Yeah, I wanted to like this place. I went to there last year for both ear and eye care. The ear side required unreasonable multiple visits. I needed cataract surgery and the woman in the office quoted me a stupid price of $3,000 per eye + clinic charge which she could not quote. I instead went to a WONDERFUL clinic in Las Colinas and paid less than $1,500 with my Medicare. The staff at Lind Burk's clinic seems to be not qualified, don't have a good knowledge of costs, or are upselling to pay for such a huge staff. I felt like I was in a car showroom. The clinic I went to has given me 20/20 vision with reasonable follow up visits. This review was to not so much to criticize, but hopefully to maybe suggest they change their practices and be more upfront with costs, procedures and spend more time with the patient (I felt rushed). read more

Dr. Burk is an excellent doctor. I had very dense cataracts in both eyes and very complicated vision. She removed them. I am super happy because the doctor helped me recover my vision. Go elsewhere. This is just a money-printing operation, in my opinion. In my experience, they churn patients through a system like robots in a factory with little regard for patients' needs. They are very unresponsive to questions, and in one instance, it took 8 days for someone to return my call. In another instance, after asking numerous times to talk with Dr. Burke about an important question that affects my pilot's license, all I got was the run-around. Dr Burk is an excellent doctor. I went to her because she did my mother eyes in the 90's. She did my cataract surgery on both eyes 07, 08 2024. My left eye gets scratchy. She put a medicated contact in it. I have to go back in a month. I got glass for distance for driving. For the most, I'm pleased. read more

I brought my grandmother for her eye exam. I had high expectations and was hoping to come here myself since I'm back in Dallas. I can confidently say I will never come back. Terrible service from the assistants. I don't know how trains and hires them , but they're doing a terrible job. Absolute trash. Come here if you want to be belittled . The saddest part is that most if the patients are elderly and come alone, only God knows how they're treated. I can't imagine how much worse my grandmother would have been treated if she came alone. Linda L.Burk has HORRIBLE bedside manner. She obviously has been mistreated by a man, Because she cared very little about my situation and mocked my pain level several times. I had a chemical burn to my cornea by way of a corrosive cleaner. When they administered drops in my eyes it burnt very badly as my wound was less than 24 hours old. She commented that I was being very whiny. ( first obvious sign of a man hater). She condescendingly told me my eye would be fine. I kept mentioning the pain and how tender it was. And she said there was nothing she could for for the pain, but when I got home I could whine all I wanted. (Exact words from her mouth) She had ask to come for a follow up 2 days later. I explained I had a colonoscopy scheduled and she replied " well cancel it". I had waited 3 months for that appointment. I was not canceling. She said " come after, that procedure is no big deal". I asked it I could work with my one eye dilated she said "yes if you want to be frustrated all day and whine some more" I asked how long it would be dilated she said "could be up to 3 weeks, but I don't think it will" "we will see". She mentioned me whining at least 5 separate occasions. My wife was there and saw the whole thing. This injury is super painful and sensitive. If you want a factory Dr. that doesn't care and just loads up appointments,and shows up whenever she feels like, insults and mocks your pain level. Then this is your gal. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND USING HER. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A MAN. Watch out for the generic automated reply she will send if she decides to reply to this. Dallas Location: Awesome! Because of Dr Burk's experience in a variety of eye issues she knew immediately to take me off of eye medications (containing brimonidine-many are allergic to) a previous doctor had me on to alleviate part of the unusual eye issues I was experiencing. Her experience led to a variety of innovative treatments healing my eyes and improving my eyesight! The staff has always been helpful, pleasant, and accommodating. Over the last 3 months I have been in the dr's office more than most, twice a week, weekly and then every 2 weeks because of my eye issues. ALL employees, staff and other doctors have treated everyone one I witnessed with the utmost care and respect. I must say I agree with the comments that Dr. Burks' office has changed. It used to be a pleasant environment where the staff, including Dr. Burke took time with you. Well not anymore. First I waited an hour, after my appointment time, before I was called back. And then it was only for the first in a series of tests. My entire appointment took 3.5 hours, from my appointment time, to finish. At then end of that time I only got to see the doctor for maybe two minutes. I had some questions but she deflected them to her staff and zipped out of the room. I even had to specifically ask for the dark sun glasses to cover my dilated eyes. It feels like an assembly line. It feels like neither Linda or her staff care about anything but making money. I'm very disappointed. I expected more for the $300+ dollars I plopped down to not get my questions answered, not get to spend any quality time with the doctor and have to spend almost 1/2 a day at her office. I will say, though, her employee, Stephanie, ultimately was very conscientious in helping me with my contacts. read more

