    Southern Burger

We ordered the chili cheese fries for an appetizer. It was delicious!! The chili was excellent. My wife ordered the bbq burger. Excellent! I ordered the southern burger which came with two onion rings on top. Freaking awesome! The service was excellent! That atmosphere was like a traditional diner. Has a family environment vibe.

First off I was told that everything is home made here so naturally we went there for lunch and I had breakfast lol the food was really good I even ask a family that was leaving how was the food they said it was awesome and they were right.also I would like to add the portion size was super big almost everyone left with a box of leftovers The wait staff was very friendly and they were all young and happy so happy in fact my wife said how nice it was to see so many people smiling. it is definitely diner style a little dated but clean with a very nice feel. Bathroom was spotless with a sign the said to inform the wait staff if anything was in need of cleaning. I liked that a lot!

I haven't been here for years but had an appointment in the area so I stopped here for breakfast. I had the breakfast sandwich that was one egg over hard with bacon and cheese on white. It was excellent. Booth, bar and low top seating in a quaint open room setting. Prompt and friendly service. Competitive pricing. Clean restrooms. I think you'll need a password for the Wifi. I would return when I'm in the area.

Chicken sandwich with the heavenly fries.

They aren't going for atmosphere. Not much of the local color decor you might encounter in a lot of small town diners. Tables, chairs, and white walls. But it's clean and the food is good, and those are the important things. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, which comes topped with bacon and cheese as well as lettuce and the usual sandwich fixings. The chicken breast was large, tender, and juicy. I enjoyed every bite. The fries on the side were some of the best I've had in a long time. Wide, like steak fries, and slightly curly with a light coating on them. Crisp outside, tender inside, not greasy...perfection. Service was fast and courteous. Good service, great food...who needs atmosphere?

Enjoying the Mickey Mouse Pancake. Being silly.

The food was good and service was good as well. The only thing I didn't like was the decor and the paint job. It was very distracting.

Some of the best homemade food around in my opinion. Ample portions, good service and great staff. Eat here at least once a week.

Was less impressed with my meal. I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich. Grilled breast topped with Frank's hot sauce on a pretzel bun. Proabably should have shelled out a buck to top it with bleu cheese, or at least some swiss. I got onion rings on the side ($2 upcharge--very reasonable compared to many restaurants), and they were very good. Crispy but not overcooked, not so heavily battered that the onion disappeared. The breast on the sandwich was huge--would make two meals for most people. And while I appreciate the generosity, a hunk of meat that large takes away from the pleasure of the meal. I don't enjoy fighting to keep the meat between the pieces of the bun between each bite, The breast and the bun were a bit dry. That said, the service as impeccable. Two people were working the bar, where I sat, and they regularly checked in to see if I needed anything, and we discussed the beers on offer a bit. I probably shouldn't write the place off based on a single sandwich. The Cabin is just interesting enough that I will probably stop back.

The crust was overdone and it was really oily. Not a lot of great flavor either. Got an order of the wings and they were way overcooked with absolutely no seasoning. So they were very disappointing too. What saved the day was the walleye and fries. The fries were excellent, and the walleye was good. It wasn't seasoned at all, but tasted a lot better once I put some salt and pepper on it. Had a nice light breading on it but again, no seasoning, so it really required some pretty heavy salt and pepper. So I'm just kind of disappointed that the star of the show was the french fries Service was very friendly and prompt. The place looks a little rundown and doesn't really have much of an atmosphere. Linwood is supposed to be well known for walleye fishing, so they could've decorated the place along those lines and had a theme. Look like they had a decent selection of good quality liquor. Decent name brands. I'm gonna give it a three star, but part of me feels like that's a little bit of a stretch
