We have been spending the last 4 weekends in Rockford due to family reunions and after trying some of the other restaurants, we finally made it to Lino's which came highly recommended for Gnocchis, one of my favorite Italian dishes. As we walked into the restaurant I noticed all the beautiful Italian style decorations, an ample lobby with a fountain and as we were being taken to our seats we noticed a table inside of a Pisa tower prop that was very cool. We were having a great time relaxing and I had decided not to take pictures of the food during dinner. Our waitress seemed busy and came to tell us she would be with us soon. From the beginning to the end she was kind and attentive. We ordered bottled water and a Margarita pizza for everyone. As it arrived we all enjoyed it very much! My husband asked for chicken and I requested gnocchis with Alfredo sauce and a piece of added salmon. I was excited. I love Gnocchis. My grandmother used to make them from scratch growing up. Included salads came in first. They contained sausage which I don't eat but my husband was looking at my plate like a hawk so I knew the salad would have a home. Suddenly, the young waitress accidentally dropped one of the water bottles ( closed) on me and the salad, and she was feeling very bad. I immediately told her that everything was perfectly ok and not to stress but I could see that didn't calm her. Next, came our dishes brought directly by the chef, Jimmy. Apologizing for taking too long on bringing our plates and for everything else. We told him that we were happy and enjoying dinner. My husband said his chicken was great and I can happily tell you that my Gnocchis were spectacular! They were perfectly cooked to my liking. Yum! I ordered a big plate so I took the left over to go, which I kept picking on until 1 am ! We then asked for desserts, they didn't have much of a variety but Jimmy himself came back with a complete cake and ice cream for us to try. We all loved it and took what was left to go as well! When we asked for the check, the waitress told us that the meal was fully complimentary. My husband and I looked at each other and we agreed that we couldn't accept it. The dinner was amazing! A lady manager came in and told us that the owner insisted and that she couldn't do anything. We then found out that Jimmy, the chef who brought us our food is the owner. We were extremely surprised by the gesture because we truly felt there was nothing wrong to the level of getting the dinner for free! The little things can happen to anyone. We left a good tip for our waitress, thanked the lady manager very much and let her know how grateful we were. She said that Jimmy didn't feel our experience was up to his standards and he always wants to make sure his guests leave completely satisfied. We can assure you we were completely satisfied Jimmy! Passing through Rockford and stopped in at Lino's Italian restaurant. WOW! Very nice experience. The food was quality, the ambiance with the bonus of the quintet playing beautiful music on the courtyard. Our server Natalyia was pleasant and delivered excellent service. I've been going to Lino's for 45+ years. It's a nice place to go to celebrate something. Prices are a little high but the food is good. They have a great pizza deal you can get for takeout (large pizza, special salad for 2 and a 2 liter of soda). Tip: order the dressing on the side so it isn't soggy! You just pull up to the to go lanes and they bring it out. You don't even leave your car! The pizza is good and the cheese is very distinctive. I can pick out a Lino's pizza blindfolded just on how the cheese tastes. The lasagna is another thing they are known for. read more

Me and my husband and my kids went limos pizza on rockford last night for my daughters 10th birthday. We called ahead asked for the special large pizza with salad and 2 liter. We paid got our food,we asked if they had any 2 liters cold,no but they had a 6 pack of rootbeer in the fridge and she brought that to us which was amazing! Then we asked about plates they didn't have any but they ripped the top if the go boxes and we were very happy with it,it worked just as well! She brought extra napkins and forks just incase. I just wanna take the time out to say, Thank you "Wendy" when I pulled up to pay, before picking my pizza up i was told there was no paper plates, no cups. I was wow ok, so " WENDY" went out her way t bring me a 6pack of mug root-beef, and somehow managed to get us plates! Lino's is always good. So many memories! We've been coming to Lino's since we moved here in the late 70's. I think the best item is the family salad, with the egg, the sausage...all of it is so good. I need to be able to give more stars! This is tied for best Italian food in Rockford in my opinion. The decor is very nice. They have a cute little fountain in the front entryway. All the servers wear the same black dress so every thing is cohesive. Let's talk food. The special salad is delish. It's a lettuce mix with Italian sausage slices, cherry tomatoes, and hard boiled eggs all tossed in their house dressing. A must with any entree you get here. The pizza is so cheesy when you pull it apart it actually looks the commercials on tv. I always get pepperoni and Italian sausage. The pizza is always cut in squares which I absolutely love (this might just be a Rockford thing lol) I got the lasagna this last time and it is literally melt in your mouth. There is no meat in the lasagna itself, but there is meat in the sauce. If you can only make one pizza stop in Rockford, make it Linos. You won't regret it! read more

