Back for dinner in the summer. Service and atmosphere still amazing and the food is still high…read morequality. I typically don't like sauce on my steak but the spicy and tart tomatillo sauce that is over the steak is fabulous. I like my salsa chunky but the rest of my family like the thin salsa. This is a quasi-chain but this location by far is the best!

As far as the location goes, I must say they have very limited parking spots(but we found a spot). Parking spots were tight. However, there is ample parking at the big box store across the street, and they are on a bus line. They are not near other restaurants but stand out based on the loud Mexican music and big sign that has a Mexican flag Over all the service was friendly, attentive, and quick(especially considering how packed it was) They give nachos on arrival, sort of like how restaurants normally give bread, which were okay , but the salsa was bland. The lime margarita was amazing. I got the beef enchiladas, which were tender and loaded with food didn't quite pack the punch I was hoping for. My mom and my wife got the nachos with chicken;they didn't like it. So I tried it to confirm the following: the nacho platter with chicken was bland, with very little crunch. It looked like it was sitting around for a while as far as value goes, my wife's beer was more expensive than my margarita, which is a plus if you are an alcohol drinker like me but not for a beer drinker, obviously. The portions on my plate were small, but there were so many different items on the plate that blended together fairly well that the small portions didn't matter too much. And lastly, the smell of the place was nonexistent, which is odd IMO for a small restaurant.

We were greeted very pleasantly. It wasn't too busy yet as it just turned to lunch the waitress gave some really great suggestions. Even though our interaction was within with one waitress, it still set the vibe that everybody in this establishment really enjoys working here. The atmosphere was very welcoming and definitely set the mood for all the margaritas and tacos that we could possibly want. The food itself very flavourful. Definitely a great hidden gem in Durham.

I visited this restaurant on a whim to satisfy a craving for Mexican food. Having never been here…read morebefore, I was delighted by the friendly staff with their attentive service. The portions were very large for the price, with half my chimichanga burrito taken home at the end of the meal. I enjoyed the sides, they were there but didn't really stand out. The in-house made nachos were deliciously crispy and salty, pairing well with the Queso, Guacamole and Pico De Gallo. The Burrito as I mentioned was huge and expertly fried. The Barbacoa inside was perfectly cooked, full of flavour. I wish my Margarita had more punch though, it was barely noticeable in the entire experience. What was noticeable was the decor which feels dated from 15 years ago. Overall, decent, I would return.

Found in a little food truck plaza off of Taunton Road. This non-descript 'plaza' of food trucks…read moreoffers varieties like Mexican, Jamaican, Greek and a chip stand. Decisions were tough given the variety of food. I've always been a fan of jerk and random places to eat so the math added up and next thing you know I'm writing this review. The perfect recipe for a jerk chicken dinner is rice and peas, coleslaw, and chicken. (Let's throw in the Ting as a freebie that doesn't require a review). A) Jerk Chicken. This chicken was obviously cooked over a long period of time given the tenderness of the meat (I did notice a smoker off to the side). Succulent, fall off the bone chicken with just the right amount of kick. I ordered the small and it was a great sized portion for a hungry 'boy'. Absolutely amazing tasting and textured chicken. B) Rice and peas - fragrant, high quality rice with delicious kidney beans. The gentleman working at this place offered oxtounge gravy which I gladly accepted. The sauce to rice ratio was perfect and the flavours were spot on. Honestly, Jamaican cuisine is one of my favourites and this was on par with a traditional home cooked meal found in the heart of Kingston. C) Coleslaw - just the perfect amount of creaminess to cabbage ratio. Fresh, crunchy and tasty! Honestly, after I finished my food, I had to tell the owner that this was the best jerk chicken I've ever had. Hands down. Enjoy :)

Today I called ahead and placed a pickup order for the 1LB of jerk chicken ($14) with extra jerk…read moresauce, and OH MY GOD it was amazing. Trying different Jerk Chicken places around the GTA and downtown is a long time hobby of mine, because it's one of the best foods to ever be invented, thank you so much Jamaica. First time I had it was in 2007 when I visited that great country on vacation and have been addicted ever since. Yes, it has bones in it, this is nothing new. The strange human at the bottom review complaining about hurting their teeth needs to check themselves and maybe get familiar with ALL JERK CHICKEN. Ignore that review. This Jerk ties for the #1 spot of EVERY JERK CHICKEN I'VE TRIED, which is a lot. The only one equal to this so far is "Jerk King" in Toronto on Bloor. Keep up the great work "Kings Finest Foods", solid recipe. See you again soon.
