The nursery has a beautiful plant selection but unfortunately my experience with the customer service was disappointing. As someone new to gardening, I came in looking for a specific plant and hoping to get some guidance. Instead, the associate I spoke with came across as sarcastic and condescending. When I asked for recommendations, his responses felt snarky particularly when he said, "Well, yeah, of course there are many different kinds of this plant." I understand that staff may have far more plant knowledge than I do, but beginners should still feel comfortable asking questions without being made to feel foolish. I would have loved to return for the selection, but the interaction left me feeling unwelcome. Never coming back here. read more

Extremely unprofessional and rude. The owner does not prioritize the customer needs. We will not be coming back to this place ever, and will also not refer it to anybody we know. There are tons of places with much better customer service and plants around. They need lessons on how to treat customers right, and how to treat everyone with professionalism. read more

Wow! Can't believe this is my first time ever actually coming in! Grew up and lived most of my life near here. Driven by thousands of times on my way to Sunol Regional Wilderness. Very welcoming place as soon as we walked in we were greeted by 2 different people. Questions answered, I felt comfortable with the knowledge level. My daughter and I wandered around and were offered help a number of times by different people so the customer service is on point. The day was cloudy and the plants are so lush it brought back memories of being in Hawaii we spent an hour or so admiring rows and rows of beautiful plants, fruit trees and succulents. Price points are reasonable. Please don't read that as cheap... This is high quality gardening here! All employees are masked & gloved. Plenty of room for social distancing. And all that extra oxygen from the plants! All the hummingbirds & lizards were a delightful bonus of nature... ***This review was first accidentally posted to the nearby calaveras nursery. The owner contacted me to let me know of my mistake, I was so embarrassed because I had no idea and I had never posted a review to the wrong business before! This was our first visit and we loved the place! They had a great selection and found a plant we could not elsewhere. The staff was great, helpful, smiling and knowledgeable. Super friendly place! Yes, open to the public. We did get one plant that was older, but we could not find elsewhere. They told us it was older, looking for a good home and didn't charge us for it. They haded us a cold bottle of water on our way out. Loved it and we will be back! read more

This place is efficient when it comes to succulent plants and the purchasing process. Why! It's right next to it. The cashier is in the hut shelter right next to the succulents department. If there's no one around just ring a bell. It was super quick to have an employee come out and ring my purchases. Once you arrive to the place don't hesitate. It looks a cul de sac area that's the parking lot. It's a weird set up but it works. There's so much to look at. I had my son in my stroller. No one bothered me one bit about it. All the males there from what I seen are super nice. If you're in the market for some trees they have it. Large variety of flowers to boot. If you're a flower fan. The succulent department is facing the road way to the front of the place. Prices are affordable. I highly recommend this place for any hardcore green thumb people. Who takes gardening extremely seriously. They let me keep the black tray that I put my plants on to transport it home. I will comeback. Oh yes I will. read more

What a great spot this place has, it's set up so beautifully, and they have some gorgeous full grown trees on their property, we found two rather large trees that we purchased we also bought 4 climbing roses, and 2 fruitless olive trees. Great customer service very friendly people. On Our way out they were just getting in their vegetables for the season so we got some of our tomato plants! I love this place and will be back for sure! Less selection than nearby nursery. If you are looking for shrubs and plants for setting up a garden, then this might suffice but if you want a good selection of fruit trees and plants for flowers, you may be disappointed. They do have a small section of succulents. read more

This is one of my favorite nurseries in the area. Really well taken care of- you can tell the plants are cared for properly and in healthy condition. The staff are also all very friendly and knowledgeable, giving us great advice on planting in different shaded areas, types of soil, etc and also helping us load our plant nicely into the car. They took time and we never felt rushed. Great selection of flowers, greens, succulents and some fruit trees. This was the only place that had persimmon trees too!! The prices were also the lowest compared to a few other nurseries in the area. Will definitely be back and is worth the trip out to Sunol. read more

