As mentioned, pho is pho... spring rolls were ok since I didn't know what to expect from them. Second visit was for the 3 Sum rice platter. Most of it was good, but my first time as a Vietnamese person eating shredded lettuce in my rice and meat platter. The pork chop traditionally has always been thin and grilled to a light char, this thing was massively thick, luckily it was still juicy and flavorful! Overall, pretty good. Spring rolls on the other hand... needs more practice. One of the two had no vermecilli noodles and was just lettuce and shrimp, while the other had a pinch of noodles. A bit short on the ratio. Still have their banh mi to try, so we'll see how that goes.

Visited here for my brother-in-law's birthday on his request, and I'm glad we did, although I did have a preview of the place when the hubby brought home leftovers from his earlier visit so I knew we were in for something good. We arrived in time for an earlier dinner...probably around 4:30 or 5PM and our party of 7 (5 adults, 2 kids) were seated immediately. Huge fan of the complimentary hot tea, especially since the weather had taken a colder turn from prior days. The adults skewed to the Vietnamese side of the menu, but the kids thankfully were able to get sweet & sour chicken off of the Chinese half of the menu. The pork fresh spring roll was pretty good, I especially liked the sweet heat of the sauce that came with it. It was pretty good poured over the plain rice that came with our entrees. I will have to say that I prefer ones with shrimp, but my husband wanted to try pork and we were splitting an app. I ordered the crispy duck and the waiter gave me a heads up that it would be 25-30min to cook, which I was fine with since we were planning on sampling bites from everyone else's dishes anyway. I just told him not to wait to bring out the other dishes, bring the rest as they were ready. The better half ordered Vietnamese fried rice, with egg, chicken, shrimp & Vietnamese sausage. Our apps came out almost immediately, if they were pre-made they were still darn good! Then shortly after...and I mean really shortly thereafter, our entrees came out. I snagged a bite of the kid's sweet & sour chicken...definitely good! There were actual chunks of white meat chicken in a thin batter that were fried crisp. It definitely did not taste like something out of a bag. My husband's fried rice was really good. A slightly different take on a "standard" fried rice. The surprise of the dish?...the Vietnamese sausage. It was sliced into thin discs and fried crisp...lending a salty, but aslo almost sweet-ish? (maybe cinnamon?) flavor to the dish. And my duck...also really good. Typical presentation that I've had in other restaurants...take part of the bird, chop it into huge chunks with a cleaver (bones, skin & all!) and flash fry it. They give you a dish of lime quarters and this wonderful salt concoction. Squeeze the lime, dust it with salt & dig in. It was also good dipped in the hoisin sauce from the bottle conveniently on the table. Prices are reasonable and getting us in and out so quick (even with the extra time for the duck) especially with 2 young kids. We will definitely be back! read more

Is it expensive yes but it's got a variety and seems like healthy dishes. If you know Asian food and Korean it's great but I wanted to really try some food like some spicy fiery ramen with them little things with them little pink erasers in them ya know. The service was at an appropriate time for the restaurant being I guess somewhat full. I think I ordered a Japanese beer but when food is expensive I'm gonna order beer too cause Im not gonna eat costly food with no Beer. I like Sapporo but I can't remember if I had that or maybe similar. Not the best looking food. And no pink erasers and very basic wit noodles brown sauce and kinda yellowish egg. Beef was skimpy portion. As I write it I take off from 3 to 2 stars remember the egg and unappetizing presentation... again I wanna eat those things that look like pink erasers I'm curious and still wanna know what they taste like. The restaurant is Looking pretty plain on the outside. It was hard to understand the lady she had a heavy Asian accent but service is service man I am not gonna give an excellent review if I don't understand what I'm ordering. A lot of people kept saying Linh's has really good Vietnamese food so I thought I'd give it a try. Went there for lunch on a Tuesday. Food: Linh's menu has a Vietnamese and Chinese section. Their menu didn't really have that much variety for the vietnamese food. Typically, there would be 20 items just under pho (with different meats and other add ons) but there was only three different pho here. Ended up ordering pho with beef (#1). It wasn't the best ever, but it wasn't bad either. I feel like you can't really go bad with making pho -- it's just the broth and meat. Service: Was seated right away but it took about 20 min for them to get our orders down. It was somewhat packed, but it definitely shouldn't have taken them that long to assist us and give us water. It was just okay viet food. I guess there isn't much to compare it to in the Dayton area but if you're craving some pho this will do. read more

Linh's bistro offers authentic Vietnamese cuisine and this place can be a very busy place but the people here work like magic. Accommodated me through and through. I had a Hu Tieu Xao Thap Cam Sate and it was superb! It's a Sate Chicken, Shrimp & Beef Rice Noodles. It's a big serving hence the price of 12$. But it's really packed and got lots of ingredients in it. It's a perfect place to enjoy having a balanced meal of meat and vegetables. Plus their sauces are all very yummy. We had rolls and it was delicious too. I had a company of 5 people so we're seated at a large table and each of us ordered something different but the moment the foods were placed on the table everything looked good. Linh's has relocated to a bigger location, right up the road in the Page Manor Shopping Center next to the Manor Wine Store. The food is so good that the former location was too small to handle the crowds, especially during lunch which is was not uncommon to see a line out the door. It's basic Vietnamese, not some fancy gourmet Vietnamese that those visitors from LA seem to look for. The wait staff is half family/half friends and they all are nice even if they don't smile. The server's don't seem like they enjoy working, which is okay (because who actually likes working?), but it's just very unwelcoming. The portions are good however! When we arrived at 6:50, we couldn't believe what we saw. The restaurant was absolutely packed with people sitting and standing wall-to-wall, all waiting on takeout orders. The line went straight to the door. I assumed the line was for placing orders, so I tried to pick up my prepaid order--only to be snapped at by multiple very frustrated customers who told me they were all waiting on their orders too. So we went to the very back of the line. What followed was surreal. The "system," if you can call it that, was this: someone would walk up, give their name, the worker would disappear into the back, and then reappear some random amount of time later--sometimes 10... sometimes 20 minutes--with food. There were long stretches where no one was even at the counter. As we waited, we talked to people who had been sitting there for over two hours for orders they were originally told would take 10-15 minutes. I thought they were insane for staying. Spoiler alert: I became one of them. One woman had been there two and a half hours waiting on a $100+ order for her family's Christmas Eve dinner (like us). When she finally asked again, the employee told her they didn't even have her order eventhough she checked in multiple times and was told it was being fixed. She walked out crying. What bothered me most was the complete lack of care. No apology. No concern. Nothing. At one point, another worker came out, looked at a restaurant full of exhausted people, and actually laughed. Meanwhile, they continued taking new online and phone orders. Absolute insanity. When it was finally our turn, they didn't have our order either. The employee walked away, came back much later, asked for my name again, and started the whole process over. It honestly felt like a bad SNL skit. Eventually she checked the tablet and realized she hadn't been looking at any online orders. By then it was after 8:15 PM. Our entire Christmas Eve evening was gone. When we finally received our food, we politely asked if there would be any kind of discount. The employee laughed, shook her head no, and said nothing else. No apology. No acknowledgment. Nothing. No one was rude to the staff. No one was yelling. People were incredibly patient because it was Christmas Eve. And that somehow made it worse. The way customers were treated was unbelievably dismissive and careless. We eventually got to sit down to eat as a family a little before 9:00PM If this is how they handle their business--and their customers--on a night that actually matters, then I'm happy to return the favor and never set foot in this establishment again.