I really didn't wanted to bring my mom to see this Dr because I have heard many bad recommendations in regards or her bed side manners, I remember that many years ago she was a great Ophtalmologist but recently everything changed. As a new patient we expected to have to wait a decent time, we had a 2:00pm appt and we got out at 5:00 pm. My mother is diabetic and has COPD therefore she is on 24/7 oxygen therapy. Plus she has to use a walker all the time and the rooms in the clinic are very small not only that but they did a series of tests that the girls have to move my mom back and forth from one room to another and then wait in another waiting room. Very disorganized employees and very unprofessional. Dr Burk spend 2 min tops then she left and the nurse said that we were good to go. I ended up with a huge headache and unhappy with our first and last visit. read more

I have been seeing Dr Burk for 20 years. She has always been kind and attentive to me. She did my PRK back in 2010 to help correct my myopia. I recently took my son to have his eyes checked with Dr Conner. She's great and has an awesome bedside manner. read more

SAVE YOURSELF AGONY AND TIME: DO NOT VISIT THIS OFFICE. The staff is highly rude, unprofessional, and incompetent. Dr. Burk may be good, but you only see her for literally two minutes. I came here based on decent ratings from some other people, but the wait is long because they deliberately overbook, haphazardly gets patients through like you're some number to them, never bothers to return phone calls and messages, fails to order the correct prescriptions, makes you pay full price after they make a mistake and dodges your inquiries because they probably know they are unethical and is scamming patients for money. Seriously, this place deserves ZERO stars. read more

If you need cataract surgery, and eventually all of us will, Dr. Burk is the best! I have worn eyeglasses since shortly before I was 40, first for reading only and then for everything. My cataract surgeries were painless and easy. They cleared up my glare and brightened up colors. I now read, use computer, and drive (legally) without eyeglasses. 05/18/2022. This was my first and last visit to this office. First it was a 2 1/2-hours office visit to which I've never experienced at an ophthalmologist nor an optometrist. Secondly, I was asked to pay for my prescription. Mind you the office visit was paid for. It's a good racket going on there. The ophthalmologist and the onsite eyeglass place are one and the same. They tried to insult my intelligence with the bogus excuse for charging me for my prescription that was written during my eye exam. When you don't use their place for glasses you have to pay to take your prescription somewhere else. I informed them that I've never been charged to take my prescription. They will try to feed you some cockamamie reason for you being charged. They checked to see if I had a vision plan for glasses to which I wasn't trying glasses there any way. I was that told I'd have to pay to take my prescription elsewhere. I've had my eyes examined every year for decades not one time was I told I had to pay for my prescription. I believe because I didn't want to use their eye ware/glasses place I was to be charged to take my prescription elsewhere. Mind you I only saw Dr. Burk for less than 5 min. I've never seen such a thing that place was like a meat market. The majority of the patients were elderly no telling how they are being raked when it comes to payment and being made to use the onsite eye ware place that is a part of the ophthalmologist office. Being asked to pay for a prescription was utterly ridiculous that's like me going to my primary doctor and being told that I had to pay for a prescription to take to or be called into the pharmacy. I will not recommend this location to anyone. Time was an issue for me and the fact that I was told I had to pay to get my prescription for eyeglasses was another. I'd never ever, ever been asked or told to pay for a prescription $30.00. read more

