What happened to Dor Day's? I get a cheesesteak here about twice a year as a treat. No more. The bread had apparently been put in the oven to "freshen up"; there was scant everything except mayo, and there was a rancid taste, like the grill hadn't been cleaned in a while. I am from New York and used to eat at what were considered the best Deli's in the world on a daily basis. I'm not going to say that this place is better than any of them, but I can confidently say that it is not too far off. For this area, absolutely phenomenal. No place comes even close around here. Their chicken parm is fantastic, and their classic subs (Italian, Turkey Club, Ham & Cheese, etc.) are all with fresh meats and cheeses, and are very good. We were in the mood for something new. So, we tried dor-days. And, we won't be going back. I ordered a philly cheese steak with sauce and mushrooms, and hubby ordered a meatball sub with sauce. The sauce we received was a shock. We expected a marinara sauce. We got a sauce that was essentially like ketchup. The subs were made well, however, the sauce was horrible. For the last couple yers I've been going to Dor Days for ham and cheese subs with no complaints. The last two subs I've received have been the worst subs I've ever had. Not sure why all of a sudden they think it's acceptable to only put a pinch of lettuce and onions on a sub! I won't be going back!! read more

This place only ONLY gets 2 stars because the subs are good. Lewisburg has a ton of (mediocre) Italian sub shops but this is the only place I've been able to find that'll give you a standard "hometown", packed with meat, on a regular sub roll, good without any frills, sub. With that said.... It is absolutely the worst place to order from, ever. Husband and I order from here probably 1-3 times a month for the last 6 months. Our order is always 2 whole turkey subs with cheese (one American, one provolone) and everything on it. Pretty basic, right? I guess not, as our order is wrong 50% of the time. Next, the hours are terrible, they close at 8pm and aren't open on Sunday's. I'm baffled. And lastly, the professionalism of the staff is...... Well, nonexistent. Several times we've called (once, the phone line was busy for over an hour) around 7:20-7:30 and ordered our 2 measly subs to be told "you're aware we close at 8, right?" Which, under normal circumstances I'd appreciate the courtesy so that I wouldn't wait until after they close to get my food, except it's never said as a courtesy, it's always clear our order is ruining the employees life. Several times we've been told they were out of rolls. Um. But you're a sub shop??? Once, we were told "we are almost out of rolls". Ok, so what will it take for me to get one??? With all that said. Until I find better, I'll continue to order from here. When they get it right, it's decent. read more

Good subs, really old style subs. Deli meats are of good quality and fresh ingredients . Last time we were there the bun was slightly stale, but good flavor from the filling. Take out is a must, not very comfortable for eating in. Fair prices comparable to sandwich shops down town Lewisburg. This place is right outside the main part of town on rt 45. read more

Slow service. Called in order ahead of time. Told it would be ready in ten minutes. Twenty-five minutes after arriving my order was finally ready. TV is set to Fox news with sign saying, "do not touch". I won't be back for an over priced mediocre sub. read more

My whole family loves this place! Way better than all the other hoagie shops in that area. Never have any issues with staff or our food.

I am not a fan of Subway or any other chain sandwich shops that use pre-portioned containers to make their subs. I'd rather the Mom & Pop style shops that slice the meat while you wait. Dor-Day's, is that kind of shop. I ordered a basic Italian Hoagie and was not disappointed. The rolls were fresh and not to bready, if you know what I mean. The meat portions were well above what you'd receive in a chain shop, but not so much to give yourself lockjaw while eating it. The service and decor is what's to be expected for a small family owned shop....no frills, just good subs. read more

My experience was similar to R. B.'s. I was told order would be ready in 30 minutes when I called. Arrived and order had not even been started. Waited in store 30 minutes before started. Total in store wait was 40 minutes. Entire time staff complained about orders. Said loudly I don't even care if I get them right. Older man was waiting in store when I arrived. Still there when I left. Maybe he is still waiting. Won't go back. read more

People love this place, and it's because it's been here forever. It's the nostalgia & the memories they have that are connected to it. If you find someone who says its the best and they have the best sandwiches, take it with a grain of salt, & thank them, but move along. Not good, not even "ok." read more

Worst sub ever! I ordered a roast beef sub and the meet was dark, dry, and looked and tasted like it was shaved off of the end of a rump. Do not get your subs here!! read more
