Excellent Doctor!! We were referred to him by another Doctor. My husband had a corneal abrasion and he was extremely competent and caring.

Congratulations to Dr. Tim Trinh and his caring staff as they celebrated their 15th business…read moreanniversary this month! All patients were invited to join their party featuring food, drinks, prizes and gifts, and warm hospitality. A fun time was had by all. Dr. Tim's generosity was so kind. I am now well-stocked with products to help soothe my dry eyes for many months! Everyone who attended the event received a raffle ticket and great prizes were awarded. They also gave welcome bags of eye-care goodies just for attending. The food offerings were anchored by the taco guys (I didn't catch their actual business name). They had a whole spread of condiments to go along with the tacos made to order. There were also sweet treats and pizza. A party feast! This is an eye care practice with heart, and lots of current technology, too. I'm so happy to witness their success and be a recipient of their expertise. Their anniversary milestone is worthy of celebration. Thank you, Dr. Tim, for including us!

Dear TO, NP and Westlake residents, You don't know how lucky…read moreyou are to have Dr. Zabaleta. I used to call TO my home town until employment changes forced me to move to Orange County in 2016. At about the same time, my vision was progressively getting worse until I could not improve it by wearing glasses anymore. My optometrist recommended fitting Scleral contact lenses since I have Keratoconus on my left eye and a cornea transplant on my right eye. I went through 3 fittings during the first year. Then 2 more during the second year. But still the lenses did not seem to fit well, I could not wear them more than 6 hours per day or I would get blood shots in my eyes after I take them off. I was almost ready to give up on Scleral lenses, when my Ophthalmologist recommended that I try Ketchum University Eye Center. Fortunately, I became a patient of Dr. Zabaleta when she did her residency at Ketchum University. Dr. Z took a lot of measurements and pictures using the specialized machines. She explained that since I have a cornea transplant on my right eye, I would need the largest Scleral lenses in order for them not to sit on the transplanted cornea. After just 2 fittings, I am able to see 20/20 and wear the Scleral contacts for as long as I want to because they are so comfortable. I was sad and a bit discouraged when I heard Dr. Z was ending her residency and planning to move on with her career. But 3 years later, I am still using the same prescription and Scleral lenses spec. without any issues. I am so grateful for the fitting that Dr. Z did for me that I decided to do a search; lo and behold, Dr. Z ended up in Thousand Oaks. How I wish I could move back to be her patient again. So if you are doing your research, know that you will be in the capable care of Dr. Zabaleta. From your first appointment you will feel welcomed as part of her family that she takes care with lots of compassion and patience. She will make sure you understand the course of treatment that she is recommending for you and she will do her best to ensure the best outcome for you. Sincerely, H M.

So I went back to purchase my new lenses for reading and distance. I loved working with Noah who actually just started to work there and it was his first day!! He was very knowledgeable, knew all the products and he was very courteous and friendly. Also, the doctor double checked my eye site to make sure the measurements are correct on the papers I brought. I really appreciated what he did for me. It show how much he cares about his clients! I am so glad I found his business. I am recommending them wholeheartedly. Enjoy being treated the way you deserve! Blessings, Glyol

From the first phone call the front desk ladies was nice Over the phone when I told him about my situation they immediately found time for The doctor to see me. He took care of my burn and was kind enough to see me the following day on Christmas Day. Long story short he did a full exam on my eyes and when I got back for a check up he examined my vision and offered direction I didn't thought of with my vision options. He got me off my reading glasses and that blow my mind how come no one offered this option. My recommendation do not go to no one else when you need help with your vision !!

