I would give more stars if I could. I had traditional metal braces in high school to try and fix my bite. I have suffered from TMJ for a long time. I went to a dentist in Oak Brook who specialized in TMJ. The treatment plan I was presented with astounded me. The total plan would cost me more than $45,000, was incredibly invasive, and I would end up with many of my teeth being crowned. I was waking up with excruciating headaches daily. My headaches were so severe that people around me could tell just by looking at me that I was experiencing a bad headache. My jaw clicked and popped and sometimes even locked up on me. Dr. Kim presented me with a treatment for Invisalign. I have now completed my full ortho plan and am waiting to order my retainers after I complete a little dental work (I decided to replace my old silver fillings and needed a couple of crowns). I can not even begin to try explaining how quickly my headaches started to subside. I would say by the time I ended my 3rd set of trays, the headaches were about gone. My bite is 100% improved, and I do not have any clicking or popping. My smile is wider, and it just feels like everything fits better. Thank you so much for helping me feel better. A couple other reviews summed it up well; it's all about the money here. I was a patient at Lincolnway for ~1.5 years. The staff is wonderful, kind, and gentle. I love giving praise and wish I could leave it here. However... As a dental practice, Lincolnway is problematic. My husband and I started going here when we moved. We were diagnosed with a collective 14 cavities, despite never missing a 6-month visit. I previously had zero cavities and my husband had 1, which our old dentist was watching. Dr. Kim told my husband he had 11 cavities. My jaw clicks and I was assured Invisalign would fix that. I was also warned my bite would damage my teeth over time so I signed on the dotted line. Unfortunately this was before my husband's 11 cavities set off alarm bells. During the scan for Invisalign I was told I had 3 cavities; previous X-rays yielded nothing. Besides being a cash cow in itself, I believe Dr. Kim also pushes Invisalign because she can see 'better' with the 3D scan, and you walk out with more dental work on the books. She tried to get my husband a consult too. My husband went to a different dentist for a second opinion. He had Dr. Kim's X-rays available, but the dentist said they're poor quality and hard to see. She took her own X-rays at no cost and told my husband he doesn't need a single cavity filled. So 2 out of 3 dentists agree he has no cavities to fill, and Dr. Kim says 11. I'd already signed an Invisalign contract with Dr. Kim for $5,500. Btw it's $5,900 now; just a tip, don't pay a general dentist $6K for Invisalign. Always go to an orthodontist. Research and you'll learn why this is a universal recommendation; Invisalign used to be exclusively authorized for orthos. A responsible dentist will refuse to take on bite issues and refer you to an ortho. I had both crossbite and overbite. 47 trays, zero rubber bands for bite issues, and 14 months later, I've transferred to an orthodontist to fix my bite. Suffice it to say, my jaw still clicks lol. I was a fully compliant Invisalign user, and now I can't chew food on one side of my mouth. I was set to start wearing 'overcorrection' trays on this round, implying they believed I would be done. I did make a courtesy call to Lincolnway letting them know I'd transferred, and I also politely inquired if they ever do partial refunds at my ortho's urging since we didn't complete my treatment, but Dr. Kim never returned my call. I'm not willing to fight over it; it was my expensive lesson to learn. I often wonder if Dr. Kim deletes critical reviews. They push reviews hard in this office and there is currently ONE review out of 200 which is below 4 stars on Google. Yelp tells a different story. On the other hand, Dr. Kim is exceedingly sweet. If you read those reviews you'll see things like 'I needed extensive work done but Dr. Kim was so patient and she explained everything'. Who told you that you needed all that work? Right; Dr. Kim. So perhaps no reviews are being deleted, but rather people are so distracted by how pleasant she is that they don't notice things aren't in their best interest. That seems unlikely as people are generally way less patient than me and this practice shares the struggles of many others; wait times, scheduling issues, miscommunications, lack of basic modern conveniences (E-sign, online scheduling, patient portal). Dr. Kim is the sole dentist here and you definitely feel that pain at times. I would very often not see her at all for my appointments. There's an upsell at almost every appointment, e.g. fluoride varnish. If you're familiar with sales tactics like assuming the sale, you'll start noticing them here and you won't be able to stop. All in all this is probably an okay dentist if it's super close to you and you're very comfortable advocating for yourself. If you struggle with confrontation, or just feel like you shouldn't have to constantly fact-check your healthcare provider, then I can't recommend it. At the very least, always get a second opinion. Update: My new dentist says I have no cavities. No surprises here. She further explained that patient history is important, and if there is no history of prior cavities then you certainly watch first. You don't drill healthy tooth. read more

