Couldn't wait to stop by and enjoy a great meal, with attentive service, a cherry and down-home dining area and affordable prices. Today we shared the special BBQ pulled pork over the creamiest Mac and cheese bowl. So delicious. We added side salads and shared the coconut cream pie, our favorite dessert. We stopped at Linwood Corners Cafe on the way back downstate, and now I'm already planning to make it a regular road trip stop. It's one of those unassuming places that ends up being a total win. I had the chicken noodle soup and onion rings, and I'm pretty sure both were homemade. The soup had fresh noodles and a rich, comforting flavor that felt like something your grandma would make. The onion rings were crispy, not greasy, and really tasty. Service was good too. They had someone in training, but everything went smoothly and everyone was friendly. The ambiance is basic--just a quiet, plain diner with a little echo--but honestly, when the food is that good, it doesn't matter. First off I was told that everything is home made here so naturally we went there for lunch and I had breakfast lol the food was really good I even ask a family that was leaving how was the food they said it was awesome and they were right.also I would like to add the portion size was super big almost everyone left with a box of leftovers The wait staff was very friendly and they were all young and happy so happy in fact my wife said how nice it was to see so many people smiling. it is definitely diner style a little dated but clean with a very nice feel. I haven't been here for years but had an appointment in the area so I stopped here for breakfast. I had the breakfast sandwich that was one egg over hard with bacon and cheese on white. It was excellent. Booth, bar and low top seating in a quaint open room setting. Prompt and friendly service. Competitive pricing. Clean restrooms. I think you'll need a password for the Wifi. They aren't going for atmosphere. Not much of the local color decor you might encounter in a lot of small town diners. Tables, chairs, and white walls. But it's clean and the food is good, and those are the important things. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, which comes topped with bacon and cheese as well as lettuce and the usual sandwich fixings. The chicken breast was large, tender, and juicy. I enjoyed every bite. The fries on the side were some of the best I've had in a long time. Wide, like steak fries, and slightly curly with a light coating on them. My family and I drive from Hartland to Au Gres every month or so and we finally decided to stop here on our way back home today. Server was top notch. I wish I caught his name. My 6-year-old LOVED the Mickey Mouse pancake! She is the one who told me to write a review on it my wife got an omelette and I got the Big Man Breakfast. The food was excellent! Stopped for breakfast at this establishment while returning from a Northern Michigan long weekend this past October. This Yelper tries to studiously avoid national chain-type restaurants while traveling, and so I prevailed upon my very patient co-diner to seek a local spot. This place fit the bill, to a T. First, the "ambience (if such a word can be used for a local old-time eatery):" about what you'd expect. Nothing fancy, just local color. Next, the service: top-notch. Though the place was very crowded, our server got right to us, and the food was delivered with alacrity. Finally, the food: no complaints here. At all. I got my usual order that I place when I'm not sure what kind of restaurant I' m in: grilled cheese on whole wheat with a slice of tomato grilled in the sandwich, accompanied by fries. It was exactly as it should be. The co-diner got a turkey sandwich on whole grain bread. He found it to be quite tasty. Many of the patrons around us were having breakfast, as it was Sunday late morning. Despite the fact that the restaurant was quite busy, service was speedy, and no one was kept waiting for too long. Prices were very reasonable, which helped explain the popularity of the place (besides the quality of the food, naturally). Now that we know about this place, and know how to get there, we would definitely return. No, they can be as varied as the red, white and blue. This is a smallish but nicely appointed diner type place. I love me some diner food. Today's outing took us up toward Saginaw Bay on Lake Huron. Accompanied by my bride, our companions Ben and Beth and Beth's parents we went to have lunch in Linwood. I had a great meal that was not only great but dirt cheap. It was called Mile High Meatloaf. This dish was piled high and scrumptious. It was a monument to meatloaf. Perched high atop the meatloaf were two fresh fried onion rings. These were life changing, like your first donut or your first kiss. They were hot fresh and not greasy at all. The breading was the best I have tasted and was slightly sweet. They had to come down and meet with the gravy that my meatloaf on Texas toast was swimming in. It was a union that I will not forget. Beneath the o-rings was some very good home style mashed potatoes. These did not come off a trick unless they came off as a sack of potatoes. Delightful!! Then the meatloaf finally came to the fore. This was easily a one pound loaf. It was neither soggy nor loose. It was firm, delicious and perfectly complimented by the aforementioned potatoes, gravy and onion rings. This was epic meatloaf. It was not your fathers meatloaf, it was your grandfather's mother's meatloaf on steroids. It was more than I could handle. If you are near Saginaw Bay near Pinconning, stop in to Linwood Corner Cafe. Go in hungry. Order something that says Mile High on it. Leave happy. I promise! read more

Now I love my egg white Omelettes and this place cooked it perfect!! I got a veggie egg white omelette with cheese, tomato slices instead of hashbrowns and rye toast. It came with homemade jelly that was delicious and a generous portion of everything. My friend got a ham and cheese omelette with American fries and rye toast. He took half of his home because it was such a large portion. We had actually driven here because we wanted a good breakfast place and this did not disappoint.
