Great place to stop for a beer. 16 Michigan crafts on tap. Kind of a cool space, too, all logs…read moreinside and out, befitting the quasi-up north vibe of Linwood. Was less impressed with my meal. I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich. Grilled breast topped with Frank's hot sauce on a pretzel bun. Proabably should have shelled out a buck to top it with bleu cheese, or at least some swiss. I got onion rings on the side ($2 upcharge--very reasonable compared to many restaurants), and they were very good. Crispy but not overcooked, not so heavily battered that the onion disappeared. The breast on the sandwich was huge--would make two meals for most people. And while I appreciate the generosity, a hunk of meat that large takes away from the pleasure of the meal. I don't enjoy fighting to keep the meat between the pieces of the bun between each bite, The breast and the bun were a bit dry. That said, the service as impeccable. Two people were working the bar, where I sat, and they regularly checked in to see if I needed anything, and we discussed the beers on offer a bit. I probably shouldn't write the place off based on a single sandwich. The Cabin is just interesting enough that I will probably stop back.

The crust was overdone and it was really oily. Not a lot of great flavor either. Got an order of the wings and they were way overcooked with absolutely no seasoning. So they were very disappointing too. What saved the day was the walleye and fries. The fries were excellent, and the walleye was good. It wasn't seasoned at all, but tasted a lot better once I put some salt and pepper on it. Had a nice light breading on it but again, no seasoning, so it really required some pretty heavy salt and pepper. So I'm just kind of disappointed that the star of the show was the french fries Service was very friendly and prompt. The place looks a little rundown and doesn't really have much of an atmosphere. Linwood is supposed to be well known for walleye fishing, so they could've decorated the place along those lines and had a theme. Look like they had a decent selection of good quality liquor. Decent name brands. I'm gonna give it a three star, but part of me feels like that's a little bit of a stretch

What is pure michigan? The guy rocking out to journey in his '87 camaro with his mullet flappin' in the wind. This is the place where that guy goes with all of his equally awesomely pure michiganly friends. Although I could be mistaken (as I was midway through the pure michigan gauntlet), My Brother's Bar sits aside a highway in the middle of nowhere. You know you're there if you notice one of the exterior walls is vacant of all siding (it makes a great photo backdrop, or better yet, take home a piece of the exposed insulation or plywood as a souvineer! ). Once you've opened the front door, you'll be immediiately greeted by a 75 yr old bartender and 2-3 salty looking retired autoworkers with whom you've certainly interrupted some sort of half-contrived plot to start their own militia. You're best bet is to smile a say hey like you were just there last week, but look at them like you can't remember whether or not they were there. This place is pure, unadulterated Michigan.
