. A few weeks ago I went for brunch with my dad. We are both STILL talking about how awesome it was. We each did a flight to start (Sunday Funday, why not?). Mine consisted of the ESB, Saison, Aye Matey Gose, and Just a Porter. The porter was my favorite, dark and toasty and super smooth. It was fun to sample their beers since each one was so different. I ordered the eggs benedict florentine: house made English muffin topped with spinach, poached eggs and homemade hollandaise sauce served with roasted potatoes. The homemade english muffin was so good, and everything about this dish was perfectly balanced. The roasted potatoes were so fluffy on the inside! They were delicious. I can't believe I ate the whole thing! My dad got the special which was a Monte Cristo sandwich. He raved about it with every bite! The vibe inside is very laid back, and you can tell there are "regulars" that go there. Our waitress was amazing! She was very friendly and down to earth and offered great beer suggestions. The owners Grant and Lisa are the best! They even brought us biscuits to take to go since we were the last ones there as they were closing up from brunch. I would never have known about this cool neighborhood brewery in Bellevue if it had not been for a Yelp Elite event I attended. This was my first time back, Thursday's "cheesesteak night" lured me in & I live 35 minutes away. The outside & inside are inviting...now decorated for Christmas. Staff is very friendly, as are the patrons. In fact I struck up a conversation with someone who had just moved to Bellevue from near where I used to live in eastern PA. The cheesesteak did not disappoint, it was so good I forgot to take a picture. I had a tasty IPA as well. The pickle dip with chips is great as a side or an appetizer. What a nice local brewery! Everyone working there was sooo welcoming & friendly. You got such a warm vibe right away. The owner (I think) was also there and checked on us multiple times, which I love. There was a lot of beer options and all were impressive. The double IPA, highly recommend! Now for the food. I was drawn to Lincoln Avenue Brewery after seeing multiple pictures of their giant pretzel from Facebook friends. We came on a Friday night a little after 6. The inside of the brewery was quite full, so we opted to sit at one of the three outside tables. It was nice out that day, and an added plus was the lower noise level, although that's not something that's going to deter me from staying somewhere. We were greeted quickly by our server and were instructed on how to order a flight (4 beers for $9!). She handed us our card. I was a little disappointed I couldn't get a flight size of the cider, but there were plenty of other beers to choose from. We chose two of Lincoln Avenue's beers and two from other local spots. It was nice to see them supporting other local breweries! We loved the Just a Porter. It was dark and rich without being too heavy, and I would definitely order a pint next time. We indeed ordered the giant pretzel, which came with house made beer cheese and Dijon mustard. The pretzel was huge!! It was very soft on the inside and tasted incredible. Both of the dips were also really good. We actually got a second cup of the beer cheese, which had the consistency more of a spread, not runny like nacho cheese. After eating the pretzel, we definitely didn't need to split a sandwich, but we had ordered it before the pretzel came. My husband and I split the steak and cheddar panini. We got the avocado on the side because I don't like avocado, but my husband does. The sandwich came with a spicy dip, it reminded me of kind of like a salsa, which was very good. It also came with candied jalapeños and napa slaw. The Napa slaw wasn't my favorite thing, but it was good. The jalapeños on the sandwich were a match made in heaven! Loved it. The sandwich was also served with a side of kettle or tortilla chips. We got the kettle chips. They were really yummy in the beer cheese too! The prices are very reasonable for all that you get. At face value, the sandwiches look a little pricey, but it's high quality food and a lot of it. We will definitely be returning, but we'll get either sandwiches or a pretzel next time ;) read more

So we got a couple of flights to be able to try all of the offerings as it was our first time here. First and most likely the last and for a couple of reasons: Location (little too far out of the city) and the pours. Ok the beers were not terrible but they weren't amazing either. They were ok. I'm a big fan of porters and stouts and the ones served missed the mark. I did however like the "I Don't Get It Cream Ale". Out of all of the beers on the menu that one to me was the most ok. The idea of this place is a nice addition for Bellevue. Hopefully more experience and trial & error will lead to a better product. Service is slow and lacking. I live in Bellevue and have always passed this place which seems to always be hopping. Went here on Friday night with the fiancé and we sat outside (wasn't too hot, surprisingly). We walked in and immediately were greeted by someone, super friendly. I had the jalapeño cream ale which was really nice and not too spicy. My guy had the Belgian trippel which had a yummy banana flavor. The reason I'm docking a star is for 2 reasons; my Korean pork sandwich came out pretty cold. Also they have very limited handheld items. If you aren't getting a salad, you only have about 4 options to choose from. As a brewery, the standard is usually 7-10. I'd probably only return here for a beer in the future, but the service was excellent! read more