Always impressed with their pizza, fresh ingredients, service and staff! When my family all gets together and comes back into town to visit my parents who live in Rockford. We always liked to do a big dinner at Lino's prior to Covid. Since we have supported this deserving business by ordering takeout every visit or chance we get. Hoping soon we will be ready for an indoor sit down meal. Everytime we order it is always 100% correct. Everytime our order is hot and fresh! Everytime we get fast and accurate customer service when we arrive to pick our food up. I would honestly say the amount of business they do is impressive. We are happy to support this local business and support Rockford. Lino's is definitely a local pizza and Italian restaurant. The signage and building, both exterior and interior, give you the feel of traditional pizza/Italian decor. I sat in the bar area and Natalie was my server. I ordered the early bird special of Veal Parmigiana. My side was spaghetti with a small loaf of bread. The veal was tender and tasty. The spaghetti was rather plain, but I kicked it up a notch with some red chili flakes. The bread was warm and melted the butter nicely. Overall a good Italian meal. I noticed a back entrance where you pick up pizzas and to-go orders. I will probably come back to try their pizzas. My ticket before tip was $12.73, not bad for a good meal. read more

Hands down my favorite Rockford pizza. I love everything about it: seasoning is perfect, the semi-local Amish made cheese is to die for, and the crust is beyond perfect...not thick, but not cracker thin, and with a wonderful crunch. A perfect pie in my opinion! The ambiance is fun. The place is big, but has a cozy feel. The interior is done up to make you think you're eating on the streets of Italy. A hit with the kids! Bonus points? The owner/chef checked in with all of the tables twice while we were there, wanting to ensure everything was going well for the guests. Double bonus points? For all of us who miss The Como Inn previously located in Chicago. This place is the resurrection of Como. Outside you would never think that inside is an exact replica of the famous Como Inn. Now no matter how cool the interior is, does it have Great Italian food ???? Unbelievable Great Food. Real Italian Food. We were in town for Grand Kid Hockey game. I asked the concession gal at the hockey rink (River View Ice House) Where can we get some great food. She said Lino's. This person was so nice and a teacher working a second job. Growing up, Fridays were spent enjoying fish fry at Lino's. Now 20 years later it was special to return on a recent trip home with my own kids. We visited on a weeknight and even had the pleasure of sitting in the Leaning Tower. Food: Just as good as I remember. We had a variety of pasta, Italian salads, bread and scoops of spumoni for dessert. Everything was hot and fresh. Service: Our server was sweet, patient (the littles were in rare form) and attentive. What more can you ask for? Ambience: What can I say? I love being met by the fountain in the lobby, the dimly lit dining rooms, and a great mix of people young and old. Lino's has classic old world Italy decor...you can even eat in a leaning tower of Pisa! The food is classic Italian ristorante fare. Very good and reasonably priced. My favorite was the salad which is served family style and comes with sliced Italian sausage. I would have never believed I'd love it in so much in a salad, but holy yum. Just attended a wedding, hosted by my cousin's family, catered by Lino's. It was incredibly delicious food and Jordan went above and beyond. The salad and fettuccini were so good! I am an equal opportunity pizza lover, but something about the cheese pizza really stood out. Jordan explained how they get the cheese and that it was a blend. Then, he graciously obtained a to-go box for me. I had to work the following day and it was one of the first times I was excited to go just to be able to have Lino's for lunch. What a great place! This is a Rockford institution- have eaten there for decades. The pizza is amazing, and the other entrees are also very good. I've never had a meal there that has been anything but high quality, and in a setting that is enchanting with the private 'villas', murals, and overall atmosphere.
