Dr. Kareem is incredibly kind and gentle--honestly, she's the first dentist I've had who didn't hurt while numbing the area! The office is very efficient too; I was taken in just 5 minutes after arriving right on time. The assistant at the office was so friendly and helped calm my nerves since I tend to get anxious at the dentist. I had a temporary crown placed the same day, and I'll be returning in 3 weeks for my permanent one. I'm really excited to make this office my family's new go-to dental care provider!

When was the last time your doctor/dentist ever called you back, let alone when was the last time they voluntarily called you to make sure you were alright? *insert sound of crickets here* Right!? About two weeks ago my mouth was hurting so bad of and on that it was interfering with two of my favorites pastimes - talking, and eating! All kidding aside, I was pretty damn miserable and decided that enough was enough. Since I did not yet have a dentist on this side of the world, it was time to whip out my phone and do some Yelping. I did not have to search for too long, and decided to give Robison Dental a call. I spoke with Mia on the phone whom was attentive and patient, listening to my woes and helping me schedule an emergency appointment. I have never been one to fear a visit to the dentist. Matter of fact, I loved going to my dentist and adored the guy for the positive feedback I'd receive at each visit. I have never experienced dental problems, dental pain, or pain at this level in general. So at this point I was getting a little scared, to tell you the truth. I figured whatever was going on in my tooth, surely could not be positive if it made me want to yank it out and be done with it alltogether. Whatever treatment was lying ahead could not possibly be worry- and painfree. Walking into the clinic I was impressed by the small details in the waiting area. Comfortable sofas and chairs took place instead of ugly, uncomfortable seating often found in other places. Beautiful books filled the tables, instead of weekly tabloids. I noticed a mini fridge which did not only have V8 and bottled water in it, but also served my favorite San Pellegrino water. I'm not gonna lie, this added a little checkmark in the 'positive' section on my mental scorecard (because I am lame like that, and I clearly have my priorities 'straight'). I brought my uber critical and hygiene minded husband along for emotional support; and he mentioned how nice and clean this office was when it came time to move to the back. Paula was waiting for me, pillow in hand (me likey!). She helped me out with some x-rays that needed to be taken, and stayed throughout the procedure which was to follow. She made me feel very calm and at ease throughout the 2 hours that I ended up spending in her presence. Dr JD was extremely nice and pleasant to talk to. He explained everything very well, and somehow managed to bring the news that I needed a rootcanal without me bursting out in tears or massive shakes. I did regress back to 5 year old me, going back to the inquisitive 'how' and 'but why' state. Dr JD whipped out his little tooth schematic, and had me trusting in him very quickly. I actually kinda felt like "OK - let's do this"! At the beginning and throughout the procedure he did everything possible to make sure that I was comfortable, taking his time numbing half my face to ensure there would be no discomfort whatsoever. You could have thrown a baseball anywhere on the right side of my face, and I bet I would not have known the difference. This whole numbing business was new for me, as where I am from cavities are filled without gas or shots. My husband calls this barbaric, I just like to call him a wusspuss. Either way, I was very apprehensive and concerned about both gas and the numbing shots, but Dr JD and Paula once again made me feel at complete ease. In case you were wondering, Robison Dental Group has a bunch of different payment options available. Whatever your situation may be, it is clear that this office puts their patients' needs first. Mad props to Dr JD for dealing with my neurotic questions, making me feel comfortable and at ease during my visit - and of course for fixing my chopper(s)! Also plenty of kudos to Paula, she is a sweetheart and super pleasant to spend a few hours of unflattering 'agony' with. Also a quick shout-out to whomever picked the amazing playlist consisting of John Mayer-esque tunes..thanks! I have told a couple of people so far that my dentist is boss, and I will continue to spread the word to whomever wants to listen. Dr JD & Robison Dental for the win!

