My wedding was in SF at Golden Gate Club, and they did not charge me a travel fee. They showed up on time per our wedding timeline, and was very professional through the whole process. Although I did a western wedding ceremony and reception, I still wanted to add an element to celebrate my Chinese culture, so this lion dance performance was a no-brainer. When I was planning my wedding, I knew I wanted to honor my and my husband's roots with a traditional Lion Dance. WIth some research, I've found Lion Dance Me to be the best option based on value and experience. It was pretty easy to book with them. They provided a detailed list of packages and links to their past performances for reference. They were also very thorough in making sure that your venue space would have enough room for their performers to safely move around. We had a slight hiccup regarding our venue space since there were some ceiling beams that got in the way, but Norman and his team quickly resolved the issue and recommended alternative performances that would still please the crowd (and us, obviously lol). We first saw Lion Dance Me at a friend's wedding and knew right away that we wanted to hire them for our wedding, Because our venue was an outdoor venue in the middle of a neighborhood and also had other weddings going on at the same time, we were not allowed to have loud drums and cymbals, which is such a critical part for Lion Dancing! This bummed me out, but Norman said that would be no problem and that they could do it to pre-recorded music and even gave us suggestions on when the best time to do it. We decided that after the mother-son dance that the music would then transition into traditional lion dance music and then into open dance floor for everyone and the lions would hype everyone up, and it worked out so well! My husband and I hired LionDanceMe as a surprise performance for our wedding guests. Instead of entering our reception hall to a song, we decided it would be exciting to walk in to the sound of drums and alongside lions. When we first contacted Norman, he responded right away with a very thorough email containing price breakdowns and Youtube videos of past performances. This is one of the best things about Norman-- he is very quick and always so helpful. I had so many questions about the performance itself, timing, and insurance (for our venue), but Norman was very patient and answered all of my questions quickly, no matter how late in the night I was emailing him. Unfortunately, from the time we connected in 2019, we ended up postponing our wedding multiple times through the pandemic. Norman stayed flexible and understanding, moving our contract from date to date. When we finally decided to go ahead with a downsized wedding in Spring 2021, Norman was on top of everything for us. Having Chinese lion dances at my wedding was a huge success! I wanted to surprise my guests by having a performance, and it's not like I took the time to learn salsa and showcase my talents or anything. Instead, I took the easy way out and hired Lion Dance Me! And it was a great idea! The performance was actually a gift to my parents, as a thank you for all they have done for me, and I wanted to add a bit of my culture to my bi-racial wedding. Wow! Just truly amazing... I was fortunate enough to catch this group in Redding, CA this past weekend and I've never seen anything lion or dragon dance like this before. This group is filled with talent and so skillful. It was one hour of jam packed entertainment with a professional looking presentation. They performed the art of the lion dance and then gave it a twist that incorporate a well choreographed soundtrack to Eye of the Tiger. They even had nice martial arts demo. The second part of the show they turned down all the lights and came out with a brightly lit LED lion that just looked beautiful, like a mosquito's attraction to light, which performed a cutie and animated drunken lion. When the lion got drunk, the LED lights flashed some really cool patterns. Next they came out with a beautiful green dragon and started doing a lot of flash maneuvers and jumps that I can't even explain. It needs to be seen. The finale had 2 lions standing on top of these tall platforms jumping and flying from these plates, doing some really highly acrobatic moves. They did so much more, these were some of the highlights of the night... but they were all great. Thank you for such a special show. read more

We hired Norman and his team of Lion dancers for our wedding and it made the wedding extra memorable. Let's start out by laying out three main topics: Professionalism, Entertainment value, Cherry on top. A) Norman and his very well trained lion dancers were courteous, punctual, and very pleasant to work with. On our wedding we had hired them to perform at 7pm. They were there on time and ready to go. We.... were not. We ran an hour behind our schedule and asked if they could wait 1/2 an hour. A half an hour wait did not seem long for us as we were so busy; however, I understand when there is a performance at hand it's very annoying for the team to have to wait. We very, very much appreciate the fact that they did - and on top of that, no fuss. B) When the lion dancers and drum players were ready to perform they exploded onto the dance floor. Children and adults alike were in awe. No one saw it coming and that was part of the beauty of it. But, to give credit where it is due, the lion dancers were extremely acrobatic, on point, and performed exactly on cue with the music. They didn't miss a beat. Avicii's Levels and Eye of the tiger were used that night. Again they were flawless. C) The service and entertainment did not stop there. In the middle of the performance the lions surprised us when the lights were dimmed and the LEDs on the lions lit the night up. It was a such a spectacular sight to see when all the guests eyes were locked and focused on the show. Furthermore, even though they stayed later than planned Norman still asked us if we needed the lion dancers to help kickstart the party by having the dancers come out and dance with us. Anyone who has been to a wedding knows there's always that awkward 5-10 minutes where there is a small handful of people on the dance floor before guests start slowly (sometimes reluctantly) trickling in. Not this time - with the lion dancers help, we converted the dance floor to its maximum capacity within a minute or 2 at most. The most surprising thing about this? Well, all this was coordinated with only several emails. Norman and his team knew what we were looking for from the start; perhaps even before we knew what we wanted ourselves! Here's why: 1) It was nice that the MC was able to say, "From America's Got Talent, Lion Dance Me!" 2) Their routine was awesome!!! We decided three weeks before the wedding to incorporate a Lion Dance into our program, and they came through with flying colors (literally). Also, Norman texts!!! Norman was great to correspond with and even worked to get us the performance at the exact time in our schedule of the day, despite it being a very popular date. The team that performed (we had them do the drunken lion dance) was super professional--we had requested that they try to hide themselves (which was difficult to do given the layout of our wedding venue) and they were so successful that it ended up being a great surprise to everyone when they made their entrance. We also were in a space with relatively low (10 ft) ceilings, and they were able to manage the noise level so it was comfortable for our guests.
