Same shots, all boring pictures with no imagination (sit down, turn left, face front). Then through a friend we heard of Caren Morris. We found her website and loved her past work, it was exactly what we were looking for. Called and left a message on her voicemail and my call was returned in about an hour. Her prices were extremely reasonable and we discussed what I wanted was some modern family portraits that we could put up in our new house. We discussed the shoot for a bit and we booked. On the day of the shoot Caren was there waiting for us at the park we decided to meet at. As discussed she brought some cool props to aid in getting our creative juices flowing! Caren was super easy to work with and had some great ideas as to what would look great. She was able to keep the mood light and keep everyone engaged. After seeing the final products (just arrived in the mail today) they are awesome! Not only the pictures but the presentation of them to us were on a cute little flashdrive in one of the nicest packages. Really, I was expecting a flash drive in an envelope so this was a pleasant surprise. I recommend Caren Morris to anyone in the area, she was one of the best photographers we've come across.

I wasn't sure if my kids were going to be cooperative, but she was relaxed and put everyone at ease. Even before we scheduled our session, she was very prompt and responsive to emails and gave us many great options on locations and product options. We decided to do our pictures outdoors and she met us at Golden Gardens and was well prepared, having scoped out some great sites to shoot, and even brought some simple props. I was so impressed by how many great pictures came out. After the photos were proofed and put on her secure website, she came out to our house to show us samples of her product offerings, and gave us great suggestions on types of canvases, sizing, and where to hang our family pictures. Then, after they were ready, she brought them back to our house. We all enjoyed working with her, and we have had so many great compliments on our family pictures. I will definitely work with her again for our next set of pictures and I would highly recommend her.

I hired Malia to take photos of our newly landscaped backyard -- she offered a reasonable estimate for the job so I agreed and set a date. Although she sounded very pleasant and easy to work with over the phone, we ran into problems almost immediately. First, she was over an hour late to our appointment with no warning. I called her multiple times while waiting and received zero response until she finally showed up to my door with no explanation other than 'traffic'. With everything already set up for the photos and no other photographer I could call on that short notice, I had no choice but to let her go ahead and do the shoot (note that it was still for full price, no discount was offered for the huge inconvenience). It was fairly obvious she was rushing the shots because she immediately left for another job after she was done...I guess mine just wasn't important enough for her. It took her nearly twice as long as she promised to me to send the edited photos back, and the results are on par with other photographers I've used that charge considerably less. All in all, quite a disappointing experience. I won't be using her services ever again.

Becky shot our engagement photos last year and our wedding back in March and the photos are almost simply a BONUS to how much fun she was to hang out with! The shots she got + the edits she made are pure gold. Every single photo is a work of art.