I came into the downriver surgery center Friday, May 8th 2026 to have two molars extracted under…read moreanesthesia by Dr. Alejandro (Alec) Arango. I was referred to him specifically because I have a debilitating fear of the dentist after a traumatic experience. My sinus cavity was perforated in the event of the first procedure. I came back to the center Wednesday, May 13th 2026, after calling the emergency number because I couldn't hold air in my mouth, as there was a hole in my sinus cavity that the air was leaking through. I sat in the exam room for about 10 minutes with my mother, waiting, before Dr. Alec rushed into the room and began telling my mother and I how this was not his fault, and that it was absolutely something I did to cause this issue. For about 45 minutes to an hour I sat in the exam room and was laughed at for needing to be sedated for the procedure to have the issue fixed & told multiple times that I really don't need the sedation. I tried to explain to him that I wouldn't be able to get through the procedure awake, because I absolutely can't handle the sounds, the way it feels, any of it, while having a panic attack because I was humiliated by the entire conversation at this point, and because I was terrified of having a second procedure done. After this I was taken to the operating room, and put to sleep for the procedure while my mother waited in the waiting room. My mother reports that when I woke up, she could hear my screams from the waiting room. When I woke up from the anesthesia, I was in excruciating pain. I was begging for help, trying to tell the doctor and nurses how much I was hurting, but they were just talking over me, to my mother, tell her that this is normal when waking up from anesthesia. I began screaming that I was awake and I was in agony, to which it still took the doctor about 20 minutes before he came back with numbing medication. Then, without warning the nurses held my hands and legs down, and the doctor injected a needle into my sinus cavity with the numbing medication as I screamed. I was still very out of it from the anesthesia and was not expecting them to do that in the slightest, so I fully panicked when they held me down with no warning, and couldn't help but try to get away from the amount of pain that the injection had caused. Words cannot explain the amount of terror and pain I felt in that moment. I am writing this review 6 days after this experience, my face has still not regained full feeling and the whole side of my face is bruised. Dr. Alec called me at around 8pm the night of my second procedure, asking about my wellness, to which I told him exactly how I felt in those moments, how I don't believe he had numbed me before I woke up from the second procedure, and that I would never be back to his building again. He attempted to lie to me about my experience and tell me that what I experienced wasn't the way that things actually happened. Then asked that I please allow him to continue to be my doctor, to which I said absolutely not and I would never be back to his building, again. This phone call lasted 14 minutes. Dr. Alec then proceeded to schedule a follow up appointment for me, without my knowledge. I was called the morning of, and I had to explain how I told the doctor I would never be back 2 days prior. This entire process has been humiliating, traumatizing, and extremely, horrifically painful. This has taken a huge toll both on my mental and physical health. I would not recommend ANYONE to this facility.

I had never had a good experience with a dentist in my life (maybe because I have a tiny child mouth and I'm always being yelled at to "open wider"...) so, I almost never went to the same one more than a couple times. I was hesitant to start over at another place, but I am so glad I did... On walking in, you can tell everyone loves working there and that they are a family. Dr Greg and Dr Joanne (married couple practice, how nice?) are so sweet they provide their own figurative job security; plus they have gadgets for checking your teeth that I had never heard of (including this thingy you can rest your teeth on that holds my tiny child mouth open for fillings, etc.) and the whole staff is excellent at what they do. In addition to regular cleanings, I had Six-Month-Smiles (quick braces thingies) to re-straighten my teeth before my wedding, so I got to spend more time there than the average patient which allowed me more time to observe the interactions between the hygienists, assistants, techs, doctors, and other patients. Being an extremely anxious person on a regular day, let's just say I wasn't looking forward to it. I arrived, filled out the new patient paper work and was quickly whisked to the back by the dental hygienist, Nicole. I immediately told her of my anxiety, embarrassment, and fear. She was not only empathetic and considerate of my words, but she made all those feelings disappear! Her professionalism and understanding eased all of my worries and I'm forever thankful. Avoid Dr. Jane if you value your time, money, and smile…read more I first saw Dr. Jane in 2018 to address TMJ issues, and she referred me to a specialist. I spent years with that specialist and returned to her in 2021 to complete my treatment, under the impression that it would only take two years. It's now nearly three years later, and I'm faced with two choices: switch to another orthodontist or live the rest of my life with a smile I'm not proud of and unresolved jaw issues. Dr. Jane has shown a complete lack of care and attention to my treatment. For almost a year, I've been told that I'm "just a few adjustments away" from being done. Ten months ago, conveniently after my payments we're over, was the first time she said it was about time to remove my braces. When I pointed out my misaligned teeth and remaining issues, she said we would make the adjustments as I "deserved a perfect smile" after all this time, yet she has done little to make it happen. The problems are blatantly obvious. My front teeth are nowhere near level, I still experience TMJ issues, and my molars are so far misaligned that I can lick the brackets on the outside of my teeth even when I'm completely biting down. When I brought my front teeth alignment issues to Dr. Janes attention she said she "doesn't see it" or dismisses my concerns and said she would "leave a note in my file". Other people notice my teeth are misaligned at a glance, yet Dr. Jane keeps telling me I'm "one appointment away" from being done. The best visit was after she misaligned my teeth so much that my bite was off and I could no longer bite without my jaw popping. Dr. Jane then got visually aggravated with me and told me that was impossible that happened and issues like that are only caused by trauma. The final straw was seeing pictures in her office of other patients with clear misalignment after their treatment. At that point I realized that I will never get the results im looking for with Dr. Jane. I've spent over $13,000 between Dr. Jane and the specialist she referred me to, only to hear from my new orthodontist that I'm still months away from completing my treatment. I asked for a partial refund as I know they spent time and materials on my treatment. Dr. Jane has refused to refund me any of my money even though her treatment has not been anywhere near satisfactory. Now I get to go spend another $6,000 due to her failure to align my teeth. Don't make the same mistake I did. If you're considering Dr. Jane, think twice before committing your time and hard-earned money to an orthodontist who seems incapable of prioritizing her patients' care or achieving satisfactory results.
