This is an unbiased review (the others may also be unbiased, not sure). We were driving from Wyoming to Utah and overshot SLC and ended up glad we did! We ordered the Navajo Taco and a cup of chili and house salad and a beer (which came in a chilled glass! Huzzah!). Service was excellent; younger guy did a fantastic job and even shared some delightful local knowledge about the town! The taco was great. I am pretty sure the beef in the chili was freshly ground from local cows, which is awesome. A must try. My fiance loved his side salad (but tbh, it was a skip for me. Small town Nephi has a lovely country restaurant and it's worth a stop. I don't think Lisa's in the kitchen anymore (although I could be wrong!), but whoever is back there does a solid job. Service is friendly and it's got a slower, small town vibe. I enjoyed the clam chowder soup and a salad. It wasn't anything spectacular that you need to go out of your way for, but it's a solid option when you want some comfort food. read more

Very good home style food. We were just driving through and decided to pull off to get something to eat in this small town. As we looked at our options we weren't sure if we had made the right decision or not, but Lisa's country kitchen was the right choice! It is a decent sized restaurant, with a country style that matches its name. Wait staff was very friendly and we were seated right away. We both opted for breakfast items and everything was very tasty. The star of the show was The homemade biscuit. They are huge and so good! I wish I had gotten biscuits and gravy on the side. We had a gift card that some friends had given us from Lisa's when we went to redeem the gift card (there was no expiration date on the gift card) the employee called the owner and she refused to allow use even though it had been paid for and the gift card had no expiration date. My husband called to discuss the matter with Lisa due to state law, and she told us we could contact our lawyer. Lisa's Country Kitchen thinks it is above state laws and does not need to follow them. Specifically, Utah Code 13-11-4 Utah Consumer Sales Practices Act which states that gift cards do not expire unless there is a written expiration date. There is no implied expiration date on a gift card. Lisa refused to honor an older gift card which means that she took $60 and does not feel the need to provide any sort of goods or services in exchange for this. This is in violation of Utah law and smells a lot like theft to me. Lisa was able, but completely unwilling to remedy this situation. read more

I ordered Fish and Chips with a side of sweet potato fries. When the order came, there wasn't any "chips" only two small pieces of fish, green beans, a half slice of toast and the sweet potato fries. I asked the waitress what they considered the "chips" to be She didn't know and I asked if she could find out. She never returned. Driving home from Salt Lake City for the first time I wasn't expecting to find a gem in the midst of nowhere, but Lisa's is just that. From extremely enthusiastic wait staff to tasty comfort food, this place was a surprise amidst the gas stations and quick stop fare. You would think in a city that has increasingly more food choices, that Lisa's would step up the game a little. Our food was HORRIBLE!! I was served the equivalent of a TV dinner on a plate! Frozen veggies, old nasty rice, my salad was a pile of iceberg lettuce with slimy lettuce nothing else in the bowl and moldy smelling salad dressing. The service here is really outstanding! Fried pickles were really good and looks/tastes like they are made fresh in house. Yum! The cheeseburgers are definitely made fresh and by hand. They could use a hint of seasoning but otherwise delish! The fries were really good but could use just a little more cook time. GET THE SCONE STICKS!!! They are soooo good! The food was less than average and overpriced. We had a large group so the tip was included in the bill. when we went to check out, the cashier gave us the screen to select a tip not mentioning we had already been billed for the tip. Each of the six of us had the same experience. I have no doubt the cashier who was also our server knew we were double payiing for the tip. After a long day traveling we decided to stop in Nephi for the night. Nephi is definitely a tiny town with no much to eat or do especially after the sun goes down. Everything closes pretty early. We arrived around 8pm and Lisa's was one of the only late night options besides fast food. It's also one of the only ones who serves beer. Don't Get too hopeful with the options. They have no draft beer, but offer a few bottles. Quite expensive, but you are in Utah. Service was great and it smelled heavenly. With it being cold out and all that driving I was really looking forward to a cozy type meal. A few of us opted for the NY steak. One with baked potato and one mashed. We also ordered a country fried steak and vegetable beef soup. Everything came out quickly. Looked great and the rolls that came with our meals went so well with the soup. The soup was amazing and had huge chunks of beef. The flavor was phenomenal as well. Steaks were a bit on the fatty side, but still good. My son really enjoyed the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes and gravy vibe was pretty chill and what you probably envisioned a country kitchen to look like. I'd eat here again. Very good service. The steaks were ok for the price--kind of grisly, though. The accompaniments are great. The salad was crisp and fresh and comes with a house made dinner roll. The side veggies were tasty as well as the potatoes. Our waiter recommended the raspberry cheesecake which was fantastic. All in all a good place to enjoy a meal. read more

Stopped here on the way to St George from Ogden. Basic breakfast options. I had ham and scramble eggs, hash browns, and a gigantic biscuit. Hubby had chicken fried steak and eggs. Food was pretty good, biscuit was hard and cold, but once I asked to have it warmed up and added some maple syrup, it was really good. Service was average, friendly, but not stellar. My husband and I stopped to give Lisa's a try. Most people that know me know that if Country Fried Steak is on the menu of any restaurant, I almost always take a chance and order it. I am unfortunately usually disappointed since the meat is usually purchased frozen and passed off as fresh when in fact it tastes like a piece of cardboard has been fried and served with Gravy in an attempt to hide the cardboard taste. That said, I am thrilled to report that the steak at Lisa's was a fresh piece of round steak, properly cooked and had a great flavor. My only disappointment was that due to the lateness of the hour they were out of white country Gravy. My husband ordered the pork Chops and questioned the fact that the order consists of 3 Chops. When they arrived they were in fact fairly small chops; however, the flavor was excellent and they were well cooked. The service was prompt and friendly. The restaurant was in the process of being thoroughly cleaned while we were there; again, due to the lateness of the hour. All hands were on deck to clean, mop, sweep and prepare for the next day so even though the floors were dirty due to the many previous patrons, it was in fact being cleaned and readied for the next day. It's always nice to see workers taking cleanliness seriously. All in all, when we pass thru Nephi, we will make a point of stopping back in and eating at Lisa's. It was a wonderful meal and worth a return trip. read more

Good breakfast. After our nightmare breakfast yesterday, a dry bowl of oatmeal with a side of month-old bread would be a successful meal. Luckily, we found Lisa's. The Ham & Cheese Omelet we devoured was large and loaded with quality ham and plentiful cheese. The hash browns were made with freshly grated potato, and yes, it does make a difference. For New Years we booked an off the grid cabin in Levan so came here for some breakfast. The restaurant is super cute and had such a friendly feel. Would have loved to have seen what it looked like when it was full (before covid). We got here around 11ish and asked which is better lunch or breakfast? She said breakfast and we went with that. It was seriously so good. The Lisa's special skillet came with a full serving of pancakes which were delicious or you can pick toast or a biscuit. Diner beware! I ordered a Country Fried Steak Breakfast that indicated it was $11.79 on the menu. Upon being rung up, it was $15.99. I noticed it after the bill. I asked the server, who was nice enough, and she said some of the items on the menu went up in price. She said there's nothing she could do about it and told me to have a nice day. I get it. Times are weird right now, but don't pull that crap without notifying the customer (notification when it's already rung up doesn't count). The meal was good, I just feel hosed.
