    Dine-in "delivery fee" charge.
    Apollo D.

Great food. Great service. Good ambiance. Ridiculous and unnecessary "delivery fee" added to my bill and I dined there! The $0.48 charge is so petty that I give them a one star. The amount isn't the issue, it's the fact there is an add on to have the server bring my food to me. I'll get up myself and grab it next time. Maybe they charged the delivery fee because I are on their patio. I have no idea. Regardless, I left a 28% tip ($5). It's not the servers' fault the owner is petty.

    Strawberry mimosa... amazeballs

Super tasty veggie hash! Those sweet potatoes, though... man, oh man. And I swear I wasn't gonna start drinking at church-time Sunday morning, but the bartender brought that strawberry mimosa over by accident, and I just had to follow up on that... But really, the pancakes were too DIE for. Just the right texture--not too fluffy and thick, perfectly dense, like those sour-cream recipes. And I'm pretty sure that was legit maple syrup too. Serious point of contention though, it totally didn't live up to my expectations for 10am on Sunday... we were seated as soon as we walked in the door! I'm sure you're thinking "why is that contentious, though, wendy?" Well, I TOTALLY missed the specials board that advertised some amazing-sounding pumpkin french toast. I only saw it on my way out. WTH?? Links, you're on my sh*t list now... we'll, till I end up back in Iowa and know better to study the specials board first next time. I'd recommend you go, but I'm kinda scared I'll never get immediately seated at 10am again.

Xavier is 11, more than capable to write a review. This one is even funnier cause he's older. "Everything was home made. I don't know dad, can't I just rate it without saying anything? Are you still going to actually write everything I say. You can't do this to me, I don't know what to say. " Dad liked the food. The sauce was very good, and the dry aged 2 year old cheese was unique.

The breakfast here is fantastic and not just the usual fare. Fresh, local and different than most places. They're passionate about what gets served and it shows. Some of the best breakfast I've had in the Quad Cities.

Caesar salad, but they forgot the bacon. It needed the salt. Very bland.

Husband brought home a Caesar salad. It had the blueprint of a good salad, but they didn't include the bacon that it's described as having. Therefore the salad was bland because there was no salt. Chicken was tender.

My favorite thing to do when trying a new restaurant is to order a few items to share with the family. That way, we can taste a little bit of everything to gauge how much we like the food. We ordered the Links Breakfast Sandwich, Sourdough Waffle, Links Smash Burger, and the Fried Chicken Sandwich. My husband also ordered a mocha and I tried the Strawberry Açai refresher. We opted for carry out. The order was ready in 30 minutes and still hot when we got home to eat. The mocha was gone before even making it home. The refresher was just that, refreshing and not too sweet. The Links Breakfast Sandwich: it's customizable. We opted for sourdough bread, scrambled egg, bacon and cheddar cheese. There was a hint of spicy that added an unexpected surprise to each bite. Both my 7 and 9 year old loved it so it wasn't too spicy. I'd love to try it with a sunny side up egg - I mean, come on, that runny yoke with the toasted sourdough and hint of spice. Yes, please. The Sourdough Waffle: absolute perfection. Links Smash Burger: cooked perfectly, juicy and flavorful. Quality meat and garden fresh tomatoes. The half sour pickles were the cherry on the sundae. The Fried Chicken Sandwich: the pièce de résistance! Absolutely amazing. Chef James used hand breaded juicy chicken thighs, topped with those glorious half sour pickles and some fancy looking micro greens. It truly was a work of art. My daughter even tried mooching our portion for herself. I'd love to see a chef's special combining the chicken thighs and sourdough waffle *hint hint* Pricing is more than reasonable when you consider that everything is freshly prepared and locally sourced. We will definitely be back in the near future.

I stopped by Links this morning. It is in a newer little business area between a housing development and a Big Box District. The place is really cute and my breakfast sandwich was delicious, fresh and hot. I noticed they have espresso's also! I say go give your locals some money and stop in. Service was great too!! I do agree a little expensive! But go enjoy!!!

Bananas Foster pancakes and veggie root hash
    Kayla K.