This is an update to my earlier review. Still five stars! I happily travel from Chicago to Aurora to see Dr. Kim and her staff. My TMJ discomfort is much improved with Invisalign and I'm only about 25% into my treatment plan. I've also started seeing Dr. Kim for my general dentistry needs. She is top-notch. She is gentle and kind and does excellent work. I've had three fillings repaired so far. One was a filling in the front of my teeth and it looks wonderful- can't even tell it's there. Her assistant, Trishy, is also wonderful and kind. I was apprehensive about dental work in the time of Covid. Dr. Kim has invested time and money in state-of-the-art air filtration and PPE. I really appreciate her investment is me and her staff. I trust her immensely. read more

This has quickly become my all-time favorite dental practice. After moving to the Naperville area, I was on a quest to find a great local dentist, and Lincolnway Dental Center hasn't disappointed me. In fact, this staff goes out of their way to make all patients feel welcome and like family! They were very thorough reviewing my x-rays and explaining what I needed going forward. They walked me through my insurance and answered all of my questions. More than that, I was very pleased with the work they've done. A visit to the dentist isn't at the top of my list of enjoyable things to do in life. However, Lincolnway Dental does everything to make it as comfortable and friendly as possible. I travel from Iowa to Illinois to see Dr. Kim for many reasons. First, you can expect quality and thorough service at her practice. I am currently completing an invisalign treatment, and Dr. Kim has provided me with all the information that I need about what I will undergo. She is open to sharing what my experience will be like, as well as willing to show me via computer technology what my money and time/effort will give me. She has been very flexible with my traveling back and forth and works with me to make sure that I complete my treatment in a timely manner. Second, Dr. Kim regularly checks in on me to see how my treatment is going. At my last appointment, she let me know that I can call at any time if I had questions, concerns, or experienced unexpected pain/discomfort. In all my years of having dental work done (and trust me, I've had a lot done), she is the only person who has offered me this opportunity. Last but not least, you can expect Dr. Kim to treat you like a family friend and/or colleague. When she takes on new patients, she works to her highest potential to make sure you are comfortable, taken care of, and treated respectfully. Dental appointments can be very intimidating, and Dr. Kim understands this. During a procedure, she will typically ask me how I'm doing and whether or not we'd like to take a break. When she knows that a particular procedure may be uncomfortable, she will always move slowly and share her highly optimistic and positive attitude. You will leave her practice smiling (both literally and figuratively) and glad that you chose her. Overall, I give my highest recommendation to Dr. Kim. I cant tell you enough of how kind and sweet Dr Kim is. She really listens and gives great advice on your teeth, heath and looks far down the line on what you need to do in the future. As the review before mentioned, Dr. Kim is kind. The staff is also kind but their number one concern isn't the patient it's the money. Every time I went in for a regular cleaning they tried to sell me something. At first I thought it was something that I needed as a treatment. Later I discovered that it was all a sales pitch. They are so good at the sales piece it was hard to distinguish if I really needed this product or they were just pushing to make a dollar. I understand your a business but simmer down on the promotions during a regular scheduled visit. In addition, they are very expensive dentist office. I changed dentist office with higher credentials in Aurora and compared costs. I was getting ripped off at this place. So it's personal preference if you don't mind walking in to the lions den of dentistry sales. This was not the place for me. read more

I'm the type of person who is always hesitant to go to the dentist, but I can fully recommend my experience with Dr. Kim. All of my worries of pain during dental procedures were alleviated once she started working on my teeth problems. And I had a lot of teeth problems! I came to her when I needed to replace a really old crown, get a new crown, and fix a cavity. She and her staff handled all of these problems quickly and pain-free, and I'm super happy with the results. Dr. Kim is very intelligent and knowledgeable. She is nice and personable and will get the job done. Her hygenists are great as well and put toddlers at ease. Also, her office is up to date with the latest technology. The finance/collections personel are extrememly rude. They demand money and make you feel extremely uncomfortable. Even if you nicely say you will send a check you will get a lot of push back to pay right then and there - keep in mind i've always kept my account with them in good standing and still get push back. Prices are high and once I found they were overcharging me based on the insurance I had, I had to talk to them several times to get this corrected. Most people would not notice unless they talk to their insurance company. Lastly, they rescheduled me a few times last minute on Saturdays. They expect you to drop everything and come in immediately. One time I came in as scheduled and was turned away being told I had a different time - guess they had rescheduled without confirming with me - when I told the receptionist my time she quickly said no that wasn't the time, I pulled out my confirmation card with my original time and she said, oh I guess it was, but we have no time anymore. Way to put the customer first! My rating is based on quality of dental service, hygenists and technology. Customer service is terrible which is sad because that should be the easiest thing to get stars on! read more