This is a beautiful nursery, and very inspiring. Typically we head to the next nursery (Calavaras), as this one isn't open on Sundays. So we made the effort to head over on a Saturday, and I'm really pleased we did. LA Nursery has a nice combo of being budget conscience, but not feeling like a bargain basement. They have done a fine job setting up inspiring display areas, and making me itch to get home & plant. We were able to basically fill our truck for about $500.00. This is a LOT of plants! We purchased lots of azaleas (16.00 each for a nice large flowering bush), hydrangeas, and basically anything that looked flowering & beautiful. My only complaint would be the assistance we received. The woman helping us really wasn't a help at all. If anything, she was just annoying - and seemed to dog us around. Ditch her, and they'd get 5 stars. read more

Nursery is big and has variety of wide plants and trees. My husband and I have been looking for non invasive root trees for our backyard. We have visited 3-5 nurseries and stores past two weekends. In all those places we were on own looking at trees and trying to google the details . When we went to Lisa Arnold nursery, we were greeted by their staff member Nu. He was extremely helpful, he walked us around to show the trees that we were looking for and gave us time to talk to each other. On being called again he showed same amount of enthusiasm to answer our questions . We ended up buying what we wanted. I am very much impressed by the customer service and the collection. read more

I've been to Lisa Arnold multiple times. The dwarf gala apple looked very suspect but the salesperson assured us that it will bear fruit. Lo and behold, come late summer, the stick of a tree suddenly blossomed with the sweetest, albeit tiny, apples I have ever tasted. I purchased Valencia orange, Meyer lemon trees and they are flourishing as well - and I am no expert gardener - for one stretch I even didn't realize my cheap irrigation had broken down and there being no water for the trees for a month. The employees I have spoken with have been fairly courteous although some can get rather garrulous! Not really an issue because I learnt a lot of botany. The only star I knocked off is for the fact that their labeling is terrible and I cannot figure out the plant specs without having to wait on someone to get freed. read more

We bought a big established Nectarine Tree 2 years ago from this place for a high price (appx. $250). Not a single flower or single fruit for 2 years. In fact many new smaller five gallons from other nurseries have already got 30+ full blooms. Extremely sad, disappointed and feel cheated. Time will tell how this business will succeed by addressing and resolving such customer grievances. read more

This place is off of an exit on 680 and theres not much else there except a gas station and nursery so i can see why a lot of people wouldn't go here unless they were really looking at a bunch of different nurseries. I didn't get to see the entire place since I came here as a meetup to pick up some clothes from my sister as a midpoint. From what I saw, it was cute and I liked that it was easy to find since they had a couple of big signs in the front leading to their parking area. They actually have two parking areas! One in the front and one inside where all the plants are. However, I would have taken more time to look at the plants if it wasn't so hot! I recommend that if you do go here, come on a day when it's a lot cooler. Also wear comfy shoes since there's a ton of rocks as you walk in! Also, I recommend walking further in to where the other plants are since the ones in front weren't that great to look at. read more

I usually go to the nursery next door (Calaveras), but they were closed and I figured I'd check Lisa Arnold Nursery. I was very pleasantly surprised. They don't have the wide selection of Calaveras but the service is great and knowledgable and the plants they have look to be top notch. It turns out that I was too early in the season to get the plants I wanted (I know this thanks to the helpful employee or owner who talked to me), but I'll definitely be back. I don't think you can go wrong with either Lisa Arnold or Calaveras and I now know that I have two great options in the area. read more

First visit to LA Nursery Jan/2013 and really loved the selection and prices. Was helped by two different individuals and they had different information to give us on Birch trees which we were there to buy. Glad to have the second guy give us more information so we could make a better decision. My suggestion is to research your plants or take your smart phone with you. Very nice place and I would go back. Not sure on seasonal small plants but if you are landscaping this is a great place to go. read more

We visited this nursery on6/16/15, after having been referred by a neighboring nursery, who did not have the type of tree we were looking for in stock. We rang the bell for service, and an employee of the nursery came out and asked us what company we represented. We told him we were a private party. He then told us to follow him, where he stood us in front of a sign posting the hours the business was open to the general public. He read the sign out loud to us, as if we were illiterate. We were stunned to have been treated in such a demeaning manner. We will, needless to say, never return. Also wondering if anyone else has experienced the same maltreatment. read more
