This one I'm on the fence about regarding the rating. It's not quite a 3 star, but doesn't really meet my 4 star standing. Reason being was the look as well as the staff. The building is a newer renovated building, currently it's in a bit of an odd place, especially with all of the construction going on around it. It's not off the highway nor is it near a main road. Yet, it's a big building with a decent amount of stock. It's the size of an old 7 Eleven, so that gives you some scale. The shelves are all wood and self made. Doesn't look like it has proper support, definitely not where I was looking in the whiskey section. The selection for whiskey wasn't a vast as other locations, yet they did have some rare finds that were still at MSRP, which is a huge plus, they aren't marking items up just because they are sought after. However, the location this store sits in isn't really a harbinger for attracting high end clients that will spend $100-$200 on premium whiskey and spirits. Tho, this is why I search out these stores, as they usually have exactly what I'm looking for, unlike the big stores in the high traffic and high economy locations. They had my Buffalo Trace and Elijah Craig. They did have some more rare brands behind the counter, which is normal. Moving on to the staff, the gentleman that greeted me followed me around like I was either a possible thief or he was just bored. Not sure which. It made me a bit uncomfortable. Being my first visit, I wanted to see what they had and what the overall price points were. I asked if he had a few specific ones, Wellars, Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, Oregon Trail, First Call, Woodford Reserve, Grangestone .... they had a few of these but not all. Grangeston is a Scotch, and I didn't see any scotch at all. Oregon Trail and First call in all fairness is a not so widely known brand, tho very good, I've only found them at Total Wine, tho they aren't exclusive brands. This isn't my normal stomping grounds, it's likely I won't visit again unless I just happen to pass through and want more Buffalo Trace. read more

I'm passing through, not from Texas. I called and they told me they had what I was looking for. I hung up and arrived to buy the item they told me they had. The two gentlemen told me after I drove here that I had to spend $860 or $1500 before they could sell me what they stated was in stock over the phone. They are scammers, the company should be shut down. No way is it reasonable to ask me to purchase an obscene amount to get a $44 bottle. Should be investigated for fraud and false/misleading information! I was discriminated against is how it seems. Like car salesman trying to bait me into a crazy purchase to get what I wanted to buy. read more

So disappointed a store so beautifully redone is owned and operated by people that are absolutely horrendous to customers. I gave them two tries and I will never ever give this store another penny of my money. I came in said hello to two women that just stared back at me not saying a word. I asked if they could recommend a good vodka that was mid price but still good. One of them gave me this look like f off and turned without saying a word and walked away. This location has a great selection of whiskey. However, amongst all my DFW bourbon clubs it is widely known as having the worst customer service of the hundreds of liquor stores in the Fort Worth area, including the manager. When you walk in the store - when we've requested help you feel like your burdening the staff. The manager of this location is simply awful. Rude, negative, and unpleasant. I'd love to talk to the owner regarding my concerns as I've spent a lot of money here. I would avoid this location and spend your time at one of their other stores. read more

This place is great. They have a huge selection and competitive pricing. Their bourbon section is awesome. Liz, the manager, is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Terrible customer service. 2 Employees we're checking in a wine order, never acknowledged me, kept me waiting for 5 minutes. Never said sorry for the wait. I guess I grabbed the wrong size whiskey, they were all mixed up. This is a great liquor store for hard to find bottles. Easily the best shelf selection of craft distillery whiskeys, always a self stocked with the harder find mid to high end stuff too. The prices are competitive, a touch higher than the big boys but availability is hardly ever an issue. They do great barrel picks too. One of the only places I've been to that has a wide selection of various distillery picks. Alma is awesome at helping find what you're looking for, even when you don't know. Gigi is also very personable and helpful. Best part is they have a selection of open bottles to sample if you aren't sure. Walked in here on a whim a little over a month ago. Been hunting elusive bottles of bourbon that have become harder to find due to the current bourbon "boom". Walked in to find a gem in they had 1 bottle of Henry McKenna 10yr single barrel...and were NOT overcharging for it either. Came back a few weeks later to find they actually had Buffalo Trace in stock with plenty to go around! Also found that they have some even harder to find bottle behind the counter but are not allowing people to buy up all their stock and require you to acquire points on a system to be able to buy those in high demand. Will always check here when looking for a new bourbon or one of my old favorites as ownership isn't gouging on price or allowing those wanting to resell on the secondary market to buy up all the good read more

Awesome selection of bourbon. The people here are pretty nice but their selection is very nice. They have store pics and things you can't find it even some of the big box stores. The prices are slightly high but not astronomical. For instance Jorge deco bottled in bond is $40. Garrison Brothers honeydew is 80. Old Forrester 1920 is 60. read more

Ordered a specific whiskey because I knew it was in stock. Associate who answered the phone said they did not have the product in stock and canceled my order, and claimed to have nothing of the sort (no allocated bourbon), but when pressed, acknowledged having a different whiskey I was interested in. I decided to call back 5 min later to see if I could speak to someone who would be truthful, I got another employee, this one did not even acknowledge having the second one the initial associate told me they had. I truly wouldn't mind if they told me they they were reserving these for their repeat customers, I have such a relationship with other stores, but being lied to by multiple employees is not a great way to act, I will keep buying elsewhere. If you consider buying here, you should go in and check their stock with your own eyes rather that trusting the employees at this location or the website. read more

Actually Mihir, in the nine months it took you to reply to the comment I have been able to find it at 2 other DFW stores not affiliated with yours. So please don't try and pass yourself or your store off as a premier store by any means. Guess what??? I was able to purchase a bottle from the other store WITHOUT having to spend $5000 first just to get the blessing from your employees or store policy. Again people, avoid Mihir and his store policy to make even more money off his customers before he graces you with the opportunity to purchase merchandise from his store. There are plenty of other fine stores that have the same limited bottles Liquor King has, WITHOUT the need to purchase thousands of dollars of liquor first. And I'm not talking about Total Wine, Goodie Goodie, or Specs....I mean there are some finer, cleaner, and more personable stores than Mihir's store.
