Stopped by Liquor Vault looking for a good bourbon and had a great experience. Their selection is really impressive--plenty of solid options whether you know exactly what you want or you're just browsing. Don helped me out and made the whole experience even better. He was knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to recommend a few great bottles based on what I like. You can tell he knows his stuff and actually cares about helping customers find the right pick. I live around the corner and occasionally stop in when I'm hosting or just to get a gift, Donovan is super helpful. Located in a small strip mall off a busy intersection. Inside is a clean crowded beer/wine/liquor store. The prices seem a dollar or three higher than other places, but the staff and owner are polite and helpful. They stock a lot of higher end products. A nice place to shop for your alcohol needs. read more

Liquor Vault is a top-of-the-line establishment that I strongly recommend for all your liquor, beer, party needs. The manager/owner/staff went well out of their way to make my various purchases special. They helped us purchase kegs, they helped me plan parties/which liquor to purchase, and also helped with the number of each to purchase. They even threw in a couple complimentary pieces to show that they cared, and ordered keg taps special to make sure that we didn't have any issues. The good: - amazing customer service, very friendly, wonderful service from fine gentleman who take pride in their work - State minimum prices on liquor - fantastic selection on liquor - Decent beer selection The less perfect: - some of the mixers are not at state minimum. really, you're saving so much on liquor that I still buy my margarita, vermouth, etc. there anyway out of loyalty, but know that you could save a few dollars here. - that's really it. The store is clean and bright. The selection is far and away better than anything else in the area, and the employees are unusually friendly. If you go with any regularity (is this review making me sound like an alcoholic), you'll meet the proprietor, Mo, who is about one of the most helpful and humble purveyors of spirits you'll ever meet. One time, on a particularly large order, he helped me carry all my items out to my car (despite having other customers in the store). They're a big promoter of local Michigan businesses, so you can find some of Ferndale's Finest (such as B. Nektar Mead) at good prices. Speaking of prices, they're the best around. Mo is also a big one on having specialty items, so you'll find the top of the top shelf here, along with a bunch of small and craft produced items you've probably never seen before. I would give this place zero stars if I could. I was at this store today and was asked if I needed help multiple times. I replied, "No thank you, I'm just looking." Mind you, I was holding a 6 pack and two lemonades at the time. I was clearly finding what I needed. It was tough to get around the store while trying to navigate the narrow isles, while still safely socially distancing. Almost impossible in this congested store. I was trying to find some snacks and was walking around for a couple of minutes. About two minutes later the guy behind the counter demanded that I put my items on the counter while I was shopping. I asked him if he was serious. He acted like he wasn't trying to accuse me of trying to steal something in his sad excuse for a store. I left the items on the counter for him and left. I was wearing a t-shirt and shorts, and had no bags or anything that I could have "smuggled" goods out of his precious hole in the wall. I've never been treated like that in a store. Period. If you want to shop at a cramped, sad excuse for a liquor store, that will watch you like a hawk if you're not able to find something, then this is a great place to go. Moving to the area, I was in search for a good liquor store, and a store that also had a very wide selection of beer. And by golly... did I find it. To any craft beer drinker, they have something for everyone... a very wide selection of many of the Michigan breweries, and also some of the specialty beers too. And getting into the liquor side of it all, they have an enormous wall of selections, which you will most likely be able to find that special something to make you have liquid courage at sometime during the night. The staff there is always friendly, always willing to recommend something to you, and is always looking out for you if they think that there might be something else that you'd appreciate along with what you are buying. Great selection of beer and wine, including plenty of craft beer. Good prices, very friendly staff. Can't say too much about the liquor selection, as I have not purchased any there, but it sure seems like they have a lot. I actually ended up here looking for a specific craft beer that I was having a hard time finding, and they had it. I'll definitely check here first from now on. read more

One of the best liquor stores I've been to! Liquor is sold at the state minimum, I believe, and they're always getting new and unique whiskies in. They frequently have single-barrel bottles of Buffalo Trace for rather cheap, and they usually have a suggestion or two for me when I stop in to pick up my usual bottle of Bulleit Rye. As another reviewer said, there are stores with a better craft beer selection, but for liquor (especially whiskey), this store rules. Very friendly service, too. Highly recommended. read more

Amazing selection of liquor! I love how they have local beer and wine. The store is clean, uncluttered and well laid out. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I had about a 30 minute chat with an older(compared to the other guys) gentleman about tequila on a somewhat busy Friday night. I didn't feel rushed at all. He took the time to really make sure my questions were answered, and it was refreshing to not have someone try and tell me Jose Cuervo is "great" tequila. It's great tequila if you're a high school alcoholic asking a bum to buy you booze. read more

I'm from Arizona and flew in to Michigan for a wedding. I love beer and know Michigan is known for all types of great beer. I was searching in yelp for a five star store and found Liquor Vault in Livonia. Not only do they have one of the best and largest selections of beers , but also Vodkas, Whiskeys and pretty much everything. Nick who helped me was great, he asked me what I like, I told him light beer and he created two variety six packs which were all delicious and exactly my type. He knew his stuff, from IPAs, HOPs and where the beer is from. I was amazed at the flavors. The store is clean and is run very smooth. When we were leaving my wife asked about vodka and they recommended a delicious one called Valentines, she loves it. If you're in the area I highly recommend Liquor Vault it is great. read more