I was so scared about the condition of my daughter's eye, but after talking with Dr. Burke, I cried tears of joy because she was going to be able to help my baby. This is a wonderful place, she is in network with Ppo, Dmo and she takes medicaid. Before you go anyway else or even if you already have. Go see Dr. Burke, your eyes depend on it. read more

I am absolutely disgusted at the way this doctor treated my loved one. She suffered from a life threatening event and almost lost her vision as well as her life. Not only did the doctor belittle her illness, she completely lacked tact and sensitivity to the patient's condition. First time to visit this doctor with a horribly burning eye infection. Went in with insurance and still was charged 153.20. That's okay, new patient exam. BUT then I was charged an eye exam on top of that because they checked my eyes and giving me a "prescription." How can I get a new prescription when my eyes are not even prepared for one? I had to have eye drops to clear this infection. Good thing is I had this infection in the past and new what I was getting. HOWEVER, the nurse wrote down the WRONG prescription. When I got to Walgreens, it was over $200.00. I called Burk's office and was told she couldn't call me back until after 5 pm because she had over 130 patients that day. So I waited and waited. Finally by 7 pm, I called the emergency phone number and Dr. Burk called me and complained about her staff and had to resend my prescription. I finally got my eye drops by 9 PM, after she called Walgreens. Her office staff is HORRIBLE! They proceeded to charge me for an exam, even sent me a statement after paying the 153.20. I asked for this charge to be removed because I couldn't get a "new" prescription from this exam and they wouldn't. I will NEVER GO BACK. Her staff is very incompetent. Please beware! read more

Dr. Burk has been my ophthalmologist for years, but things have changed and so am I - to another physician. Visiting her practice use to be a pleasant experience with appropriate time, testing and interest provided from the physician herself. Today.... you are required to discuss and settle your payment arrangements up front in the patient waiting room, tests are performed by staff who do not seem to have clinical training or certification, and your time with the physician is about 1-2 minutes if you're lucky. My last appointment was very important to me, in that I have been diagnosed with a rare disease that effects the brain and muscle of the eye and is causing double vision. I brought all the records from my neuro-optometrist with me and these were never reviewed, nor was my condition or related treatment options discussed with me. I left this appointment very let down, hurt and confused, not knowing what to do next. However, one thing was clear - this physician is fired and I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I really liked Dr. Burk. She seemed really smart and took time to talk with you. Not the snobby doctor attitude at all. The wait was not too long at the office either. My only complaint wasn't with her, but with her office staff. I often saw them being rude with patients. When it was time to pay -- I have an HRA account, which it clearly states on my card do not collect a copay or money. The lady tried to collect the entire office visit because she refused to read the card and wouldn't let me explain the plan I have (which is different than a FSA). I had to call my insurance and have someone speak to her. Other than the office, which is why I'm deducting 1 star, Dr. Burk is great. read more

I thought Dr. Burk was going to be great, since my aunt so highly recommended her. But apparently things have changed a lot since my aunt's cataract surgery (in 2007, I think). Nothing about the situation in her office inspires confidence. Everything is set up to where you see her for maybe one minute at the most... and even then, after my cataract surgery, she didn't ask me how I was doing, if there were any problems... She clearly didn't want to be bothered. Also, there is the issue of the fraudulent billing. The papers I originally signed stated clearly that they absorb whatever cost Medicare doesn't pay. Also, I was told pointblank that the total co-pay for the cataract surgery would be $250. But about six weeks ago, when I went in for a post-surgery checkup, I was told I owed them $18.00... I hadn't even received a bill. I thought it must have been some kind of fluke, so I went ahead and paid it. Then yesterday, when I went in for another follow-up visit, they announced I owed $28--and this was for something she put in my eye as preparation for the cataract surgery! Again, I was caught off-guard, and I paid the money... and then walked out. I am so done with them! Does anyone out there know of a good eye doctor in Dallas who accepts Medicare and doesn't perpetrate such shenanigans?