Had an extraordinary and life changing experience at DLV vision, with Dr. Dougherty and the ENTIRE…read moreTEAM. A good friend recommended DLV and so I made an appointment and went to see if they could persuade me to hand over my vision to them, I was very skeptical because my vision was bad but not bad enough to be desperate for lasik. So anything less than an excellent result would have been a problem for me. From intake, to the initial exams, to the amazing closer/administrator Diana, the process was INSANELY human and warm and detailed. I saw so many specialists (surgeon, ophthalmology, optometry, lenses, etc) They made me feel completely in control, spent hours with me, gave me all the options and explanations I needed to feel fully comfortable moving forward. They even pushed forward my secondary screening to the same day so I could schedule the surgery for the soonest possible date. In the end my vision is exactly what was promised if not better. LASIK is not a cure all for 20/20 near and far, it has trade-offs, and Dr Dougherty explained all of these perfectly and exactly what he said would happen came true. I chose monovision to try and reduce the chances of or delay needing reading glasses. The monovision KICKS ASS. I can see my phone close up and perfect 10/20 far vision at the same time! Anyways, highly recommend. Top notch people, top notch process. Thank you DLV!

PLEASE DO NOT GET LASIK AT THIS OFFICE (or any office). They killed my best friend…read more My best friend, Dax Wellington Grove, was a patient at DLV Vision. He suffered debilitating complications from a botched LASIK procedure at DLV Vision. When the resulting chronic eye pain became unbearable, he ultimately took his own life last week. During the 12 months leading up to his death, Dax sought treatment from multiple major academic medical centers, underwent extensive testing, and spent well over $300,000 pursuing answers and trying to reclaim the life he once had. It never came back. The man I knew before that surgery was adventurous, brilliant, funny, fiercely loyal, and the kind of friend who would spend hours helping someone else through their darkest moments. The man who hung himself last week was living with severe chronic ocular surface disease, neuropathic eye pain, neurotrophic keratitis, aqueous-deficient dry eye disease, meibomian gland dysfunction, photophobia, and corneal nerve complications that he associated with his LASIK procedure. My friend was not a statistic. He was someone's son. Someone's brother. He was one of the best friends I've ever had. I wish more than anything that he were still here. I hope no one else ever has to stand where I am standing today. Over the last week, I've had to grapple with a realization that has haunted me more than anything else: I had no idea how much he was suffering. I loved him, but I didn't understand the extent of what he was carrying. I cannot bring Dax back. What I can do is BEG anyone considering this risky surgery to educate themselves BEFORE making an irreversible decision. Don't just read about success rates. Learn about chronic neuropathic eye pain. Learn about severe ocular surface disease. Learn about corneal nerve injury. Learn what life can look like for the small percentage of people whose complications become permanent. I hope no other family or group of friends has to experience the loss that ours has.

circa 2007 So, I went a year later, for my annual checkup -…read moreand found that my prescription hadn't changed the slightest bit in a year. This is the first time in the 12 years that I've been wearing contacts that this has happened. This alone speaks multitudes for the exactness of the prescription that Dr. Henteleff found last year - which suited my eyes so well throughout the year. I love his optometrist! --- circa 2006 My wife, the Cal alumna, goes to Steven Henteleff to have her eyes checked, and thus I too (despite being a strong USC supporter) went to Dr. Henteleff to have my annual eye checkup. So what distinguishes Steven Henteleff are the following two things (which is why I knew he deserved a 5/5 rating): Reason #1 - In the 10+ years that I have been using contact lenses, no optometrist has ever done a glaucoma test (where they put some solution in your eye to dilate them), AND THEN followed it up with a 2nd solution to reverse the dilatory effects. This means that instead of me having to wear goofy fake plastic goggles for 5-6 hours, I only had to wear them for a little over an hour. I asked if this was a new innovation (since I'd never had ANY optometrist do that for me), and he said no - he's been doing this for 5+ years after he received some good feedback from some patients; he says most optometrists don't do this because they don't care about their patients' comfort as much. Clearly Steven does. Reason #2 - Chain stores usually delegate one of the tests to a technician that uses a machine that blows air into your eye, which is a very uncomfortable experience (at least for me). Steven uses another more advanced machine that does NOT blow air into your eye, and he said it also provides better readings. That makes sense. If I'm not covering from fear of a gush of air blowing into my eye, I'd be so much more relaxed w/ the optometrist doing a test - that would lead to better readings. While these may seem trivial - these are indicative of why I am SO impressed by Steven - and additionally he has a wonderful sense of humor - which is always a huge benefit. I'm glad I listened to my wife's recommendation.
