They have excellent baked spaghetti and turkey dinners! The service is always great. It feels like going to a local place where people recognize you whenever you come in! It's like a family restaurant and sports bar in one. We always sit in the bar and just love catching a game.

My sister was getting hangry, and the place we'd started out for was closed. We were originally heading to another place in Waterford, and then, she remembered the Lion's Den. We'd been there before, so I thought it was a good place to go. First, I am always amused that they serve popcorn as an appetizer -- and it's freshly popped! Our server, Holly, was very friendly an efficient. My sister got the hot roast beef sandwich -- two thick pieces of bread with roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy. She said it was really good, and she ate all of it! I had the chargrilled chicken sandwich with sauteed onions (I didn't realize there was going to be an additional charge for those) and I substituted mashed potatoes for the fries. Honestly, it was one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had. I only ate half at the time, but I took the rest home for lunch the next day. My only complaint, as usual, is the price they charge for iced tea. Honestly, I do not understand how restaurants have the audacity to charge over $3.00 for a beverage that can't cost them more than 25 cents to make. I mean, you can get 100 tea bags for about $2.50!

Still love coming here. We prefer sitting over on the fireplace side of the restaurant, the warmth of the fire with the Christmas decorations this time of year just feels fun! We were seated quickly, but the server did take awhile to get to us - they were very busy, so it was fine. Once our server came over, she kept the pop/tea refills coming and of course the complimentary popcorn ( so addicting). All of the meals were excellent - A LOT of food for the price! We all had to get to-go boxes as we couldn't eat everything. Such a good time at Lion's Den and glad to see they changed some of the names of food items to reflect the current Lions team.

Joe Montana, Dick Butkus, Dan Marino...the nostalgia factor here is terrific.

Lion's Den has the look of a sports bar. But, when you look at the sprawling menu, it has the feel of a diner. But, the sum of the parts is greater than either. Most sports bars have televisions all over the place, but very little in the way of sports memorabilia. The Lion's Den is practically a sports museum. Everywhere you look, there are dozens of vintage photographs, helmets from professional and college sports teams, and assorted other sports related things. It's very likely you will have to come back here several times to see them all. The main dining area feels more like a dining area than a sports bar, but there are a few big screen TVs, so you can watch the game. But, this blows away any standard family dining establishment. Yes, they do have an assortment of possibly too many things on the menu. But, what they have is very good. It starts very simply, with a bowl of popcorn. To be honest, I looked at it and thought to myself , "I know places don't serve complementary bread anymore, but...popcorn? " In case you come here and think the same thing, do yourself a favor: shut up and eat the popcorn. This is really good, like movie popcorn. There's a good reason for that: they have a movie theater style popcorn maker just outside the kitchen. They do have bread, and it's very good...a subtle garlic salt and butter coating on freshly baked bread sticks. There's a recurring theme with me and the places that sell sandwiches: I always try their Reuben as my first choice. This one is loaded with corned beef and sauerkraut, with a buttery crust on the rye bread. The fries are crispy, with seasoning so good that I didn't need ketchup. My wife ordered a beautifully blackened salmon with buttery mashed potatoes and a surprisingly good vegetable medley. I say "surprisingly" because my wife usually pushes the vegetables aside. But there was a lot of care taken with the prep on these. They had a savory quality that really elevated these simple ingredients. Despite it being a mostly packed house, the service was very good. The food arrived after a reasonable amount of time...and there was the popcorn to tide us over while we waited. Definitely somewhere we want to try again if we're in the area.

My wife and I ate here after having a splendid breakfast many months ago we thought we would return for dinner. They sat us by the bar there was no one else in the restaurant not sure why we had to sit next to the bar. We had other customers standing at the bar with her faces with their butts in our faces There were so many other better seats I should've said something but I didn't. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms, which on the picture it showed seven when it showed up there were only five mushrooms. What was missing the most was crab meat it was a literally a bunch a shake on top of barely stuffed mushroom. Mostly fancy sauce and a ton of bread crumbs to hide the lack of crab....for $17! My wife ordered a sandwich which she enjoyed I think it was a Reuben made out of turkey and I ordered a signature Smash burger. We both ordered french fries that looked like they had been sitting in the basket most of the day because they were cold, and we're starting to shrink from sitting out. By the time we were done, my bill was $90 after tipping the waitress paying their 3% rip off fee. We both were expressing discontent as we left through the parking lot. It has been a while since I had breakfast there, which I never read them for and would've given them a five for that but this menu was not that menu.

Big, juicy, and piled with smothered mushrooms plus all the classic burger fixins'. It came with house-made chips seasoned with Cajun and they were SO good. Flavorful, a little kick, but not overpowering. My kids both got Cajun-seasoned fries with their meals and they weren't spicy at all, just really good flavor. One had the cheeseburger (which was huge for a kids meal) and the other had mac & cheese. The mac was good, just not my favorite thing on the table -- but that might just be me being picky. My husband ordered the pepperoni and hot honey flatbread and that was a sleeper hit. The sweet heat combo was perfect. Service was great. Drinks stayed filled, food came out in a good rhythm, and we never felt ignored. The vibe inside is what I'd call an upscale diner. Cloth napkins, nice lighting, clean, comfortable. You could do a casual date night or bring your kids like we did and feel fine either way. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the pricing. $17 for a burger without fries feels a little steep, and adding fries for $3 extra adds up fast. Kids meals at $8 felt fair though. They do have happy hour every day, which is a nice touch.
