Purchased groceries and beef brisket which is available on Friday and Saturday. Service was good, cashiers were quick and the food was good.

It's a great little grocery store with lots of local individuals that call this little town home . It's small and sleepy, and small . But this local neighborhood market has all that they need . It's not a Walmart or Kroger, but it's probably better . The neighborhood store where everyone knows your name . And all can keep a secret! Shhhh, this is not a secret . If you're in the area get your local supplies for the journey ahead to wherever your destination takes you . As we walked around the store we needed road snacks. We drifted to the bakery area where they had some sort of apple pastry. It had to come along for the trip . We did notice awards to the baking practices to those that cook for the community. Kudos . And those apple pastries were amazing. We are off to the races and have been able to spread the secret joys of this local market to you all . Stop in next time your in t

I am not an employee of Walmart, I do not get an employee discount. So my question to you is why do I shop there if I do the work and take others jobs? I don't want to ring up my groceries, don't want to bag them, get checked as I leave your store. I don't mind people who are other than US citizens HOWEVER I expect people who can speak English when I ask a question in your store. If you want US dollars then pay English speaking people who can give "CUSTOMER SERVICE " and represent your store. I have never seen your groceries go down in price ever, always up!

I have held off on making a review until now because I like to ensure before I obliterate somebody…read morepublicly, that my findings are accurate and true. Let me first start by relaying an experience I had at this location with my elderly mom in April of 2025. We were in the shoe department and my mom suddenly lost her balance and fell. She was unable to stop herself and violently cracked her head open on the concrete floor. I rushed over to her to provide assistance and began screaming for help. One associate showed up and shortly after, someone of a manager looking status showed up with an iPad and instantly asked me to start filling out an accident report. I asked her if she was crazy because clearly my mom needed assistance and I would like them to call 911. She persisted with the request for the accident report, so annoyed, I began to fill it out on her iPad while I sat behind my mom trying to hold her up because she looked like she was going to pass out. She was bleeding from the head. The other associate brought a motorized cart and helped me get her into the cart. Because nobody bothered to call Emergency Services even after I requested it two separate times, I drove her to the emergency room myself. I would say that this probably wasted about 20 minutes of valuable time and I mentioned that because my mom is still feeling the effects of her fall 8 months later. When I reached out to Walmart corporate, they were unwilling to do anything. I didn't even receive what I would consider to be well wishes for recovery. I tell the story now because something very similar happened to another individual at the same location yesterday. She was also elderly and fell and broke her clavicle. Supposedly, nobody came to help her as well and she ended up having to take her own groceries out to her car. We have also witnessed another incident where an elderly woman fell just outside the store in the crosswalk of the parking lot. People were crowded around her and thankfully somebody called emergency services, but in the meantime, there was not one single Walmart badge to be found. This location, if you are not familiar with it, is located in a predominantly retirement community. It is an unfortunate fact that we encounter elderly individuals that fall relatively frequently in this community. It is absolutely abhorrent and disgusting that a large retailer like Walmart cannot provide its customers with at least somewhat respectable assistance. I don't know if this is just an issue locally on the individuals that this location is hiring as employees or if this is a company-wide deficiency, but regardless, it is unacceptable. I am 47 years old and it is wildly depressing to consider the future of my husband and I when we can see now that compassion and basic human decency isn't evident. This location needs to do much, much better... otherwise, I suspect they will have a sizeable lawsuit in their future.

Hoping to share the benefits of fresh locally grown produce with my mom, who still lives in Vegas, I searched the internet (thanks, Yelp forums!) and was pleasantly surprised to discover a family-owned farm in Moapa which offered that and more. Since 2010, my mom has been a Meadow Valley shareholder. The shares are split into seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter, and range from 8 to 14 weeks long. When we first signed up, a weekly box per season was the only option, but now they offer a Half Share (every other week), and a choice between a Standard Share (the vegetables in your basket are preselected) or a Premium Share (customize your basket online the previous week). You can pick up your basket directly from the farm, but they will also deliver to the Las Vegas, Henderson, and Mesquite areas for a small fee. Their prices are incredibly reasonable and the product far surpasses what you can get from a grocery store. Obviously, the harvest varies by season. Still, after two years, my mom never fails to comment about how the fresh carrots or kale or beets or squash or (feel free to substitute your pick of produce here) are bursting with flavor. I never would have imagined that such an abundance of greens, veggies, and fruit could come from Moapa. Not only that, but they offer an Egg Share option, and sometimes have honey or bread. It's not uncommon for herbs or flowers to pop up, either. I have to make special note about the quality of customer service offered by the owners, Lyndy and Bryce. My mom isn't internet-savvy, so I handle everything from my end, and how I "signed" her up to be a shareholder was complicated because of the circumstances. It didn't show from their end, though; they were happy to accomodate us and have always been quick with responding via e-mail. They even called her to make sure her first delivery was on par. My mom is picky and unafraid to be vocal about it, but Meadow Valley has far surpassed both her and my expectations. I'm happy to support both their business and their principles. In the spirit of "community", they even support other local CSAs -- trust me, Las Vegans, if you haven't experienced what's akin to a farmer's market delivered to your door, you don't know what you're missing out on. Anyone looking for fresh, local, quality produce in the LV metro area should absolutely give Meadow Valley a try. Yes, you can join a CSA even if you live in a desert!

At 90,0000 square feet, the Henderson Winco has been winning at pricing and selection since they opened on March 4, 2012. In contrast to local supermarket chains including Walmart Neighborhood Market, Albertson's, and Smith's; Winco does not saturate the market. In Las Vegas there are currently only three WinCo's. With that being the case, I don't visit as much as I would like to. I am impressed by the prices. WinCo's strategy is to keep costs down by passing over advertising and not accepting credit cards to avoid the merchant processing fees. Additionally there is no pharmacy which keeps the overhead down. I feel that the lack of advertising makes Winco unique and creates this mystique. Without advertising telling me what to think about the business, my mind has its own marketing about the supermarket. It kind of reminds me of a 1970s supermarket. The exterior and logo remind me of the long defunct Woolco Department Store. It is a clean brightly lit store with what I consider a modernized version of a 1970s store. I say this in a good way. When I enter the store through The Wall of Savings I am greeted with a brightly lit and clean store surrounded by deals. It is the antithesis of a dingy and cluttered discount supermarket. Throughout the store the shopping experience is great. In the heart of the store, the top shelf is roughly equivalent to the top of my head. This alleviates the situation of having to struggle to reach for something on the top shelf. From shopping here, I noticed something missing in action. That is lock up cases. I did not see one lock up case. That includes health and beauty aids. I am impressed with their selection. They carry brands that I have not seen at other local supermarkets. This includes Shasta soda. My Winco tradition has been to pay 50 cents for a can of Shasta soda at the vestibule. My go-to item at Winco has been the Tastee Choice frozen shrimp dinners. They are delicious , filling, and cost around $4. Throughout the outstanding selection permeates through the fresh areas, the bulk candy, bakery, and aisles throughout the store. The one thing that Winco can improve on is the check out process. It is normal to only have a few lanes open at a time. There could be a wait. To the left of the full-serve checkouts there are a few self checkout terminals. Additionally, although I don't mind, customers have to bag their own orders. As stated earlier, to pass down the savings, Winco does not accept credit cards. The way I see it, Winco means "Winning." When it comes to finding a great selection and prices, I win when I shop at Winco.