My girlfriend suggested stopping in for a drink and something to eat. I've never been here so it seemed like a good idea. We walked in, had a seat and were greeted quickly. I'm not fan of certain beers, I do have a simpler taste. Our server had a lot of patience in helping me try to select one. He was friendly and funny. He brought me a sample to try before making a decision. I felt like I was a regular. That alone makes a visit fun. Then it was on to the menu. There's so many delicious sounding offerings. I'm a bacon cheeseburger fan. I try them everywhere. So that's what I'd ordered. My girlfriend ordered the sliders. Food shows up. Sliders? I think they may need to rethink calling them that. They looked like three full sized burgers. You're definitely getting your money's worth ordering them. We laughed because we both knew she would never finish them. She was happy with her choice. My bacon cheeseburger was gorgeous. This wasn't a bar burger. It's one of the best I've had in a while. A full flavored, juicy burger that made me full. I mean full. I'll go back just for that. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable too. We both commented on the decor and older industrial style design. If you haven't tried this place, I suggest that you do. Go for the great beer, but the food, eh. Was looking forward for awhile to try the food at this place, having had only their beers in the past. The menu looks good on paper but with the 3 food items we ordered, I can't vouch for what your experience may be, but it's worth a try. If our experience isn't something that concerns you at a restaurant, that's ok, but I'll review it as it was. I'll begin with the starter, the pickle dip. To accompany the dip, the waitress offered kettle chips, pita bread or tortilla chips. We chose the kettle chips, and being that many items are made in-house, looked forward to that as our "dipper". When the pickle dip arrived, it was surrounded with commercially-produced ruffle-cut chips. After reminding our server that we chose the "kettle chips" with the order, she replied that "maybe" they were out of those, and just substituted the sub-par ruffles if that's all they good get. I have a couple problems with this. One, with an owner seemingly hands-on and according to other reviews always present, how do you just downgrade one of your starters that way, and at a minimum not make sure that servers are aware of this option so they can advise customers? Secondly, how does a server take an order where "kettle" chips were specified, then pick up that order from the kitchen which obviously doesn't have kettle chips, and you don't ask why? Next, instead of offering a replacement to the customer, just delivers it, and when questioned, just guesses why? One of our entrees was a daily feature, Shepherd's Pie. It was described as having as its first ingredient bacon-wrapped leg of lamb. I didn't detect any bacon in the bottom of the crock-style bowl where the shredded meat was, and based on the kitchen having casually swapped an important element of the pickle dip starter prior, I can't even be sure that the shredded meat was in fact leg of lamb, and not beef. Also, having had Shepherd's Pie many times at other eateries, the ratio of the mashed potatoes on top was a little too generous. The other item we ordered as an entree was the boneless chicken wings. They seemed to be as described, and were good. Another personal peeve of mine that I've seen in other restaurants, raised its head here. When the check was delivered, printed on the bottom were calculated tip amounts, for your choice of 15%, 20%, 25%. The calculated amounts they chose to use were based on the check total, INCLUDING the sales tax. Tipping guidelines consistently state that whatever percentage you choose to tip, you traditionally calculate it on the subtotal, prior to sales tax. In the age of computers, it's very easy to program it the correct way, but intentionally or not, a fair number of establishments get that wrong. I feel for what the restaurant business has gone through the past year, however I don't believe the missteps by management and waitstaff we experienced can be charged to today's climate for the industry. read more

This is a small town brewery in Bellevue, PA. It has a rotating beer and food menu. They have menu specials weekly. The place is smaller so it can get busy and fill up fast. Today I had a brisket hash with a side of fruit and a biscuit. I really enjoyed my meal. Everyone at the table were happy with their meal choices. The people I went with go there often so they highly recommend this brewery. The beer list was a mix of IPAs, ales, ciders and meads. They have different merch for sale: T-shirt stickers cups etc. They play live music often. They have outdoor and indoor seating. Street parking available and there is also a public lot down the road. Everyone was super nice and if your in town, it's definitely worth a stop! Plus the bartender employees are all so nice especially Dylan!!! read more

Very positive first experience. First time trying since they opened...usually wait fir a brewery to work out the kinks before judging it. Went for brunch and had a fantastic smoked salmon eggs Benedict with roasted potatoes on a skewer. The beer had solid variety but was just above average...solid variety though and definitely something on the menu for all preferences. The staff was beyond friendly, enthusiastic, and practicing safe policies with seating, masks, etc. will definitely be back! read more

This was a pleasant surprise. Being from a different part of the city, we don't often have cause to drive to Bellevue. But we like beer and had heard the food was good. There were no disappointments. We tried a gose and a cream ale; both were very good. In addition to a nice selection of beer, they also offer mixed drinks, wine, cider and mead. The menu is on the small side, but dishes were prepped with care, and substantial. Try the pickle dip here, because it is a fine accompaniment to beer, and nothing I've had elsewhere- very tasty! The mixed green salad comes with chicken breast and is big. I like veggie sandwiches, and the one here is so satisfying with a just crusty enough bread. Don't be fooled by the name - you can have a very satisfying meal here while enjoying good local beer. read more

What an awesome find way out there in PA. Off the beaten path from Pittsburgh, the Avalon area doesn't exactly have a whole lot going on, but The Lincoln Avenue Brewery was a gem of a find. Highly recommend. The long and short of it: 1. Beer: The reason we came here and we were not disappointed. For a small brewery they had a pretty impressive selection. IPA? On point. Lager? Also damn good. Helles? I thought it was gross but that's on par with 99% of Helles I had and I was just impressed they had one. The highlight of a brewery should be the beer and Lincoln Avenue shined in this respect. 2. Food: The food at Lincoln Avenue took the experience to another level. We weren't even there for a meal, but we were persuaded to order food based solely on seeing the meal that was delivered to the group seated next to us. The Giant Pretzel lived up to its name. It was giant. It was a pretzel. It was delicious. The Spicy Italian Panini was equally good. We left full and happy. 3. Atmosphere: Modern and cozy, Lincoln Avenue managed to marry the small town feel with an up-to-date brewery and it works. There isn't a ton of seating, but given the location you may not need it out there. A relaxing environment to have a brew and a bite either by yourself or with a group. 4. Location: The entire town is way out there..... but the brewery seemed pretty centrally located in the town. So for the locals and the occasional estranged visitor it's really easy to get to. Never a bad thing. I can't imagine why I would be way out here again, but in the event I am, Lincoln Avenue Brewery will be on my must visit again list.