NEW FAV QC BREAKFAST PLACE!!! My mom and I split the root veggie hash and the bananas foster pancakes - both were delectable! Highly recommend the pancakes if you have a sweet tooth. I'm already craving another stack Great, fresh ingredients too! The only thing we didn't like was how oily the hash was. We both thought it would still be top notch with about half the oil. Still super yummy though!

There are many options to choose from. I had the Bock and Cheese pasta, while my partner enjoyed the Millionaire Bacon Burger. Both dishes were phenomenal. The only minor issue was that the burger, ordered medium well, was served medium rare. No big deal. The restaurant was being decorated for the holiday season, which added a fun touch! The space is open and airy, ensuring you don't feel crowded, and it's very clean. The beautiful modern-industrial style is perfect for hosting events. Looking forward to our next meal with you Granite City! Thanks for spicing up our Sunday!

Our waitress came over in good time and took a drink order which showed up in very good time. I also asked a menu question which she got the answer to right away. As another reviewer stated it is *cold* in there! I keep a sweater in my bag for this purpose but still, I was cold. 86 outside, 66 inside (at a guess of course). They may keep the air cold to cool down that hot open kitchen. Bring a jacket or sweater. Our food came out in good time. Portions were generous. Plenty of cheese on my burger. I can understand how another reviewer mentioned the food is salty. The burger is mixed w/a GC spice blend that does seem heavy on the salt. At first it was fine, but I couldn't finish my burger. After a while the taste just stuck in my throat and was too much. May want to pull back a bit on the amount of spice blend being added. The crinkle fries were really good. Nice and crispy. My dining comlanion got the buffalo chicken wrap. Plenty of meat, spicy sauce and veg in this wrap. Trouble is the wrap barely holds the filling in and as the sauce makes the wrap wet, it inevitably fell apart. It is very tasty though, and he happily ate it with a knife and fork. Maybe a bigger wrap is available? 'Cause that portion size is excellent. Staff do seem to congregate in the kitchen area with the expediter. As the dining room got busier, we naturally saw less of our waitress but she did check in a few times and was sure to keep the water glass full and offer drink refills. The ladies room really needs a visual make over and deep clean. It does have a bit of a swampy smell. A machine by the sink, that I believe is a dehumidifier, had a light on it blinking "empty". So the tank was full of water? If it had been running, that may have helped with the smell but I don't know. It wasn't offensive, just a humid bathroom smell. The beer is good, as one would hope from a brewery. They have a selection from Irish Red to pilsners. The menu says to ask about sours. The interior is comfortable, casual with a mix of booths and tables. A couple of the booth seats are in serious disrepair (torn/split material exposing the foam cushion) and need to be fixed. A bar with high top tables is on the other side of the hostess stand keeping the areas seperate. A glass wall seperates you from both the brewing tanks on one wall and the kitchen on another wall. Restrooms by kitchen. Plenty of parking in their private lot. Those entry doors (two sets) are *heavy!

It was our first visit so we weren't sure what to expect. I now know you can expect: friendly service, reasonable prices, and good food. When you walk in the front door it is a little confusing. There is a gift shop, and the restaurant is past the gift shop; but the hostess stand is in the gift shop. You also pay your dinning bill at the gift shop counter. The gift shop got very congested, but it was not a big deal and won't impact my rating. We started with a cup of French Onion Soup. It was very good, they top it with some thin french fried onions which was a nice twist. It has been awhile since I've been in Iowa and I was craving a breaded pork tenderloin sandwich. The sandwich was good but not up to Iowa standards. I'm accustomed to a breaded pork tenderloin that is pounded nice and thin and is way bigger than the bun. This was not pounded thin. It was a thick cut of meat. But, I repeat it was good. My fries were delicious. My wife had the Classic Burger and it was excellent. She said her sweet potato fries were good (I did not try them). Service is friendly, and prices are reasonable. One word of caution: If you are on a road-trip and hoping for a quick stop (as we were) be warned it won't be quick. Everything is made from scratch, which is great, but it definitely takes longer. If you are in Davenport and looking for good food at reasonable prices you might want to stop by The Machine Shed.
