Why is no one ever at the register to greet customers? In 47 years of getting my clothing cleaned,…read moreI have never seen a more empty store front. Is there a single business out there that leaves their registers completely unmanned? The owner seems inattentive, unfocused, and bothered by customers being there. She seems to be focused on chatting away with the people behind the store front. Everyone who is at the registers tries to get you to leave quickly, but they take forever to even come to the front, if they even realize you are there at all. There are obviously more people in the back, because when there is a line, more people appear. Why do they wait for the store to be packed full to appear? Why are there two or three of us waiting for one person at the register, when there are clearly more people in the back, just chatting away? Why is it that not a single person employed at this store (with one exception) seems to know where anything is? Every time, whether it is my order or someone next to me, they have to check the camera for something. Is nobody keeping track of anything? The only good person there is the older tall gentleman with graying hair that shows up occasionally to the register. He seems to know where everything is and will always smile. Hopefully he is the owner's husband, because he seems to be the only one that can do anything.

But my best story of Linders excellence is a recent trip with a very expensive heavy sweater (Faherty brand) to alter it in a practical way for me. The sweater was special in that my son gave to me so I love it and wanted to wear it but it was an over the head not a cardigan. When I returned in 2 weeks the pants were done but they weren't ironed so I had to return the following day. I picked up the pants the following day and the work was done well. One of the pants still had a bit of a gap which I noticed when I took them home so had to return them and she took them back and fixed them. It was my first time using her and I understand that this can happen. All in all, she does good work and she is friendly. She is less expensive than another place that I used to go to in Elizabeth. They steamed the hem and completely ruined the pleating so the bottom of the dress is misshapen. Owner was dismissive and unapologetic when I expressed my disappointment that the bottom of the dress was ruined, offered zero solution or adjustments. Took it to another tailor who said I would need to bring it to a specialty shop that does pleat restoration to fix the issue - no time to do so before my brother's wedding.
