My first review was a 5. We ate here yesterday and the food was just satisfactory. Drinks were fantastic as usual. Turkey club sandwich was excellent, huge!! The Rachel was "okay". Kind of skimpy and dry and definitely needed additional Cole slaw. My haddock sandwich was very good but, the crab soup is something to be desired!! It basically looked and tasted like THICK seafood gravy with some crab in it. We thought it was tasteless. Somebody needs to learn how to make such dishes. Crème Brûlée was on the day's menu. Of course they were out of it. The banana toffee cake is different and definitely didn't look like the picture. I doubt it was made fresh that day as it did not taste or look fresh. I have been there several times and the food was excellent. Not today! So, overall I give a 3 instead of a 5. read more

Updating my review: I no longer live in the area but felt so compelled to update a review from over one year ago. I'm so disheartened that I spent money at this place. Lisa (or someone on her staff) shared a post about white privilege not existing. When asked about this she consistently denied posting it but couldn't explain how it got on her page. That post was mysteriously deleted. Instead of answering the question, she made a post where she completely played the victim and said she should close down her business because of all the backlash. This rubbed me the wrong way. If something gets posted on your business page, people have a right to question but instead of giving answers she was playing the victim. Talk about dramatic. Now, the business shared a post about not forcing her staff to wear masks. I find it extremely irresponsible because as someone pointed out, a good portion of the customers are older individuals. Mysteriously, that post was also deleted. I'm giving a one star because this is clearly where MY hard earned dollars are not valued/we're not valued and safety is not a priority or concern. Aside from that, handling of these posts were not professional at all and why delete the posts? If that's your stance, stick by it and the backlash that you get. Instead, I watched Lisa play the victim. I don't expect much from central PA honestly. Previous review: I'll start by saying that there aren't a whole lot of options for good food in the area. Lisa's is about 5-8 minutes' drive from I-80, which made it a convenient lunch spot for us while traveling across PA. The outdoor seating was pleasant and overlooked a historic downtown scene complete with painted murals. We have been here twice so far and both times had a fantastic meal. The soup selection is awesome and everyone will love the hot chocolate mainly for the whipped cream on top (not sure what they do but it is the best whipped cream you will ever have). Service is excellent even when they are super busy and people are lined up around the corner. We sat in the front corner booth which is a little drafty (it's a charming old building with a lot of character) so they provided blankets to put over our laps for us to keep comfortable. I'll start with the good. The food is great. Period. The place absolutely has the best food in Milton hands down. I've been here multiple occasions and never have I had bad or even mediocre food. It's always good. As for the bad, the service tends be pretty slow and somewhat disorganized. Again, we've been here multiple times and unfortunately have come to expect that when we order from Lisa's something on the order will be incorrect or forgotten. The other con for place is the price. She found Lisa's and it looked promising, so we stopped. We had eaten lobster in Maine and Italian on the North End in Boston, so the bar was set pretty high for this trip. Lisa's was MONEY!! I've partaken of chicken and seafood entrees, savored appetizers and salad plates, savored well-prepared sandwiches, and enjoyed tasty morning breakfasts. I read another reviewer who praised Lisa's steaks effusively. Having just tried out the steak dinners myself, Mr. (Unknown Reviewer), I second your kudos for the excellent steaks. Tender, prepared with charbroiled flavor, and every bite melts in the mouth. The breakfast menu is delightful. My favorite is the crab omelet, if you're lucky, with "crab" written on it. It contains lots of crab, asparagus, your choice of cheeses, and comes with an appropriately mild cream sauce. The mushroom omelet comes packed with mushrooms plus a mild cheese. Of course, you can get all the traditional American breakfasts, too. As has been said elsewhere on this page, the menu features 6-8 soups every day, a wide variety of inventive sandwiches. The soups have included in the past French onion, Maryland crab, winter squash, asparagus and shrimp, The Pierogi and Reuben soups are excellent special soups. If you go for a mild but delicious lunch try the Monte Cristo is on French toast with turkey and cheese. My wife's favorite is the fish Rachael, served every Friday. The muffaletta has every cold cut in the kitchen plus lettuce and tomato with homemade Italian dressing. I could hardly get my big mouth around it. I could eat only half and it will delight your palate. All the pies are all home-made and delicious; my favorite is the coconut creme. Driving to Cleveland from nyc on 80, decided to stop here for lunch based on Yelp reviews. We LOVED it! Situated on a corner in a quaint little town. Metered Street parking Not a ton of seating, but we were lucky to get a table for 4 at 11:30 on a Sunday, as all the other tables were taken. By the time we left, there was a little line out the door waiting. (I think they close at 2 on Sunday, not sure about other days) All the food we got was amazingly delicious! Our table had the bacon jalapeño burger, the turkey & Brie panini(we left the cranberry sauce off), the special of the day which was 2 sausage patties with 3 fried eggs/onion/peppers/cheese on a pretzel roll(this was huge! Like 2 sandwiches in one & it had amazing flavor!!!), and I got the millhouse Panther which was Cajun chicken with a garlicky spinach dip- OMG it was SOOOO yummy!!!! We also had the French baked tomato soup which was good but kinda thick and heavy for me, but taste was good. The French onion soup was very good as well. Coffee is good. One tip tho- the panini's are huge. We should have considered sharing a soup and a panini between 2 people. Clean bathroom. And Cody our server was very nice. The only complaint I have is that the soup came out a few minutes after the sandwiches. We would have preferred them to come out before. Plan on at least an hour +/or - . Lisa's Deli inhabits a store front that has seen several attempts at being an eatery fail. Her deli looks like it might make it for the long haul. They opened this Spring. This has allowed them to have outdoor seating, In the winter, they may become crowded with only inside seating. The soups are all made from scratch, the sandwiches and wraps are loaded, and salads appear to be fresh cut (no bagged veggies here). I have had several of the soups and have not been disappointed with any of them. The primary indicator for me, when judging a deli, is the quality of pastrami sandwiches and/or the Reuben. I have tried the Reuben and it receives a hearty thumbs up. The downside might be the price. Some of the sandwiches might appear pricey. They are not. They are filled with lots of quality ingredients. In a strange dining paradox, I think the pricing has helped draw in more customers. The sense is that "this is not a dive, but a dining establishment" has been created; where it was not in previous attempts to open a restaurant here. Worth the drive if you are from a neighboring town. If visiting Milton, the current "must stop" for lunch. read more
